  1. I’m guessing it’s about done, can’t wait to see it on Friday! Same with Jasper’s new stadium next weekend too.
  2. HTF Jasper preview: https://www.tristatehomepage.com/sports/local-sports/htf-preview-jasper-wants-more-than-just-a-winning-record/
  3. Article Recap, Tigers feel like they can be competitive this season and be contenders. Team needs to stay healthy, since some starters got injured last season and didn’t reach their full potential. The Tigers will lean heavy with the upperclassmen with the Offense leading the way. Even though the defense lost some to graduation, they will be spearheaded by MLB Broshears, but HC Hurley likes the Defensive core. Seems like there is at lot of interchangeability on the defense side. They talk about dropping back down to 3A and how Sectional 32 is going be tough. However, the team believes they have potential to have a great year, even if there are tough tasks ahead of them.
  4. I liked what I saw, defense was flying around like hawks, and the Offense looked good. Although, I think they are still tweaking a few things, I did see few dropped passes, but that is about it. Also, it’s sometimes a little bit tricky to evaluate the inter-squad scrimmages, so the Castle Scrimmage next week will be a lot more telling. I was impressed with the trenches, the OL definitely beefed up over the summer.
  5. Watermelon Scrimmage went well today, especially of how nice it was tonight. That August heat last year sucked.
  6. I always look forward to the MD-Memorial games, besides the 2018 game, in the last 8 years, most of games have been fairly competitive. Should be a good one in the Bowl during Week 4.
  7. HTF Central Preview: https://www.tristatehomepage.com/news/central-bears-are-hungry-for-a-win-this-season/
  8. A short recap, Bosse is hoping to gain some more momentum heading into this season after last year. Even losing their star player in QB Wagner and 85% of their offense with him, the Bulldogs are energized. The offense will now be led by 6’4 Landon Lloyd switching from TE to QB this offseason. And while there may be some challenges on both sides on the ball, the Bulldogs seek improvement and sustainable growth.
  9. A small recap, the Bears are on a 23 game losing streak and all the players now about it and wants to change the trajectory. Disorganization has played a massive role last season, since there were new players and a new HC. Central is hoping to gain some momentum and get a couple of wins for this season. The team is still trying to find their identity according to their HC.
  10. Looks like Coach Lewis loves what he see for this season. And thinks they have be a contender in the SIAC and in the sectionals. It appears the Smith player will now play both ways and will be one of the main backs on offense. I interpreted that Jasper may open their passing game a bit more with some receivers, especially their 6’4 TE/WR being the main guy. Looks like the Trenches will be interchangeable and multiple guys rotating. Overall, a lot of the players are interchangeable on defense and offense from what I read. There is ongoing competition for a kicker, punter and the safety positions for Jasper. Extremely great article for Jasper’s 2024 ambitions and where they stand before their first game against Memorial.
  11. MaxPreps preseason Top 20 Rankings: 5A: 8. North 12. Castle 4A: 7. Reitz 14. Jasper 3A: 6. Memorial 16. Lincoln
  12. Herald Jasper Preview:
  13. Recap, MD reflected on what went wrong last season and their struggles. Although there were some bright spots, a lot of their struggles were contributed to low experience. Offense may likely be their key strength this season with their QB and RB not graduating, but lots of question marks on the defense losing 7 starters. However, the Wildcats are hoping to improve throughout the season and gain some momentum heading into a loaded Sectional 32.
  14. Happy first day of official practice!
  15. HTF Bosse Preview: https://www.tristatehomepage.com/sports/local-sports/htf-preview-bosse-looks-to-recapture-magic-with-new-quarterback/
  16. Article recap, Reitz has been disappointed the last 2 years losing in the sectional against Boonville and Memorial. Sounded like they overlooked last year’s Sectional Championship game against Memorial and now intends to focus one game at a time. Some questions on the Offense, due to them losing most of their key players. However, their QB has gotten stronger over the offseason after his nagging shoulder injury. Reitz will be relying on the underclassmen this season according to the quotes. Took some heavy hits on the defensive side, but it appears that will be their stronger area with some good players returning. Coach Brunson is excited for the season and ready to defend their SIAC Title.
