Looks like Danville got the toughest draw out of the big 4. Probably the toughest path to LOS. Good luck to them (in the first two weeks at least).

can anyone provide any insight into their team this year?

Saw them fritter away their unbeaten season in the opener against Gibson Southern. Defensively, they controlled the LOS—GS got very little except some keepers from their QB, and one huge play on a scramble for the game winner. Running game was between the tackles…no game breakers. Good big receiver in Scrafton. Blocked punt for a score, and a fumble at the goal line was their undoing that night. Lot could change from then to now, though.

Haven't seen them play but according to my son they run wing T about 50% of the time and go 3 wide 50% of the time. Apparently, they have a lot of size at receiver/TE and a big RB. He said their starting QB got injured and they now have a sophomore QB. I wouldn't be surprised if they go heavy wing T against Brebeuf since we don't have a lot of size and given a younger QB.

I think he said they have a pretty big D line as well but I don't think that really matters too much in this game. Having a ton of speed on D is way more important against a team like Brebeuf who spreads it out so much.

That younger/Sophomore QB started 4 or 5 games last year (as a freshman) when the starter got hurt.  He's probably a better overall athlete (was playing in the slot prior to the injury to the starter).  Scrafton is a big (6'5")/athletic target.  Fulwider is pretty tall (6'2")/athletic as well.  Vu/Wooten are both big backs and move pretty well.

Will be interesting to see how Danville's D handles the Brebeuf air game.

I'm guessing this game will go like all Brebeuf games, a ton of points on both sides. At this point, teams know they are going to have to score 50+ against Brebeuf to have a chance, so most teams go for it every time unless they are really backed up on the field. Brebeuf goes for it pretty much every time too knowing they don't have much of a punting game and have probably the best offense in 4A. Brebeuf's D is bad but the offense is amazing. I think Geske leads the state in Passing yards and CJ Harris is something like 4th in the state in rushing yds. It's a pick your poison situation on how you defend them. They had a 2 game stretch against Terre Haute South and Bloomington South where they scored a TD on every single possession.

They have 1 common opponent in Tri-West who Danville beat 36-35 in OT and Brebeuf beat 27-7 in one half (called at halftime due to lightning). Football math doesn't always work out like that but I think Brebeuf wins this one in a high scoring game. Brebeuf has played a pretty tough schedule with two 6A teams, three 5A teams, Chatard, Roncalli, and two decent 3A teams and came out with a 7-2 record. I think they win something like 56-45.
