  1. First day of school for Memorial tomorrow
  2. I will agree with you on that for having an opportunity to play college football during this period. And there is always another possibility of them getting another scholarship or 2
  3. Gibson Southern has scheduled Jackson High School from Missouri on week 2 to replace Owensboro. They were 5A Runner Up in Missouri
  4. Jacob Boberg from Central was officially offered by Valpo this morning
  5. First official practice, and it immediately rains
  6. Wonder if it will be live streamed
  7. I see the Watermelon Scrimmage is still on for Memorial
  8. For Memorial- Agler(Jr), Weinzapfel(Soph.), Diaz(Jr.), Vaughn(Sr.) too name a few from my head
  9. I think he could bring back Reitz to an annual top 5 in the SIAC, I heard Reitz had decent cubs team too, but I think he is a lot closer than Harrison. Speaking of Harrison, I did not know he was the head coach of their 10 win season back in 2015 and their 7 win in 2016. But, yes, he has potential to do well in my opinion.
  10. UNOFFICIAL CALPREPS STANDINGS 1. Memorial(9-0) 2. Central(7-2) 3.Castle(7-2) 4. Jasper(5-4) 5. North(4-5) 6. Mater Dei(4-5) 7. Lincoln(4-5) 8. Reitz(3-6) 9. Bosse(1-8) 10. Harrison( 0-9) Now, there are some records where I would have to disagree but here is my preseason prediction: 1. Central, a lot of good players on the team, they will compete for the SIAC 2. Memorial, like Central, they still have a strong group, though young 3. Castle, will have major improvements, definitely an competitor 4. Jasper, solid team every year 5. Mater Dei, lost a lot of strong seniors, but don't count them out 6. North, I can see them having an winning season this year, but is still far from being competitors 7. Reitz, New Coach, it will take some time, he did very well at Mt. Vernon 8. Lincoln, usual a solid team, but lost there best RB 9. Bosse, New Coach, I can see them winning more games in the future 10. Harrison, Their Coach can make something special there, but it may took some time SIAC champion: I would say maybe an 2 way tie or 3 way tie this year, unsure on what teams will win it For my team, I think Memorial could have another surprise team in my opinion. We are young, but we have a strong group of juniors that can lead the way along with the our small group of seniors. Last year I did not expect us to win state, especially 4A, and was hopping to make it to regionals or the sectional championship. But I do think we can be in the sectional championship this year, though it will be difficult. This will be an building year, but there is potential to have another good season unless we do not have football.
  11. Memorial: https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2020/07/26/josh-russell-welcomes-increased-workload-young-memorial-football-team/5471426002/ Keynote: Only 5 seniors
  12. Hopefully we have football this year
  13. Evansville Central has 590 wins? I thought they were around 500?
  14. I would agree with you on Bosse and Harrison, since they weren't mentioned at all. I hope both of the coaches can be successful at the schools.
  15. Some SIAC news, Memorial QB Colton Pence was offered a D1 scholarship for Valpo this morning
  16. Let's revive the topic as Enlow Field is getting some renovations for the potential season: https://twitter.com/YardManTommy/status/1262755782354853891?s=20
  17. Anything news around the SIAC?
  18. Hopefully Banks will have a good, rest of his career at Heritage Hills. Wish him the best of luck!
  19. Some major SIAC news, Central's QB Cam Banks has transferred and enrolled at Heritage Hills. Cam Banks started in 1 game this past year against THS
  20. I wouldn't be surprise if we somehow made it out of sectionals again lol. I wasn't even sure last year!
  21. I didn't see a thread on this, so here we go. Some notes/predictions: -Memorial is the defending 4A state champion/SIAC champion after an amazing run, but loses a ton of seniors -Central is also defending its co SIAC championship with Memorial and returns key players -MD is defending their sectional title, should be a contender for the SIAC -North will have a winning season -Castle will see improvements -VL and Jasper will be great opponents in the near future -Bosse and Harrison will both continue to struggle in conference play, but hopefully improve -Reitz will have some struggles at first, but will overcome Not the best notes, but well enough to start a conversation as the conference will have another crazy year
  22. Courier and Press staff picks: KS: I've watched some film on East Noble and they're talented. Bailey Parker will be priority number one for the Tigers' defense on Saturday. I just have more faith in Memorial right now. They make plays and get stops when they need it. Memorial 28, East Noble 20. GE: Memorial has overcome the odds all season, but the Tigers might have met their match in their bid to win a state title for the second time in three seasons. Brock Combs may once again be the best player on the team, but East Noble might be better overall. The Knights are ranked 21st overall and 1st in 4A in the Sagarin ratings (84.3) while Memorial is 45th and 7th (75.58). East Noble 24, Memorial 17 HM: After rallying from a 17-point deficit last week, East Noble is likely feeling confident going into the 4A title game. But they haven't met Brock Combs yet. The Tigers have had players step up week in and week out during the postseason and I think we'll see that happen once again. Memorial 28, East Noble 24. CL: The Sagarin Ratings say it could be a 10-point game and Massey Ratings call for a 3-point game, but both favor East Noble to defeat Memorial. The Tigers have been impressive this year. They’ve found ways to win even when they’re seemingly not on their A-game by playing strong defense and keeping games close. Hats off to them for getting to state for a third straight year. Maybe they’ll prove the outsiders like me wrong and once again hoist the state championship trophy, but I’m playing it how it looks on paper. East Noble 24, Memorial 14.
  23. I'm going to continue my optimism still, my hearts says my tigers, but my gut says the knights
  24. Indystar's prediction from Kyle Neddenriep: Class 4A: East Noble (14-0) vs. Evansville Memorial (12-1), 3:30 p.m.: Evansville Memorial is getting used to the drive. The Tigers are making a third consecutive appearance in Lucas Oil Stadium after winning the 3A title in 2017 and finishing as runner-up last year in 3A. Moving up a class has not bothered Memorial, which can run and throw effectively and has been tested by a tough schedule for coach John Hurley, who can win his 100th game on Saturday. East Noble has one of the most prolific passers in the state in Bailey Parker (2,995 passing yards, 39 TDs), who also has more than 1,300 rushing yards. The Knights are back in the title game for the first time since 2003 and looking for their first championship since 2000. Evansville Memorial 24, East Noble 21.
