Guest DT
Hammond voters approved a new school building referendum, with the likely outcome including the closure of both Clark and Gavit High Schools That will leave Hammond's 4000 high school students split between Hammond High on the west side (new school) and Hammond Morton on the east side. I love the potential of this new setup. Both Hammond schools could become a contender in 5A down the road. And a big boon to Region football in Northwest Indiana to boot! JeffO2
I read that Gavit would become a junior high, but Clark will stay open. The latest article didn’t mention this.
Gipper
No. Adding a 3A team that can’t win a sectional to a 4A team that can’t win a sectional does not make them ready to challenge Penn, Carmel, and Center Grove.
Guest DT
Morton and Hammond High would both likely be 5A schools post consolidation. The only only current 5A schools in NW Indiana are Michigan City and Munster.

Guest DT
Laporte is right on the edge. They have been both 5a and 6a in the past several years
