My hot take: 6A: crown point to high and I would switch Carmel and DC. Otherwise I think it’s solid. 5A: flip new pal and cathedral, valpo and concord need to be replaced with white land and Kokomo. Looks like the north is Merrillville to lose unless LJ can finally slay there rival. 4A: I think it’s solid. Might switch 9/10 but that’s about it. 3A: luers needs to be dropped all the way out they got killed with transfers leaving. And Knox is not a top 10 team. They have a top 25 player but hit a top 10 team. 2A : BIG HOT TAKE: Andrean rolls everyone in 2A. By end of season there will be a gap but they are ranked correctly for now. They will give the pirates a game week 1 👀 group is solid for the rest 1A: I see a providence/ NJ match in the future!

Hate to break it to everyone but that QB from Merrillville that everyone wants to start. Looks like he will be the backup. Or at least rotate from bench. team (not coaches) are very adamant that they want the senior starting because he hasn’t had a opportunity. 👀 don’t shoot the messenger. Just want I was told Jeff doesn’t make it to semistate. I’ll be surprised if they make it out of there sectionals.

Gibbs was moved to RB. But has of earlier this week crown point got a transfer RB from Boone grove so Gibbs might be moving back to TE

As of right now in scrimmages they have Gibbs being RB1 and they put a sophomore in the TE spot. The two other running backs they have are sophomores they aren’t very physical, they have some speed but not physical at all. If scrimmage means anything Gibbs is RB1 Noah may not be the biggest loss. The new qb stepping in has a good arm and Is mobile also has more speed than Noah. Other thing I’d say Noah has on him is throwing on run and field vision. Kid will be just fine but again If scrimmages means anything the team is gonna be put all on Gibbs shoulders and he plays both ways

I don’t disagree. It if you play the right defense that offense is dead in the water. A 3-3-5 stack makes that offense impossible to run not many schools in the state run the stack

Crown point I hear doesn’t have a running back and there IU commit TE Gibbs will be lining up in the backfield a good amount. And the QB is good but nowhere near the top one in duneland. Crown point will rely heavy on the coaching staff for adjustments and there line play. if I’m not mistaken I believe crown points jv and freshman combined the last 3 years to lose 3 games. 2 of them to Merrillville and 1 to valpo if I’m not mistaken

Yes. A few times. Actually. But duneland wise.. I wouldn’t call it shit down but Merrillville in regionals 2019 I believe Warsaw ran for 200 in first quarter or so. But mid 2nd -end of game I think only got 70 more yards. I could be wrong though. There was a lot of nonsense in that game they system it’s self is easy to beat if your players know there assignments. My husband uses the system in pop warner.

Not to bash a team. But when was the last time Warsaw had a quarterback that could throw the ball and be depended on if the run got shut down

True. Seems like a lot of Duneland schools are upgrading schedule. Look forward to seeing if Merrillville and crown point can lock there week 2 games in for long term

I agree. I have seen him. But my neighbors son goes to Merrillville and he said all the starters said they won’t allow him to start. And if he comes in before the half in a non injury situation they better be on sidelines. They are taking a stand over the QB sanders that walked away because he was told he wouldn’t be the starter after Hill came in. This might be the best shot they have at state and they will mess it up

Merrillville will fall fast if the rumors are true. Gonna sit a 4star QB for a below average of a senior that played backup last year just because the team is throwing a fit that he is a senior and should play. If things true that coaching staff needs to be fired. Michael Harris JR is the best quarterback the duneland has ever seen in my opinion. There two QBs last year both couldn’t hold a candle to him. I feel for the Merrillville fans. That coaching staff will cost them a state title trip if Harris isn’t the starting QB by week 3

Sounds just like the pop warner numbers are going down. School is more focused on other sports b it who knows I have no kid in the fight there

Heard it’s the community and the coaching staff. They don’t feel like the parents are committed to the program and they HATE Cody French as a coach

The 5 and 6A polls I don’t understand. I mean come on Warsaw was state runner up and you drop them out of top 10? Merrillville at 3 I can handle but where is FW north? and 6A why is crown point so low. Feels disrespectful to have them below DC. I don’t think DC stays within 3 TDs of crown point last year

I personally met him at a game in 2022 he is not bad.. The fans at Merrillville kinda gravitate toward him. It’s like he is a super hero there 😂 he never sits still he is always running from one end of stands to the other because people call and text him all the time to come over there. When I saw him the kid had 3 phones and a tablet all pulled up on different games around the state. He lives and breathes high school football. He wants to be a real coach I think. But who knows. and yeah that rivalry does nothing for either team. But I mean no one else really has an opening for week 1 around the state. We will see what happens but I think it’s still gonna be here for a while

Just messaged his dad on fb. As of right now yes he is. He will be driving there daily along with 2 other kids that also go out there from the area
