Penn welcomes the Cathedral Irish to Freed Field this Friday night . Penn appears to be improved since last season and Cathedral appears to be a little down from last year . Will this game be the blowout it was last year ? I don't think Penn wins the game but I am hoping for a better game than last year . Thoughts ?

Don't think I would go that far this early concerning Penn . Back to what ? the last 2 years were the worst Penn teams in over 40 years and they still dominated most of their NIC opponents . So when you say Back , do you mean winning the NIC or making a deep 6A playoff run? I'm not ready to say they are back after only beating a very young Valpo team. If they handle business this week and then give Cathedral and ST X a game , then I will say they are back .

Maybe he thinks Lafayette and Fort Wayne are inside of Indianapolis???

Next 2 weeks get real tough for Penn . Elkhart isn't even in the same conversation as Cathedral and St X . I think Elkhart is a good team but will have their hands full with Northridge this week .

I hope not. Penn has the athletes to compete with the Indy schools. They are competitive in other sports. Usually top 10 every year in Wrestling and we just won another baseball state title 2 months ago. Hopefully someone will get this football program figured out .

In most years there might be a handfull of teams that can come within 12 points of the 6A champ. In 2017 when BD and Penn played for the title, Penn whipped Carmel 34-7 in the Northern Semistate only to get thrashed by BD in the title game. BD beat every team it played that year by more than 12 points accept WC. Same thing can be said about any of the big 3 in the MIC. On any given year , there are only maybe 3-4 teams that can stay within 2 TDS of the 6A champ that year.

Yes , its a coaches job to have the players ready for big games . Your right in one regard as Penn did not have the talent to beat Warren in 2003 regardless of the coach . But betting beat by 50 or 20 is much different . Brian Kelly was a good coach at Notre Dame , but he couldn't win the big game . And 2003 is not the only year I'm talking about . Look at 2004 Semistate, the Carmel state beating .

Geesman's last season (2002) he beat BD 30-14 . The very next year , Penn makes it to state with Yeoman in charge(Geesman's players) and gets taken to the woodshed by Warren . What is Yeomans record the last 3 seasons ?

I don't believe this , Penn won 5 state titles playing the same NIC teams . Penn has not been the same since Coach Geesman retired . Penn was always well prepared for state title games under Geesman . Under Yeoman , when they did get there (aside from 2015) they have the deer in the headlights look.

IMO , the problem at Penn is coaching period .

Why bring up Penn , When not one Penn Person ever said a word about enrollment ?

Of coarse your not going down any rabbit holes , you can't because you've never actually played a minute of high school football but think you know it all . I used to tell my kids the same thing when they were 16 .

Maybe it's because you constantly are kicking a dead horse . All those stats you provided , Newsflash , everyone knows . And you have no trouble going back years of stats when it serves your agenda . But god knows if someone mentioned something about years past , your suddenly only interested in the present . You also only list Championship games . There is a lot more to football than just the championship game .

I would rather you just say that no North team will ever win a title like all the other Indy area homers . Quit pretending that you think/hope otherwise.
