I think the Falcons can beat LaVille even if John Naldony was coaching them in football for the night.

Glenn must be VERY talented then or your saying he would be a better coach than what they have....which from what I have heard is probably true!!

    O

Oh come on now. You were on week 6 thread and said how did John Glenn beat Washington and didn't respond till the week 7 thread. NOW your saying you were there make up your mind.  Everyone had Glenn losing to Washington and now that Glenn beat Washington it's oh Washington played sloppy. No Glenn just flat out beat them. Bunch of kids with heart and half the size of most teams on the field on any given day. Who calls cover 3 on the goal line when they are spread out and you have the skill guys to go MAN?? Lol TD...That's how you win by being out coached.

I was still in shock cause it was a bad game!  Sure you beat them and hats off for that they are a bigger school!!!   Not sure on out coached but maybe outplayed em!  Ill give the kids the credit on that one.  LONG ways to go to get where Glenn use to be...keep trying

Thanks Guru for trying to take away my opinion of a team that has been STRUGGLING for YEARS.  They ARE getting BETTER.  I know, your Lancers are WORLD BEATERS with a SOS at 216!  C'mon...its an OPINION!  I'm not Jimmy "The Greek".

Bring your big school  NIC strength Friday!!  Our HNAC small school has something to say..x2 cause knox already showed you!!  Strap it on cause its gonna get ugly!  Hopefully you don't have an excuse like all the other Falcon people tend to have year after year!!!

Marian in a close one. 21-17 (But watch out for CMA come playoff time)

Central shuts out Adams.  33-0 (Who's next HC at Adams?)

Glenn feeling good about themselves.  16-14 (Glenn getting better every week).

Mishawaka dominates.  42-6 (St. Joe's schedule is ROUGH, can they win one this year?)

Penn beats a good New Prairie team.  28-20 (New Prairie's defense is still questionable)

A bad Benton Harbor team beats a worse Clay team 35-7. (How long until SBCSC decides they only need 3 high schools?)

Jimtown beats Riley at home for Coach Campbell's 100th victory 27-18 (This game may come down to special teams).

Washington rebounds from their loss to Glenn and beats a struggling Bremen team 20-13 (Too much youth on Bremen's team).

Glenn getting better every week????  They beat a very undisciplined and sloppy Washington team!!   Not sure what better is in your eyes but I was there and they are not very good!!

Watts and Dill, who are clearly their 2 best backs, touch the ball less than 10 times between them, that’s a problem.

Seems awfully strange right??  Seems like they always want to go to the pass and to be honest other than his running skills the Doyle kid isn't that good as a QB!!!!! He throws the ball very weak and zeros in on who he is throwing to which any good secondary will pick him off a lot!

If they would settle down on the RUN it would be much better in Lancer Country.... now I know line was young starting the season but seem like they have been improving so not sure what is holding them back from running 40  times a game.   Dill can catch and run and seems like other than this past week they want him to catch the ball....    No chemistry to what the OC is doing!!

Maybe Coach Hostrawser has room for an assistant coach?

Seems like you could add something to the braintrust . . . .

as always, the game is better

    I hear that LaVIlle is too vanilla on offense . . . . not a lot of creativitiy on offense . . .  predictable play-calling on offense . . . .

Would those be your sentiments, as well?  And, possible a few more insights?

VERY VANILLA!!  No smashmouth at all  on offense.....Defense on other hand brings it!!!  They rotate very well on D-Line and don't  miss a beat when they do.   The backers and secondary flow very well to the ball!!    Not sure what to think of this team overall....clock is ticking!

I don't know that I would say that Pioneer 'handled' LaVille.

I would say that Pioneer 'executed' better than LaVille.  ... Execution and turnovers the difference in that ball game.

I would also say that LaVille has not shown that they could win the big game.

I'd be curious to know what LaVille's record has been against teams with a winning record?  0-1 so far in 2019.  They will get a big challenge against 5-0 Knox Friday.  Can they win the big game against a team with a winning record?  In 2018, LaVille was 1-3 against teams with a winning record ... lost to Culver Academy, beat Triton, lost to Pioneer, lost to Knox .... NJSP had a .500 record and LaVille was 1-1 against them. Won in regular season and lost in sectional first round.

Along those lines, does LaVille beat any team in the Class 2A Top 10 from this weeks rankings? I don't think so either.

Therefore, the question is, how does LaVille win a big game? Against a team with a winning record?  That's something the football coaching staff must approach with the Lancer Football team.

Hopefully the Lancers can silence some critics and "upset" the Redskins this week!!!

  9. North White  25-0 - Caston is VERY BAD!

Culver -26-20   should be close game but Culver grinds it out on the ground very well!!

LaVille 24-21 very evenly matched game... not sure why Dill and Pope didn't play last week.  Offense looks to be still trying to find identity/personnel the way it looks on video....  Two very well coached teams with great staffs to prepare for this battle.  Turnovers will be key

Pioneer BIG 63-0  not sure if they are getting healthy for he second half of the season but subs have done tremendous thusfar.

Judson BIG 45-6  Guys upfront will dominate the trojans

  10. Bremen over Triton - will be an ugly game as both teams are horrible!!!   21-13

Culver over West Central - culver is to physical for WC to hang 40-8

Judson over Knox - toss up game 21-20

Pioneer over Cass - need I say more??  Lewellins get to rest 2nd half which is needed after being banged up last week.  Also a condition game as Pioneer was out of shape against Lancers!!   56-0

LaVille over Winamac - may be closer than some may think!!  Can Lancers rebound from emotional loss last week....Winamac hung with Pioneer up til half week 2.   Not sure Lancers have found their identity on offense or anyone that wants to step up.  Might be an interesting game!! 21-8

As a coach who has competed against both programs in my career, I can tell you that both programs are well coached and usually well prepared for each game. Year in and out they both usually have solid athletes and each program has a solid tradition, but I would give the edge in most categories to Pioneer at this point.  I believe its their game to lose.  Furthermore I would never say that any team could not beat any other team, on the contrary I do see LaVille's chances as pretty good. I'm just not convinced that they are good enough.   Good luck to both teams in what looks to be a heavily followed match.

Should be a GREAT GAME if BOTH TEAMS show up to play ball...also will be an amazing atmosphere I would believe
