  1. Picks: North at Harrison North made it closer than what the score indicates last week against Memorial thanks to their defense. However, their offense was kept in check by Memorial’s Defense and couldn’t move down the field. Harrison, went back and forth against Jasper last week before their gas ran out. But, their offense managed to score in each quarter and gave Jasper a massive scare. North’s Defense should be able to stop Harrison’s, surprisingly, quick offense and be able open up the Husky Offense. I’ll take North by 17 in this matchup. Jasper at Reitz Jasper managed to fend off an improved Harrison team by scoring 2 late TDs to seal the deal. And opened their run game by rushing over 360 yards, but struggled defensively against the pass. Reitz looked good last week against Lincoln, as the Panthers were missing a couple of starters and still won by 24. The only negative of the game of the game was penalties. The Panthers return some missing starters, and Jasper is hoping to get some revenge this last couple of years. I’ll still take Reitz by 3 scores. Bosse at Castle The Bulldogs were 22 seconds away from a victory before they snatched from it. However, the face off against Castle team that is coming off a loss to MD. Castle by a running clock. Central at Memorial Central finally got their first win since 2021 and a little bit of momentum. The Tigers come with a 21 point victory against a defensively tough North team by scoring 2 late TDs against North. But, give me the Tigers in a running clock. Game of the week Mater Dei at Lincoln Mater Dei has looked pretty good so far this season after beating the preseason #1 favorite Castle with a 2H comeback. The Wildcats offense moved the ball well as their QB racked up over 300 passing yards against Castle’s elite defense. But, the Mater Dei’s defense did not allow a single point in the 2H after giving up 24 in the 1H. Lincoln took a punch in the month against a somewhat depleted Reitz team and was hoping to make a noise for themselves. But couldn’t do much offensively or defensively against Reitz the entire game. Maybe playing against Mater Dei will light a fuse for Lincoln and continue their winning streak against them. Give me the Cats by 10.
  2. Finally saw the game winning TD, hell of a catch from the Central receiver.
  3. Calpreps uses neutral fields for their predictions, but when you plug it in MasseyRatings as a Neutral Game, Reitz is a 14 point favorite on his site.
  4. Hard to tell, maybe USA Today
  5. Calpreps: Mater Dei (-10) at Lincoln, 76%, chance of winning for the Wildcats North (-14) at Harrison, 81% chance of winning for the Huskies Jasper at Reitz (-35), 95% chance of winning for the Panthers Bosse at Castle (-39), 99% chance of winning for the Knights Central at Memorial (-50), 99% chance of winning for the Tigers
  6. IFCA Poll: 5A: 12T. Castle 4A: 3. Reitz 3A: 1. Memorial 7. Mater Dei
  7. TF20’s Power Rankings: 1. Memorial- Coming off 2 wins from pretty tough places to play at is no easy feat. Adding with a dynamic offense and stingy defense helps the Tigers at being the #1 in the SIAC. 2. Reitz- Reitz is not going anywhere guys, the Panthers are looking strong so far this season. Even without a few of their starters, their wildcat formation has looked amazing these last 2 weeks. Panthers get several players back this week including their starting QB. 3A. Mater Dei- The Wildcats have raised a ton of eyebrows after beating Castle last week. The Cats offense lit up in the 2H, with Mallory throwing over 300 yards in the game and tacking on 75 rushing yards. Memorial at Mater Dei is right around the corner. 3B. Castle- The Knights took a tough loss against Mater Dei after leading for a majority of the game. However, Castle is still a strong contender if their defense plays their A-game and their offense is beginning to show something now. 5. North- The Huskies kept close games against Memorial (up until the 4Q) and Castle thanks to their Defense. However, their offense is still trying to find their rhythm, as they couldn’t move the ball well last week. But, their defense is pretty good and will cause some trouble for teams. 6. Jasper- After taking a tough beating against Memorial, Jasper rebounded and won against Harrison. However, Jasper did struggle defensively to contain their QB and receivers. It’s Jasper, so I won’t be surprised if they finish in the Top 4. 7. Lincoln- The Alices looked pretty good against Bosse in Week 1, and had an opportunity to beat a depleted Reitz team. However, the Alices could not do much against the Panthers, although, the Alices are missing a couple of starters. 8. Harrison- Harrison has a pretty good offense judging by the eye test. Seems like their QB ripped apart Jasper’s passing defense, while the offense is averaging around 380 YPG. However, their defense hasn’t looked good so far. 9. Central- Central gets their first win in 3 years by beating Bosse. Still a long way for the Bears. 10. Bosse- Unfortunately for the Dawgs, they are in last place. Took a devastating last second loss against Central to get into the win column.

  9. USA Today Poll: 5A: 11. Castle 4A: 5. Reitz (1) 3A: 1. Memorial (10) 6. Mater Dei
  10. MasseyRatings: Mater Dei (-6) at Lincoln, 59% chance of winning for the Wildcats Jasper at Reitz (-22), 86% chance of winning for the Panthers North (-30) at Harrison, 94% chance of winning for the Huskies Bosse at Castle (-34), 97% chance of winning for the Knights Central at Memorial (-39), 100% chance of winning for the Tigers
  11. Team Stats will be uploaded later today
  12. Harrison may have the offense to do so, if they can maintain it, I believe Knapp for Harrison had over 350 passing yards against Jasper.
  13. JH line change to Memorial (-35)
  14. What we learned from Week 2: Missing some players? No problem, as Reitz runs through Lincoln winning 30-6 in a dominating game against them. Panthers win their 20th straight regular season game. Lincoln ran into a buzzsaw against Reitz last night and couldn’t do much offensively. How about them Cats? Mater Dei overcame an 24-7 deficit in the 2H and a last minute touchdown to beat Castle in a thriller. And now raises some eyebrows in the SIAC. Sounds like their QB had almost 380 total yards against the Knights. Castle had this one slip away from them, as they built a decent lead early on and was moving the ball well. But had a rough 2H allowing MD to take advantage of it. A better feeling on First Ave, as Central gets their first win in almost 3 years against Bosse. Both teams were fighting back and forth the entire tonight and Central came up top with a last minute touchdown to seal the deal. Jasper gets the rebound win following last week’s loss to Memorial. Jasper dropped 41 points against Harrison and moved the ball very well, however, they kept trading shots against Harrison the entire game. Harrison kept it a game with Jasper for all 4Q and only lost by 8 points and played pretty well. Up on US-41, Memorial prevailed over North beating them by 21 points after having a close game. The Tigers and Huskies were trading shots with each other in the 1H defensively or offensively. However, the Tigers offense pulled away with an impressive performance from Fisher and the offense. And another great defensive game from the Tigers. While North gave up 35 points, their defense held on for the majority of the game and had excellent pressure against Memorial. While it is still early in the season, it already feels like which teams will be shaking up the SIAC this season. Going to be a fun race to see who will capture the crown this year.
  15. Me too, that 2018 game was a dominant performance all around. I think it was like 42-0 at HT and shut them out too.
  16. Would be nice reviving the Border Bowl
  17. JH Opening lines: Mater Dei at Lincoln (-4) North (-14) at Harrison Jasper at Reitz (-18) Bosse at Castle (-21) Central at Memorial (-39)
  18. I think they were missing someone on the OL last night
  19. Limited Snaps for Castle + North was milking the clock on the offense. But I agree, Castle ended up having like 21 plays and most of those came from their only Offensive TD.
  20. Only missed predicting 3 rushing TDs from Fisher, how about that?
  21. SIAC Scores 35-14 Memorial over North 30-6 Reitz over Lincoln 28-24 Mater Dei over Castle 41-33 Jasper over Harrison 15-14 Central over Bosse
  22. Power Rankings are going to be interesting on Tuesday, lots of shakeups
  23. Spot on prediction
  24. 15-14 Central over Bosse, the Bears get their first win since 2021
  25. Central!!!! 15-14 Central
