  1. Central over Saint Joseph- it will be interesting when Central plays Mishawaka and Penn.

Knox over Glenn- Knox recently has had great regular season success.

Marian over Jimtown- Marian in the drivers seat to win the NIC south.

New Prairie over Mishawaka -  I'd had hate to see what NP would have done in the NSC with this team.

Penn over Adams-  should we start a thread for who the next Adams coach will be?

Bremen over Clay- Bremen is no Hammond

Riley over Washington-should be close between two 3-1 teams.

    Few thoughts on past weekend.

Marian has athletes - they could run far with this team if they stay healthy and play well

I agree that Marian has athletes.  Especially in football, and boys and girls basketball.  This really seems to have changed from years past.  Curious what you feel the reason is for this.

NP line is huge - Some athletes in the backfield as well - have not looked at 4A north but they too could go down state.  Nice to see them throwing the ball as well opens up the run.  They can score.  The 6'7 soph is going to be a beast in 2 years if he works at it.  Nice to see SJ offense doing things against NP.  They did it without John Driscoll and had several longer pass plays.  I would say that may be the weakness of NP after seeing them in one game

See the SB paper did not have the Penn game stats again this weekend just like last weekend.  They played 2 major powers from out of state.  Much different then playing St Mary's and Br. Rice.

    Mishawaka seems to be reloading.

Adams were moving in the right direction with Redmen.  Seems like Jones' winning ways at Washington had to do more with his players and supporting cast of coaches. Any of his teams break .500 since he left Washington? St. Joe hasn't been right since the Downey brothers departed

Ben Downey knew when to leave Saint Joseph.  The talent was drying up fast and Coach Downey bolted.  If the talent was still there Coach Downey wouldn't have left using the age old excuse of spending more time with my family.  Coach Whitten has a big job ahead of him.

  4. Clarification:  I saw a game Friday night where one team had 34 points in the 3rd quarter.  They scored a TD later in the 3rd period to give them 40-0 lead.  With clock running when they scored their 40th point the clock never stopped and continued to run during the X-point.  Is this correct?

  5. Washington High School under new head Coach Stammich brought the number of players on the team to 51.  I don't know how many the other schools have on their team, but this is an improvement.  After reading the article about the sportsmanship between Washington and Jimtown I would think that Washington is on their way to being relevant again.  Maybe Saint Joseph could learn something from Jimtown and Washington(over 100 yards again in there last game against Northridge.  Yes I agree Clay should disband their whole athletic program.

Totally agree with you and the one individual I would sit until he stops the antics and shuts the mouth but that will not happen  I agree with you, it was one(1) play who almost single-handedly lost the game for Saint Joseph and I won't name names.

Not sure how tough the Ill. school will be.  St X another story if they are up to their usual standard
