  1. Picks: Harrison at Jasper Harrison did give a 1Q scare against Reitz last week, until Reitz quickly took over the game. Jasper, on the other hand, struggled the entire night against Memorial and couldn’t get the offense going. However, Reitz did run for around 430 yards against Harrison and I expect Jasper will do the same thing and run the ball. Give me the Wildcats by 4 scores. Castle at Mater Dei Castle earned a hard fought defensive victory against North last week in a 14-11 slugfest. While MD blew out Central after 1.5 quarters last Friday. Castle was limited with the ball against North having only 21 offensive plays and didn’t even touch the ball in the 2Q. So it’s a little hard to judge their offense so far (Played better in the 2H). However, I think this game will be different for Castle and we will see more offense from them. I also see Mater Dei making this game more of a fight compared to last season’s matchup. I’ll take the Knights by 2 scores in this one. Reitz at Lincoln Reitz moved the ball extremely well against Harrison without QB Davies in the game and racked up around 430 rushing yards and 49 points. Lincoln opened up an impressive victory against Bosse by winning 46-8 in a game that I thought would be somewhat closer. Looks like Lincoln moved one of their top receivers from last year to QB this season. Both teams did lose a lot from graduation from last season, so this will be an interesting game. I’m guessing it will be similar to the 2022 game in terms of closeness. I’ll take the Panthers by a score in this one, although they are missing their starting FB/LB. Central at Bosse Central is coming off a blowout loss to Mater Dei and didn’t appear the hottest. Bosse, is also coming off a blowout loss to Lincoln too and struggled the entire game. Central is still looking for their first win since 2021 and Bosse is trying to sustain the success from last year without Wagner. I have a strong feeling this could either be a blowout from one of the teams or a slugfest of a game. I think Central may have some speed as an advantage. I’ll take the Bears by 3 points and HC Artis gets his first victory. Game of the Week Memorial at North Memorial is coming off an impressive victory against Jasper by forcing a running clock and blowing out the Wildcats in a battle of contenders. As Memorial dropped around 400 total offensive yards against Jasper and moved the ball at ease. The Tiger Defense also stiffened up against Jasper and allowing under 200 yards in offense (this includes the backups). North, even though they lost, looked pretty good defensively against Castle only allowing 7 offensive points (Castle had a pick 6) and allowing 123 total yards. However, North’s Offensive couldn’t do much in the RZ against Castle’s D and couldn’t run the ball. One major positive on the offensive side is the passing game, as that helped North moved the ball a little bit. Also, North has the biggest OL/DL in SIAC, with multiple players above 6’2 280. This series has been pretty equal the last 4 years and Memorial is looking for their first win at North since 2018. North has won the last 2 games at Bundrant Stadium with a blowout and a shutout against Memorial. Maybe I’m biased, but I’ll take the Tigers by 10.
  2. Having the games start at 7:00 pm was always a blessing since it gave others extra time when getting off of work. Especially the people that work until around 6 pm. Hopefully they revert the times back… Just saw that, I’m guessing Freshman/JV and Varsity are next.
  3. Following up on this, looks like Hudl is a no go for me now, my research has fallen short and it appears Hudl made stats private for teams. Tried using the Hudl-Fan thing, but came up empty handed. Hopefully I can figure out something soon.
  4. Unfortunately, forgot why the changed the times.
  5. Updated on his website now.
  6. IFCA Poll Week 2: 5A: 8. Castle 4A: 3. Reitz 3A: 3. Memorial 10. Mater Dei
  7. As of now for S32, it is probably: 1. Heritage Hills 2. Memorial 3. Gibson Southern Will be intrigued on these teams progress through the regular season. I believe Heritage Hills is heading over to Louisville to face a defending State Champ and Memorial is headed over to face a big North team this Friday.
  8. So far, all levels for the Memorial games are on time, I haven’t seen anything change yet.
  9. Now that’s the one I was thinking of
  10. Probably the sectional that was nicknamed the “Sectional of Death” a couple of years ago.
  11. Calpreps: Memorial (-11) vs North, 75% chance of winning for the Tigers Reitz (-11) vs Lincoln, 75% chance of winning for the Panthers Central vs Bosse (-14), 81% chance of winning for the Bulldogs Castle (-20) vs Mater Dei, 88% chance of winning for the Knights Harrison vs Jasper (-21), 90% chance of winning for the Wildcats
  12. Reitz QB didn’t play last week against Harrison, but Reitz just ran the ball the entire game and had like 450 rushing yards.
  13. Yes, however, I’ve run into trouble as Hudl removed public stats or they made it harder to find. I still use MaxPreps, but some local teams and postseason teams (when I do this again), do not post on MP and usually have their stats on Hudl. Hopefully I can figure out a way on the Hudl problem.
  14. MasseyRatings: Memorial at North, Tossup game, 50/50 percentages Castle (-10) at Mater Dei, 69% chance of winning for the Knights Reitz (-15) at Lincoln, 76% chance of winning for the Panthers Central at Bosse (-21), 80% chance of winning for the Bulldogs Harrison at Jasper (-33), 96% chance of winning for the Wildcats
  15. Yea, it looks like the heat index on Friday is going to average around 100 degrees for most of the day
  16. Prediction change to Jasper (-32) Prediction change to Memorial (-4) JH updated his lines this morning, the other 3 games remained the same.
  17. 46-8 was the actual score
  18. What we have learned from Week 1: Memorial dominated Jasper in a beat down scoring on nearly every possession. As the Tigers appeared go down the field at ease, while the defense stiffened up against Jasper. Jasper had a couple of decent drives, but couldn’t get anything to work for them. Memorial heads over to North for a big matchup. Mater Dei ended their game in the 1H against Central being up like 38-0 at HT. Looks the Wildcats did whatever they wanted against the Bears and the Bears had no response. Lincoln obliterated Bosse at Enlow winning by 38 points, which I didn’t see coming. Since both teams replaced important QBs from last season. I wasn’t tuned into this game, so I’m assuming the Alices ran the ball a lot. Reitz continues its undefeated regular season streak in the SIAC by winning its 19th SIAC game. However, Reitz did faced a few internal challenges on penalties. Harrison gave Reitz a struggle for 1.25 Quarters before Reitz took control. But also had similar problems with penalties the entire game. The Castle and North game sounded like it was defensive showdown. Castle managed to win with their defense and stopped North’s rushing attack by allowing around 70 yards. However, North’s Defense gave all types fits to Castle’s Offense having unofficially 110 yards. Castle only needed a pick 6 and 4th down conversion TD to win the game by 3 and deny a 3rd straight lost to North. The anticipated Sectional Rematch is going to be amazing in October/November.
  19. Losing Wagner from last year is devastating for Bosse, he was electrifying to watch and allowed Bosse more ball movement. No idea how their new QB did, I do know he switched from being linebacker for most of career.
  20. I had to do a double take, but he predicts a 52-7 win for Bosse.
  21. These next 3 games for Reitz will be a telling sign for the Panthers. Since I think they play Lincoln, Jasper and North.
  22. JH Lines: Central at Bosse (-45) Harrison at Jasper (-38) Castle (-28) at Mater Dei Reitz (-3) at Lincoln Memorial at North (-1)
  23. Was not expecting that from the game. It was virtually a tossup on most online projections.
  24. Yes, they said it was leg cramp on the livestream since other players got it last night on both teams.
