  1. 2nd Round of Sectionals

Clinton Prairie @ North Vermillion - I've been impressed with the positive step this year from the Gophers.  As just about every prediction and ranking has this as a virtual draw, I'm going to give the nod to the home team.  NV by a missed XP.

Tipton @ Eastern - Eastern big, but not by running clock big.

West Central @ Tri-Central - West Central gets it done in Sharpsville.

Caston @ Carroll - Running clock.

    Tindley @ Sheridan  Running clock.

Clinton Central @ Park Tudor - Running clock.

Move all private schools up and it makes this version 1A a lot more competitive.

IMO no private should be 1A.

    Yep, I said it.

PREACH!  IMO, all private schools should be moved up one class from their enrollment size.  I know this upsets all private school supporters and such, but you know it needs to happen.  No private schools should exist in 1A, no matter the enrollment.

No worries... I respect the AC program... they won a State Title... so they Know what it takes... i've been around since 3 class FB... sooo when someone like BTF puts his credibility on the line making a bonehead statement like 90/80% of 1a Titles would go to this AC squad... its just absurd... the closest thing to that I can remember was when 84? Sheridan fans thout they could win the BiG School Title... 😄  I'm sure their staff knew better... but hey it's alotta fun to speculate!  😊

In 2007, Sheridan scrimmaged Kevin Wright's Warren Central. Let's just say, Sheridan didn't exactly get run off the field.

Far too often we disregard small schools are something to do with talent. Like D1 vs D3. Meanwhile, we all know that class is set based off school size, having nothing to do with talent, before success factor that is.

The Hoosier isn't the only conference that utilizes the forward pass.  I think the Bison would be accepted just fine.

Would the Bison want to go to a conference where they don't get whipped every week?  Delphi lost to BC 21-12 and Delphi is mid-pack HHC.  Dem Bizun need a change of scenery.

Last time BC played Sheridan in 2020, the Dem Bizun got beat 48-6.  BC would be a mid-pack HHC team.  Still not of the likes of Sheridan/Eastern/Carroll.  However, I'm always welcoming to new(old) opponents.

Believe it or not, I really miss Hamilton Heights playing Sheridan, I miss it a lot. Maybe WeBo doesn't want it to end contrary to what 1 guy from Sheridan thinks.

I know there is a growing sentiment among people at Sheridan that the WeBo game is pointless, and needs to go away. I'd love to see the Hamilton Heights matchup come back. Maybe a Lutheran/Covenant/etc?

On the other hand, Coach Wright often uses the WeBo game to just try stuff and see if it works. He might be lobbying to keep the game, just as another scrimmage.

  6. Benton Central at Delphi

    Carroll at North Newton

    Frankfort at Clinton Central

    Frontier at Clinton Prairie

    Madison Grant at Tri Central

    Oak Hill at Eastern

Sheridan at Western Boone - Why does this game even still exist? No one in Sheridan or WeBo cares about the winner. I say this as a Sheridan grad. If SHS wins, it indicates nothing. If Western Boone wins, it still indicates nothing.

    Taylor at North White

WILO AM-1570 out of Frankfort broadcasts games of primarily Clinton County schools (Clinton Central, Clinton Prairie, Frankfort) throughout the football season, and IIRC they will sometimes broadcast a Carroll (Flora) game or two.  But they don't include a broadcast schedule on their website:  https://clintoncountydailynews.com/

Kaspar broadcasting also has a streaming video site,  http://www.hoosierlandtv.com/,  that will sometimes stream games as well.  But like the radio station I can't find a schedule.

Hoosierland simulcasts all Sheridan games, so streaming is available every week. Occasionally, they will broadcast their own games as well.

It's that time of year when we at http://www.broadcastsport.net start compiling our 'Who Is Broadcasting Where' list from across the state.  We have most of the northern-most broadcasts listed so far, but need help gathering the rest of the state.

Especially radio stations who quite often don't include their broadcast schedule on their website.

Bragg Sports Media will be returning to video stream all of Sheridan's football games.  Broadcasts can be found at BraggSportsNet.com, IHSAAtv, Hamilton County TV, HoosierlandTV, and YouTube.

So Clinton Central plays Frankfort on Friday night, then cancels in-person school/games over the weekend because of Covid.  Seems the Frankfort game was played at risk.

Every game this season will be played "at risk".  I will say, it is beyond ludicrous for teams to be rolling around on each other, sweating, spitting, bleeding...................but they wave at each other after the game because heaven forbid they high five.  That was hysterical at the end of the Sheridan/WeBo game.

  10. Sheridan has the potential to have one of the best offenses in 1A.  Hovey was leading the state in rushing yards last year before he broke his clavicle, and he is even bigger this season.  That game on Friday was an incredible bout between two teams that realized it was going to be won in the trenches.  Western Boone deserved to win just as much as Sheridan.  They were two incredibly even teams on Friday.  We'll see as the season goes on, but Sheridan has a triple threat in their backfield.  Between Hovey, Sophomore Peyton Cross, and QB Devaney, they will be a problem for many teams this season.

The increase in the use of the running clock is another indication that competitive balance is severely out of alignment and contraction should be considered as the ultimate option for some schools.

Its the right thing to do in many cases.

Why are there so many large school people trying to do away with football in the small schools on here?  Seriously.

So because schools only have 300 students, they shouldn't be allowed to play football?  How dumb of a mindset is that?
