Any news on the North Coach search?

Cody Hess is officially hired to be the next football coach at Mater Dei.

I was thinking of 1st day official practice or 1st game/match for the clock to start. I’m out of the loop on this stuff, so I have no idea.

Besides 2020 Central, all the undefeated SIAC champions have lost in their sectionals. It will be interesting to see if that happens again this year or it’s finally broken. Seems like Reitz is the favorite for this year, since they returned a good amount on both sides. Interesting to see who their QB will be this season, but I’m guessing they will be run heavy again with Darrett in the backfield.

IHSAA voting on it

Some thoughts to think about to pass the time. Who wins the SIAC this year? Who has the deepest playoff run? How does the outlook look for the new coaches (so far)? Can this SIAC Curse be broken this year?

Looked like Coach Paridaen missed coaching at smaller schools as one of his main reasons on leaving.

Could be a case, or he wanted to find a new challenge. But this came out of nowhere compared to the Jasper/MD openings, since those 2 were hinted throughout the season.

Wasn’t expecting Paridaen leaving North, although they have to replenish their entire offense, but return a majority of their defense back.

There will be a new opening in the SIAC, Joey Paridaen is leaving North for Tecumseh.

I wonder if that Hart family is any good at coaching?

I think North is getting new turf this summer, I remembered one of the local news channels mentioned it last year. Since, Bosse was getting new turf last summer and it sounded like North was up after Bosse.

It’s a steakhouse chain mainly in Texas, but has locations in other states.

That was the other school I was thinking about, but wasn’t sure. I was also a couple years off, but 1A North Davies was supposed to be in 2A for the 2022-2023 season, but the basketball team elected to move up to 3A instead. No idea if they are still in 3A.

Pretty sure, I haven’t seen any football teams do it, however, there was a basketball team last year that moved up to 3A voluntarily

Memorial was in 3A last season, since they only had 2 total points in the 2022 and 2023 Cycle. And was dropped down back to 3A last year due to the IHSAA changing the success factor points (2 points to 3 points) in the Summer of 2023.

Derek Hart has been officially hired by Jasper as their next HC. It will be interesting to see what Offensive schemes he will implement with the Wildcats this season.

I think it’s a great hire for Jasper, turned around Kankakee pretty quickly in the his 4 years there. Seems like NC is tough job right now from looks of it. I’m excited to see what he can do with Jasper and their resources, they seem to be a sleeping giant that needs to be awaken. I always thought Jasper’s passing game was slightly underrated, I believed they averaged around 10.0 yards per catch last season. I’ll be intrigued how Derek will utilize the passing game.

Yup, I wonder who else applied for the position.

Derek Hart announced he resigned from North Central to head to a new coaching position outside Central Indiana, which is pretty obvious now where he is headed too.
