1.5 does not achieve the desired objective.  2.0 does.  Id rather see the IHSAA go a little too far than not far enough with this initiative.  If it becomes too much of a burden for the PPs , they can challenge and push for a rollback.

Id like to see the arguments in this thread made by any PP against new class assignement based on The 2.0 Multiplier.  Show us where it creates a hardship.  Take all factors into consideration.  Lets debate it openly and honestly.

What is the desired objective that the success factor doesn't achieve?

Should we just cap the number of PP's that can be at LOS any given year?

IF Carroll didn't have Dwenger on their schedule this year and Homestead didn't have South Side on their schedule it would be a huge advantage for Carroll.

The top teams (averaged over the last 4 years or so) always play the top teams, so Carroll would have played BD, but maybe Homestead didn't play SS. Snider would have really screwed up the system this year.

I agree you have a valid point, if North Side had the year that it looked like they were going to early, they might have had an easier road to the bell. I don't mind throwing a perennial middle of the pack school having a good year a little luck.

  3. You don't have to kick anyone out. Each year the bigger (more successful) schools don't play one of the smaller (less successful) schools. That team you don't play rotates. Every year you play 8 of the other 9 SAC schools, and the team you don't play is different every year.

I know AD's wouldn't like having to schedule these games, but from a fan standpoint I'd love to root for Luers against Eastbrook or Snider against Penn or even South Side against Anderson.

I know this is wishful thinking.

I'm so sorry, but I was sure my notification was pretty clear about that. I'll read my own statement again to see If I had neglected to state the information about when is the date of the event, and where  it is being staged. No, I guess not; its all there!  Saturday, the 19th.moved it back to the Fort, where Carroll is the host.

    Not really, but whatever dude.

For anyone, who might not have known, the original game plans for Dwenger and Carroll; the contest was scheduled for Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy on Saturday, the 19th. But the pandemic shuffling moved it back to the Fort, where Carroll is the host. Summit City Sports isn't 'LIVE' streaming this event. Instead, Bishop Dwenger Media is providing the 'LIVE' Stream on You Tube. You can locate the link, and press the 'reminder' button for notification of when the 'LIVE' Stream has commenced.

Just wanted to point out that the Dwenger-Carroll game is Saturday even though it is back in Ft.Wayne.

Can anyone explain why Sagarin is so down on the SAC this year? I know it has always been affected by having only conference games but it has the SAC ranked exceptionally low this year. Just the gap between Carroll and Dwenger is very confusing.

I think Sagarin's early season ratings are heavily weighted by last year's postseason runs. The SAC didn't go very deep last year. As the season moves on and last years postseason falls off the table, Sagarin's ratings breakdown for the isolated SAC, at least when trying to compare to non-conference teams. This seems to happen every year.

As far as comparing to Dwenger to Carroll, they have one common opponent, North Side. Dwenger's margin of victory was 13, Carroll's 28. This 15 point differential matches pretty well to Sagarin's 16.5 delta.

Looking at it as a fan instead of as a computer, I'd say Dwenger's style of play leads to lower margins of victory so I'll give them another touchdown against NS. I'll also say I've heard grumbling that Carroll ran up the score in the 4th, I don't agree, but they definitely didn't try to run out the clock so I'll take away a touchdown. Take 14 away from Sagarin's 16.5 and you get Carroll by a field goal. I don't think too many people would call that a crazy prediction.
