  1. Don't worry, they have a damn good one. If he wasn't hurt, the last few pages of this thread probably look much different. Hats off to Webo.
  2. You would be surprised, Grant county is a funny place. I think @GFND74 hit the nail on the head regarding the Eastbrook game. Having said that EN in a close one.
  3. What is the desired objective that the success factor doesn't achieve? Should we just cap the number of PP's that can be at LOS any given year?
  4. I was just talking to the Dwenger coach the other day. I suggested upgrading the roster. He said he would think about it if they move to 6A.
  5. I thought the story was the steady decline of the SAC over the past 15-20 years? Are you expanding the steady decline to Northeast Indiana? Don't move the goal posts.
  6. The SAC has 4 sectional champions this year, the most since 2002 when they had.....4.
  7. Just did a little research. Looks like Jeffersonville is at New Albany for the Sectional 16 championship. Bedford North Lawrence withdrew against New Alabny last week. So the NA-BNL game must be considered an away game for NA. Just as foxbat said.
  8. How are forfeits being handled in terms of determining home team for later rounds? Treated as if the game was played as scheduled, as a bye, or some other convoluted scheme?
  9. Both facemask calls were pretty obvious. I mean on the second one they ripped off Lytle's helmet by the facemask. I agree, Snider looked like a different team tonight.
  10. Last night I saw the first decent argument against it: If all the good games are on the same night, you can only go to one!
  11. If Concordia and Heritage meet in sectionals, looks like it will boil down to home field advantage!
  12. The top teams (averaged over the last 4 years or so) always play the top teams, so Carroll would have played BD, but maybe Homestead didn't play SS. Snider would have really screwed up the system this year. I agree you have a valid point, if North Side had the year that it looked like they were going to early, they might have had an easier road to the bell. I don't mind throwing a perennial middle of the pack school having a good year a little luck.
  13. You don't have to kick anyone out. Each year the bigger (more successful) schools don't play one of the smaller (less successful) schools. That team you don't play rotates. Every year you play 8 of the other 9 SAC schools, and the team you don't play is different every year. I know AD's wouldn't like having to schedule these games, but from a fan standpoint I'd love to root for Luers against Eastbrook or Snider against Penn or even South Side against Anderson. I know this is wishful thinking.
  14. I agree with @Mebuck, thanks to @jakone, but these threads would be a lot more interesting if there were a few non-conference games sprinkled in the SAC schedules.
  15. Can everyone go to the games yet? I haven't seen an update to the original plan of no fans for 2 weeks and parents only for 2 weeks.
  16. As much as i hate to say it, Homestead has to be in the top spot.
  17. Just wanted to point out that the Dwenger-Carroll game is Saturday even though it is back in Ft.Wayne.
  18. I think Sagarin's early season ratings are heavily weighted by last year's postseason runs. The SAC didn't go very deep last year. As the season moves on and last years postseason falls off the table, Sagarin's ratings breakdown for the isolated SAC, at least when trying to compare to non-conference teams. This seems to happen every year. As far as comparing to Dwenger to Carroll, they have one common opponent, North Side. Dwenger's margin of victory was 13, Carroll's 28. This 15 point differential matches pretty well to Sagarin's 16.5 delta. Looking at it as a fan instead of as a computer, I'd say Dwenger's style of play leads to lower margins of victory so I'll give them another touchdown against NS. I'll also say I've heard grumbling that Carroll ran up the score in the 4th, I don't agree, but they definitely didn't try to run out the clock so I'll take away a touchdown. Take 14 away from Sagarin's 16.5 and you get Carroll by a field goal. I don't think too many people would call that a crazy prediction.
