Well it's 50-0 at the half, so 98 is possible .

The only thing helping is that Penn non starters getting valuable playing time for next season and beyond .

I think it doesn't matter what conference you are in , every year there a a couple Indy bubble teams you are not going to beat . Look at the very tough HCC conference, Fishers just got waxed 47-0 by Carmel and 48-0 by LN . If this were Penn or any Northern team taking these butt kickings, we would never hear the end of it . Why isn't this very tough conference helping Fishers this year ? Hse is also in the HCC, they got destroyed by Carroll .

I can't answer why Penn doesn't leave the NIC . Maybe they weighed the extra cost vs reward of joining the DAC and it doesn't make sense . Let's be honest , Penn plays in a weak ass conference and they managed to beat the DAC's best last year in the playoffs .

I'm not going to argue with you about distances of schools , but comparing a 41 mile drive from Carmel to CG in Indy traffic, to 88 miles from Penn to Crown Point or Lake Central in Chicago traffic is funny . I've been to a Friday night game at Lake Central , it took well over 3 Hours to get there .

And my point is ,in most of the years of those blowout State losses, Penn was playing in state and out of state powerhouse teams . How did it work out for them ?

These Other Schools are figuring what out ? You mention Penn's State losses , NP has made it to state 2 times in that time frame . They got 77 points hung on them in one of the games . Maybe you should be concerned with NP instead of Penn .

Nice , had to throw the last couple sentences in there, didn't you? Look at it this way , the yearly butt kicking NP will take only makes them better.

Maybe all 3 South Bend public schools should combine .

I'm sure Penn doesn't, but what conference is there? Could you imagine the travel times to Crown Point , Lake Central , etc . Add in the time difference , kids wouldn't be getting home until midnight or after on school nights .

People say ND is irrelevant , had that game been against ND the stadium would be full.

23 , Don't take this the wrong way as I was hoping that Carroll would beat CG and Finally we would have a serious North team that could contend for a title. But to say Carroll held their own ? They did for 2 quarters , but a football game is 4 quarters and they got whipped the final 2 quarters . If one of the strongest (If not the strongest) Northern team can't compete for 4 quarters against probably the fifth best Indy team , nothing is going to change this year . Brownsburg is a whole other animal .

Did not see Center Grove putting it on Carroll like that . Is HSE that weak this year?

Ended up being neither. Best Penn offense in a long time . The defense is where I might have some concerns . They have very good Linebackers, but the D line looks undersized . This won't be a problem until they run into 6A big boys in the post season .

Penn vs Mishawaka should be a good one . This is the best passing Penn team that I have ever seen and I have been watching them since 1977 . Going up against a potent Mishawaka ground game . Mishawaka will try and limit Penn's possessions to keep that potent passing attack off the field .

I said last year after watching him in the Regional ,that Carroll's Dual threat QB is the real deal. I'm sure he is better this year . I'm thinking Carroll is going to be a handful for anyone this year .

I agree , they are just pressuring Illinois to do something. I could see Illinois politicians screw it up as well . Chicago is not called the Windy City because of Wind .

I was actually referring to this years NP team . This years team may be the best one in years . They will probably end up top 6-7 at individual state . But having 3-4 studs does not make a great Team in a dual format .
