Transfer activity appears to be growing at a faster rate.

Too many top recruits consolidating to too few colleges, causing expected logjam in competition for starting positions.

Georgia, Alabama and Clemson are hoarding 5 star talent at a rate never seen before.  It's inevitable that these kids, who see college as a training camp for the pros, will transfer when the playing time window closes.

    How does this get fixed?

Personally would like to see the 5 star talent more spread out, making more programs better and a challenge to the top tier schools.

The game will suffer long term if the same 2 or 3 schools are the only ones with a legit shot at a national title.  Clemson-Alabama viewer ratings were a disaster this year, as was the decision to play the game in Santa Clara.

Add to it that both teams had a lot of young talent on the field, pretty guaranteeing their spots in the game next year, and maybe even beyond. If I remember right, years ago, the NCAA changed the number of scholarships that could be offered. The impact was more noticeable in basketball as it spread the top talent across more programs. But even in basketball, we are seeing the same few teams at the top again. Part of me says things like what we have seen exposed at Louisville are the norm, and that some schools have the cash for the top talent that lures them there, but that programs that have not been caught are just smarter than the people at Louisville are.

Is there a way to access the OBB w\o clicking on this thread each time?  I’m on an IPad, if that matters. Thanks.

Look next to “Forum” in the browse tab in the upper left. You should see the word “Clubs”. Tap on that. You should see a link to join. Each time you want to enter the club, you just tap where it says club on this screen cap.

Has the academic all-state list been released yet?  The IFCA website says it was to come out the week of December 17th, but I haven't seen anything mentioned or a list posted.  Anyone know?

The deadline to get all the info in for nominations was January 4th, I believe. It was definitely in the early part of January, just not sure of the exact date.

According to the local paper, women's wrestling is starting to be something. Seymour currently has 6 women wrestling. It is my understanding that they only wrestle females. I have been told that other women are competing against their male counterparts.

We have 3 at NH. The girls' State Championship was last weekend at Hamilton Heights. We had 1 State Champion, 1 Runner Up and the 3rd finished 6th.

Obviously a homer here, but I will be interested to see what the Warsaw Tigers do in year 2 under Bart Curtis. They over exceeded my personal expectations last year, and in no way was that due to doubting the Tiger coaching staff. Implementing a completely new offensive philosophy and getting the players and community to "buy in" to it was going to be a hurdle in my opinion. However, they were only a few points away from going 10-0 in the regular season last year and even led Penn at halftime of their 1st round sectional game. A revamped out of conference schedule (replacing 4A schools Columbia City and East Noble with 5A foes Huntington North and Michigan City) and higher expectations following the "success" of 2018... I am very excited and interested to see how Warsaw does in 2019!

Our freshmen team played them about mid-season to replace a game that was canceled on our schedule and beat our kids pretty soundly. I was impressed how well the line got off the ball, and how well the QB ran the offense. The future is definitely bright there.
