  1. When did thr conversation even move to this year

I'd agree that anyone outside of ec would probably lose to snider this year

Hell outside of ec I think 4a is down this year

We talking about last year and how the top 4 teams from 4a could snatched a 5a trophy

And how in the easiest 5a pool in 50 years snider still managed to choke

To add onto this, I could've gone recruiting at the local pilot and found a capable team of taking 5a state last year

Let's not involve 3A in this debate. It doesn't hold any water at all with the exception of one team. And if one more person makes a claim that Indy Lutheran could win 5A I may have to check out of this forum for good as I just can't trust the credibility of the discussions anymore.

    was this me?

swear I was adamant that 1a can't beat anyone

I would have taken Snider against any one of those teams last year and no, none of those teams would have been a heavy favorite against Snider. You are delusional if you believe that

Snider couldn't even make it to the show last year in one of the weakest 5a pools in history. Hopefully this year includes a better showing.

    Fiction

you are delusional, anyone in the state would have put money behind NP EC and Roncalli against Valpo. and they would have won.

Memorial would have been capable of winning, but not a favorite.

I don't remember who I had coming in at fifth so I'll just give you that one.

5a had the lowest quality of football between the five classes last year, and the three I mentioned first would have named their score in every single game of the playoffs.

Next up: my first statement; see post from lysander, 7 out of 10 generally qualifies as "most" in my book.

Very well said!!! Kind of ridiculous some of the pointless arguments being made by some here. I would put all of 5A against all of 4A and 3A and would like my chances. Additionally, the top of 5A is better than 3A or 4A year in year out

Most years the top of 5a is 4a lmao

Oh also 5 4a teams were capable of winning 5a last year

And three of them would have been heavy favorites

Thanks for the response. I'm wondering why the "5A is weak" threads started when Cathedral left 5A. It wasn't weak when they were there? You just acknowledged that 5A was a gift to Cathedral, to which I would agree. But what about the other posters? Why is 5A all of a sudden weak? Westfield and Zionsville bumped up, I get that. Merrillville and Valpo bumped down. Snider and Cathedral will bounce back and forth. It's kind of a wash if you ask me. But no one made that claim when Cathedral was stockpiling their trophy case. One thing is for certain. Valpo earned their title last year.

Why did the new 5A merit a 32 team class? That's simple. The largest school sat at 5000, while the smallest sat at 1500. That and the fact that the three largest schools shared almost all of the titles (enter Center Grove). Large enrollment is kind of a big deal when it comes to winning championships.

I would agree that the 32 team classes should be 6A and 1A. That would put Snider, Valpo, Merrillville, East Central, Reitz, Roncalli, and New Pal in the same class.

The three team sectional was a result of Dwenger getting an exception (something I know nothing about) during a year there's not suppose to be any movement.

I only wrote that 5a is weak last year, because it was a joke.

been so uninspired from last year that I've hardly followed it this year, only thing I know is snider is good and no1 else is.

It doesn't exist, at all? I'm leaning toward human nature on this one. There are 785 officials (presuming there are 157 games with each game having a crew of 5). I'm just not buying all 785 officials being "unbiased."

"I may be wrong, but I doubt it." Charles Barkley

this is why we need a post-game press conference for the officials as I suggested last year. to give room to clear the air

Waited until the end of the game to respond.  Congrats to the Irish.   Dominated every aspect of the game.

Footballqueen16 - Cowards?  Really?   Roncalli dropped you for valid reasons.  All of them previously stated.   My former namesake "RebelDad" would say more, but I promised a Roncalli Administrator that I would "let it go".   So be it.

I heard they dropped em cuz they were scared

Thought you’d chime in on this one and full transparency, this was the toughest ranking yet.

I agree, in part with your “looking bad” take but we now have a common opponent (Homestead) by which to compare Snider and Carmel.  Granted the games were 6 weeks apart and teams change but common opponents/results is really the foundation for the poll.

I don’t think there is any wrong answer when it comes to teams 5-14 and would listen to any case made for switching them around like deck chairs.

Many would think Westfield should drop farther after last night’s debacle but I can’t drop them behind HSE, who can’t drop behind Fishers or Carroll due to head to head.

Valpo seems to be what we thought they were in the preseason and that opener at Penn seems to be well behind them.  If I were Snider I would have a serious case of “deja vu” right now…

I do believe you can learn some things and there is value in losing but you know the Snider program better than me.

    No temp bad

    Bad temp

    What did we talk about

There is definitely a wrong answer for #5 and you found it
