I have known many of these kids since they were little and watched them for years and this is a dream come true for them. But getting to LOS is not the goal--winning state is. They have heard the poison all year about "everyone in 3A is playing for 2nd place". They are chomping at the bit to do everything they can to see that BC is that 2nd place. No, we don't have a roster full of guys that have moved in from all over the region to play for the super school that will be playing D1 football with a few playing on Sundays in a few years. BUT, what we do have is a bunch of hard nosed country boys that will give it everything they have, every snap--and if they have the game of their life (which I think they will), it will be enough.
This has got to be the most unselfish team I have ever seen play.
Regardless of what happens, BC may be surprised that they probably haven't been hit as hard as they will be hit Friday afternoon.

We have to be the away team AGAIN? The coin clearly hates P/Ps.

Heritage Hills won the coin flip and will be the "home" team wearing dark uniforms. Bishop Chatard wearing all-whites

Yep, he'll be playing Saturday.
He had 21 carries against Warren in Regionals and 20 carries vs Ben Davis in Semistate. Those were his first two games of the season.
Perfect - thank you!

Really looking forward to this. I will say NP 31, Valpo 17

Sorry if I've missed this, but can someone fill me in on the Carson Steele situation?
I know he missed an extended period of time..... will he be playing Saturday? Has he played in the last few weeks?

At the risk of sounding like Lou Holtz (cc: @Lysander 😁), I think this will be a great game. Expecting it to be very close either way. BCHS better come ready to play.
I'm thrilled for HH to be back in the State Finals. I have tons of respect for your great program, staff and fanbase.
Really looking forward to this week.

Drubbing of St. Joe? They beat St. Joe 28-14 and 21-7 in 2010 & 2011. AND, in the 2010 game, Chatard was up 14-7 and St. Joe was driving only to have the ball snapped over the QB's head for a scoop and score...a 14 point swing.
Definitely agree - neither game was a blowout. Although IIRC, Chatard was up 21-0 early in 1st half in 2011.
2010 was a different story. If that snap doesn't go over QB's head, who knows how that would've turned out. Matthews (I think?) was a great QB for SBSJ

Pats got some dudes! Some look like they should have been in the Jungle with me drinking Tiger BL's...but instead, they were on the field. Tiger 16' team was special! Stink thinks the Pats make the same type of run as the Tigers in 16. Win the South then get killed in the Oil Can by a private school. But guess what...Hanner was once quoted as saying, "We are the Public School State Champs"...so both of us will have that in common.
hey Stink - what was the name of #40 in the video from a few years back? Spacing it - great player

Oh boy...
@Coach Nowlin wonder if the IP Addresses of a few of these guys are in the Danville computer lab or Chatard's?

no issue as far as I am concerned...just responding to the "recruiting" comment which is a perception with no reality....as far as Chatard goes that is
There are 74 players of the 80 on the roster listed with a feeder school affiliation.
When my son played on the 2011 state championship team, 21 of 22 starters were from a feeder school.
But, of course, don't let facts get in the way of accusations

Those were down Chatard teams in 2016 and 2017, compared to their teams of the early-mid 2000's and early 2010's. I'm sure they'll be jumping for joy if they have to play Danville in LOS.
I agree -- if Chatard is able to get past Marian, I think both the players and coaching staff would love a chance to play Danville again

Marian has had a great season, only losing to Mishawaka in a tight game. Having said that, our starting RB went out in the second quarter of the Sectional Championship game against Jimtown, and in the third quarter of that game our starting QB went out. Neither played last week, and our offense is definitely challenged without them. I am not hearing optimism about them being back for Friday.
At full strength it would have been a huge challenge for the Knights to hang with Chatard. Without the starting QB or RB....
Dang, that's horrible. What happened?

Interesting factoid about the Semistate games in general.
Of the remaining teams playing one another in the 2A, 3A, 4A or 5A Semistate games, none have played one another in at last 35 years - if ever.
Interesting! Not sure if all kickoff times are confirmed, but can't believe there isn't one Saturday game (per Harrell's site)

Looking forward to this weekend's game. Any Marian fans on here?
Also: how is the tailgating scene? Any bar/restaurant recommendations?

Pretty amazing what Coach Marsh has done with this young Roncalli team after losing big to Brebeuf at home Week 6. Haven't lost since with some big wins in there too. I will be pulling for them

Got it - thanks. This will certainly alter my plans for the evening if it's being streamed 😁
If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!

Highly recommend Sugar Creek Brickhouse on U.S 40 just east of Mt. Comfort Rd., but there is also Bonnie and Clyde's Hideout on 52 on the west side of town, El Jaripeo and Round the Corner are both in town.
Perfect, thanks a ton!

New Pal is pretty close to Wanamaker -- the home of the New Bethel Ordinary. Best pizza around.
Thanks! The only place I found online near the high school is Round The Corner Grill, which I assumed will be flooded around 5 pm
