  1. Sounds like Bville based there whole decision on football because thry cant hang with the SIAC. I really thought they were going in the right direction when they hired their new coach a couple years but I was wrong. They are going backwards instead of trying to get better. Good luck in the PAC and I am glad you didnt join the SIAC. We want teams that know the can win. That article made Bville football program look really bad. Just my opinion.
  2. I rest my case. If this wasnt their plan all along they would have joined the big boys. Hope it works out for them. Cant respect a program that doesnt look to better themselves.
  3. With these scheduling possibilities it looks to me like Coach Hart is not afraid to play a tough schedule. That can only make the program stronger. So you have a 3a school wanting to play 5 and 6a teams and a 4a school wanting to play 2 and 3a schools. Will never make sence to me.
  4. If I sm counting right that would leave them with one more opening correct?
  5. Football has to be broke down as big and small division doesnt it? If so I think the new PAC would be better for the teams that want to make their selves better come tourney time. We will see by how the teams schedule their non divisonal games.
  6. Just my obsevation but the last two times Jasper played Reitz in the Bowl their crowd was not very impressive. Both were sectional games.
  7. Bottom line easier scheduling for the AD in all sports. Football no scheduling headachs, baseball/softball playing each team twice already 18 games scheduled, basketball will be the toughest but at least 9 games already set. Other sports not sure how big the schedule is but two less opponents to have to find now. This is not a knock on the SIAC’s AD’s, I think they do a great job but it does take some of the preasure off if them. That all being said I would still rather play in a conferance where I have no flexibility in my football schedule.
  8. Once again if you think the SIAC went looking for Lincoln your crazy. Jasper needed another team to join with them when they were turned down and Lincoln was the team they called and they turned in the psperwork first. Once again I am a football guy all the way snd I can care less about the other sports but I actually think if the PAC does not require crossover games GS and HH will be in a better place with being able to schedule tougher teams if they choose where neither Jasper or Lincoln will make Reitz, Castle etc better
  9. What I was hearing was no crossover games if you didnt want to. Example why would 1A TellCity and 2A South Spencer schedule 4A Boonville or even power house HH and GS.
  10. Would much rather be able to schedule three tough non conference games than have a schedule of teams you already know everything about and are mediocore at best.
  11. Enough about whos going where, whos staying put in the future. Lets start talking about 2019. Who wins 2019 SIAC, PAC snd the Big 8 for the last time?
  12. Dont believe Jasper is the question here they were a no brainer. Think this has turned into more the debate between Lincoln and GS
  13. Not sure I would agree wit that statement but that is what is good about this forum. I stiil dont think the SIAC is a great conference overall but it is a good conference. I would have rather seen it stay at 8
  14. SIAC didnt need Lincoln, Jasper did. Jasper was not getting in without another team. I would be willing to bet that Jasper made the phone call to Lincoln initially not the SIAC.
  15. Thanks, you abd Zi woukd get along good. I just want to see teams do what they can to get better
  16. Scheduling for Boonville is going to get even harder in 2020 when the gave to try to find 9 games.
  17. That may be true but that is not going to keep them from scheduling SIAC teams for Basketball. This is just my opinion but a 4a school that would rather play in a conference with all schools much smaller is afraid of the compitition they will have to face especially football. This is a great topic because of the past talk from the Big 8 snd PAC about not getting any respect from the SIAC and you finally get your chance and you walk away ftom it. The state of Indiana is unique because it does not matter how you do in the conference beacuse every team in every sport gets a sevond chance in the tournament, so why wouldnt you try to play the best compitition you can during the season to get you ready for that second chance.
  18. What Boonville is saying is that they cant compete with the tougher compitition. Mainly football because as I said earlier they are already competing against SIAC schools in all of the other sports.
  19. I believe the SIAC wants and thought they had 12 teams, why else would they have changed their bylaws from a 10 school cap to a 12 school cap. That right there tells you there were 4 additions at some point in the process.
  20. If I understood correctly, Boonville and GS were in and a few hours before the announcement Bville backed out.
  21. Sounds like the majority thinks GS should have gotten the offer to join the SIAC before Lincoln. Did a little research. Going back to the 2012 season, Harts first year at GS. No one doubting the Jasper choice. GS overall 76-12. 18-7 playoff record. 3-0 vs Lincoln. 3-3 vs Memorial Lincoln overall 43-30. 4-7 playoff record. 0-2 vs Memorial
  22. Sorry, about my thoughts. From the way you are looking at it you may be right but I am s Reitz person and I am only thinking football, the money making sport that helps fund the other sports mainly because I dont care about the other sports and this is s football site. What I was saying is that the football conference didnt get much better. Both of thise teams are middle of the pack football teams
  23. I think uts exactly the football coaches that dont want to join. I would bet if you looked at all the other sports at Boonville all there trams play multiple SIAC teams yearly. Case in point with the football program. 4 wins 22 losses vs SIAC since 1994. Only 2 of those wins were regular season wins. Just saying
