  1. Relatively disappointed with the pace of the episode until the final scene.....Totally think the captured whisperer was not being truthful, and am anxiously waiting to see the next phase of these newly discovered whisperers. Also the Negan and Judith relationship coming along is interesting to see.
  2. Source: American Medical Students Association? From an internal association document......And "Blackface" falls under that umbrella of superiority? (IMHO) - From Merriam-Webster: racism noun rac·ism | \ ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi- \ Definition of racism 1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race 2a: a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles b: a political or social system founded on racism 3: racial prejudice or discrimination
  3. And Countrywomen...... https://www.atr.org/green-new-deal-air-travel-stops-becoming-necessary This morning, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released an overview of the Democrat “Green New Deal” which threatens "a massive transformation of our society." Below are the details of the proposal. Rebuild every single building in the U.S. “Upgrade or replace every building in US for state-of-the-art energy efficiency.” Will end all traditional forms of energy in the next ten years. The Green New Deal is “a 10-year plan to mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2 to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.” Plans to ban nuclear energy within 10 years if possible. “It’s unclear if we will be able to decommission every nuclear plant within 10 years, but the plan is to transition off of nuclear and all fossil fuels as soon as possible.” Build trains across oceans and end all air travel! “Build out highspeed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary”. Don’t invest in new technology of Carbon Capture and Storage, just plant trees instead! “We believe the right way to capture carbon is to plant trees and restore our natural ecosystems. CCUS technology to date has not proven effective.” Mandates all new jobs be unionized. “Ensure that all GND jobs are union jobs that pay prevailing wages and hire local.” May include a carbon tax. “We’re not ruling a carbon tax out, but a carbon tax would be a tiny part of a Green New Deal.” May include cap and trade. “…Cap and trade may be a tiny part of the larger Green New Deal plan.” How much will it cost? No estimate of the total cost of implementing the Green New deal is offered by Ocasio-Cortez. However, as Ocasio-Cortez admits, “even if every billionaire and company came together and were willing to pour all the resources at their disposal into this investment, the aggregate value of the investments they could make would not be sufficient.” She does provide one estimate that the cost to “repair and upgrade infrastructure U.S. infrastructure” alone will cost “$4.6 trillion at minimum.” How will it be paid for? Don’t worry about that. Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t provide any insight into how the trillions of dollars in spending will be paid for other than claiming, “The Federal Reserve can extend credit to power these projects and investments and new public banks can be created to extend credit”. But as Ocasio-Cortez says, “the question isn’t how will we pay for it, but what will we do with our new shared prosperity”.

  9. https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/06/business/tesla-model-3-price-cut/index.html (CNN)Tesla cut the price of its most affordable car, the Model 3, by $1,100 making the new starting price $42,900. That's still a long way from the $35,000 price tag that Tesla CEO Elon Musk promised when the Model 3 was first unveiled in 2016. Still, Musk boasted on Twitter Wednesday that the luxury sedan really does now cost $35,000 after factoring in incentives and all the money drivers will save on fuel. Reminded by a Twitter user about that promised purchase price, Musk replied: "We're doing everything we can to get there. It's a super hard grind." This is the second time Tesla (TSLA) has cut prices in recent weeks. At the beginning of the year, Tesla announced a price cut of $2,000 on all its models to help offset the partial loss of federal income tax credits for Tesla's electric vehicles. The tax break started phasing out this year for Teslas after the car maker hit the 200,000 vehicle limit for eligibility late last year. The credit, which phases out in steps, was reduced by half -- from $7,500 to $3,750 -- beginning January 1. It will drop by half again in July. Tesla recently announced job cuts as it worked to save money amid product price cuts. This latest price drop comes after Tesla ended its customer referral program on February 2. Under that program, Tesla owners could earn prizes by referring new customers to the brand. Depending on the number of people referred, prizes included cash, racing a Tesla Semi on a test track, driving a Boring Company tunnel digging machine or discounts on a new Tesla Roadster. Musk has said recently that he expects to be able to produce the Model 3 for $35,000 in the next few months. In the meantime, the company is also coming closer to unveiling its next new product, the Model Y crossover, which will be based on the Model 3's engineering. Price drops along with added incentives aren't working..... https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2018-tesla-tracker/ Any news or trustworthy reviews on used Teslas?

  12. https://www.boston.com/news/politics/2019/02/05/art-exhibit-shows-ivanka-trump-lookalike-vacuuming-up-crumbs WASHINGTON (AP) — A new art exhibit at a Washington museum shows an Ivanka Trump lookalike pushing a vacuum cleaner and invites spectators to toss crumbs for her to clean up. The art piece by Jennifer Rubell, titled “Ivanka Vacuuming,” opened Feb. 1 and continues through Feb. 17 at the Flashpoint Gallery. The public is encouraged to “throw crumbs onto the carpet, watching as Ivanka elegantly vacuums up the mess, her smile never wavering.” A large text description of the work hanging on the gallery wall describes Ivanka Trump as “a figure whose public persona incorporates an almost comically wide range of feminine identities — daughter, wife, mother, sister, model, working woman, blonde.” It calls the act of throwing bread crumbs onto the carpet for her to vacuum “surprisingly pleasurable.” The work is open to the public from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibit is presented by the CulturalDC arts organization, and Executive Director Kristi Maiselman said her group is always happy to present “timely boundary-pushing installations” like this. The gallery text declares Ivanka Trump to be a “contemporary feminine icon” and an avatar for the complexities of modern femininity. Rubell, a New York-based conceptual artist, said in an interview on the CulturalDC website that the experience is meant to draw observers and crumb-throwers into a complicit relationship. “Here is what’s complicated: We enjoy throwing the crumbs for Ivanka to vacuum. That is the icky truth at the center of the work. It’s funny, it’s pleasurable, it makes us feel powerful, and we want to do it more,” she says. “Also, we know she’ll keep vacuuming whether we do it or not, so it’s not really our fault, right?” Kinda like Bullying? But it's ok I guess, since she is a Trump......
