CIC Week 4

Eastbrook at Alexandria--Eastbrook finally won this past week in a thriller over Frankton but Alexandria is on a roll.  Alexandria pulls out the win to go to 4-0 and prepares for the showdown next week with Ole Miss.

Elwood at Blackford--Elwood has improved this year under a new coach.  It is strange having both teams with a win this early in the season.  In the end Elwood rolls with it and Wins this one.

Mississinewa at Frankton--Mississinewa is 26th overall in the Saragin Rankings and 2nd in 3A Saragin Rankings.  They have a defense that has yet to be scored on.  This week Mississinewa throws another shutout and wins by at least 35.

Oak Hill at Madison-Grant--OH took a thumping last week in what was expected to be a very close game.  MG is rolling and looking ahead to the final game of the season against Mississinewa.  This game may be the closest game of the week in the CIC.  In the end MG pulls out the win but not by much.

Eastbrook at Alex - I think this is the best game of the week...Eastbroook got back on the winning side vs the Eagles last week.  Alex wants to prove last season wasn't a fluke...give me the Panthers...poor non-conference competition doesn't help the Tigers this week.  

Elwood at Blackford - Elwood...they'll have just enough to squeak this one out.

Mississinewa at Frankton - Another running clock.  Based on previous weeks scores and Sagarin, Eagles have no chance...Might be an 0-7 start for them.  Hope they stay healthy enough to get to last two weeks.

Oak Hill at Mad-Grant - Mad Grant by two scores.  Kids knowing how to win makes the difference.

CIC in general is very bottom heavy and top heavy...how do they fix this in football?

Blackford was going to leave a few years ago and go to the same conference as Southern Wells and Jay County.  Then Jay County backed out which caused Blackford to back out.  A key to the top programs is the kids are buying in to what the coach(s) are trying to do.  The kids are also held accountable for summer workouts and have great facilities.  The bottom programs have struggled to get kids to show up for summer workouts and have had coaching turnover.  Blackford has a coach that has had success at other schools and he has been at Blackford for a while now, but can't seem to get the kids to buy into his program.  The way to fix it is to get kids and parents to believe in what the coach is trying to do.

Mississinewa at Frankton-- lots of bad blood here, Ole Miss beats up on frankton
