  2. Because he's black and gay? Or more likely because he STAGED A FAKE CRIME and wasted a lot the CPD's time after lying repeatedly to their faces....... Smollett serves a minute in jail after conviction or confession (whichever happens first) I'll be very surprised....... Manafort was a tax evader, and a bank fraud expert (white collar crimes) and a money launderer.......And should have got more time......
  3. SF doesn't recall there being any guns in this altercation......And that deaf chick is vicious with that slingshot......
  4. IMHO - If he would have just apologized and come clean right off the bat, maybe would have been able to strike a deal. That's gonna be a little harder now. Not impossible, but certainly more costly, especially having lost his job.......
  5. Sure would, especially if the cities that already have a wall don't want them anymore - would save the rest of us some money..... and most likely prove a point......that walls work.....
  6. https://www.wgrz.com/article/life/family/ive-always-wanted-to-be-a-father-san-antonio-transgender-man-gives-birth/71-599378114 Stephan Gaeth and Wyley Simpson say they met online and their relationship quickly grew. "His happiness, his love and care and respect and acceptance," Simpson said of the qualities that drew him to Gaeth. "Wyley's honesty and kindness, overwhelmingly kind and amazing," Gaeth said of Wyley. Still, they didn't expect a family to come so quickly. Wyley Simpson was taking testosterone while transitioning and hadn't had a menstrual cycle in years when he met Gaeth. But when a week of feeling nauseous turned to full blown morning sickness, he says he learned something he never expected. "There's no way possible, but I guess I could be. And of course, after four pregnancy tests, they were all positive," Simpson said. Simpson searched inside himself to decide whether pregnancy was something he wanted. "For me, personally, especially being on testosterone for six years, I would have to stop treatment if I wanted to continue the pregnancy," Simpson explained. "So that was my main scare, especially after being on it for so long. How it would affect me mentally, that was my main concern." But his dreams of being a parent and his relationship with Gaeth were strong. "I've always wanted to be a father. And even though it happened this way and wasn't planned, I was like, ‘let's do it,’" Simpson said. Gaeth says that he hadn't planned to be a parent so soon but did everything he could to prepare. "At first, I was very unsure. And I just, it felt right, and it felt better as we talked about it," Gaeth said. "We did a lot of talking, a lot of preparing. We went to prenatal yoga together, we watched a lot of videos online, and figured out our birth plan together." The couple says that Rowan Fox is an easygoing baby who likes to eat a lot. They've looked to other parents as they start the next stage of their journey. "The amount of support has been tremendous," Gaeth said. "That has helped me have confidence in parenthood, [and learn to] rely on help when needed." Now, in their tiny home, with their tiny bundle of joy, the vet tech and dancer plan to visit family then travel the country, still not knowing exactly what's next, but excited for every minute of it. "There's no way possible" - a male and female? Think again cupcake, gender identification doesn't trump biology........"How it would affect me mentally?" I think that bridge should have been crossed six years ago.....or at least before having heterosexual sex.......
  7. Drama......SF called it when they didn't show him hit the bottom of the shaft and die......
  8. For every example you consider intellectual or scientific, I can certainly match with an example I will consider intellectual or scientific.......However I cannot profit from either side of this argument, and I assume neither can you. But Al Gore (whose predictions so far have been lees than accurate ie - Inconvenient Truth) sure is....... http://www.aei.org/publication/18-spectacularly-wrong-predictions-made-around-the-time-of-first-earth-day-in-1970-expect-more-this-year-2/ https://www.heartland.org/news-opinion/news/how-al-gore-built-the-global-warming-fraud Although his science is often seriously wrong, no one can deny that Al Gore has a flare for the dramatic. Speaking about climate change in an October 12 PBS interview, the former vice-president proclaimed, “We have a global emergency.” Referring to the most recent UN climate report, Gore claimed it showed that current global warming “could actually extend to an existential threat to human civilization on this planet as we know it.” Al Gore’s overblown rhetoric makes no sense, of course. Yet his hyperbolic claims beg the question: How did this all start? Back in the 1970s, media articles warning of imminent climate change problems began to appear regularly. TIME and Newsweek ran multiple cover stories asserting that oil companies and America’s capitalist life style were causing catastrophic damage to Earth’s climate. They claimed scientists were almost unanimous in their opinion that manmade climate change would reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. The April 28, 1975 Newsweek proposed solutions that even included outlawing internal combustion engines. This sounds very similar to today's climate change debate – except, in the 70s, the fear was manmade global cooling, not warming. TIME magazine’s January 31, 1977 cover featured a story, “How to Survive The Coming Ice Age.” It included “facts” such as scientists predicting that Earth’s so-called average temperature could drop by 20 degrees Fahrenheit due to manmade global cooling. Dr. Murray Mitchell of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned readers that “the drop in temperature between 1945 and 1968 had taken us one sixth of the way to the next Ice Age temperature.” Global cooling gained considerable traction with the general public. But then, instead of cooling as long predicted by manmade climate change advocates, the planet started warming again. Something had to be done to rescue the climate change agenda from utter disaster. Enter Al Gore. Al Gore Sr., a powerful Senator from Tennessee, saw to it that his son was elected to the House of Representatives, serving from 1977 to 1985, then going on to the Senate from 1985 to 1993. Gore Junior’s primary issue was his conviction that the Earth would perish if we did not eliminate fossil fuels. Gore advanced to Vice President under President Bill Clinton, where he was able to enact policies and direct funding to ensure that the climate change agenda became a top priority of the United States Government. Gore’s mission was boosted when Clinton gave him authority over the newly created President’s Council on Sustainable Development. It will come as no surprise then that, when the Council’s Charter was revised on April 25, 1997, the “Scope of Activities” included the following direction to the Council: Advise the President on domestic implementation of policy options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Council should not debate the science of global warming [emphasis added], but should instead focus on the implementation of national and local greenhouse gas reduction policies and activities, and adaptations in the U.S. economy and society that maximize environmental and social benefits, minimize economic impacts, and are consistent with U.S. international agreements. The Council should, at a minimum, identify and encourage potentially replicable examples of reductions in greenhouse gas emissions across diverse sectors and levels of society. Considering that the Council was tasked with advising the President “on matters involving sustainable development,” and alternative points of view on the science of climate change were effectively excluded, it was a foregone conclusion that the Clinton administration would go in the direction Gore wanted. Indeed, in their cover letter to the President accompanying their 1999 report, Advancing Prosperity, Opportunity and a Healthy Environment for the 21st Century, the Council stated: “Our report presents consensus recommendations on how America can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and take other steps to protect the climate.” A cornerstone of Gore’s strategy was to ensure that all high-ranking government officials who had any involvement with funding policies relating to climate change were in line with his vision. These agencies included the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, National Science Foundation, Department of Education, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. An example of his power was shown when physicist Dr. William Happer, then Director of Energy Research at the Department of Energy, testified before Congress in 1993 that scientific data did not support the hypothesis of manmade global warming. Gore saw to it that Happer was immediately fired. Fifteen years later, Happer quipped, “I had the privilege of being fired by Al Gore, since I refused to go along with his alarmism. I did not need the job that badly.” Al Gore was also able to leverage his high visibility, his movie awards, his Nobel Prize, and his involvement in various carbon trading and other schemes into a personal fortune. When he ended his tenure as Vice President in 2001, his net worth was $2 million. By 2013, it exceeded $300 million. Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth, provided a series of graphic images showing the apocalyptic consequences that some had predicted if fossil fuels were allowed to continue warming the planet. Images included melting glaciers, dying polar bears, spreading diseases, coastal cities inundated by massive floods, cities wiped out by hurricanes and tornadoes, and food supplies exterminated by droughts. This compelling propaganda played a major role in frightening an entire generation about the future, causing young people and many parents to feel guilty about the role that they and their country were supposedly having in destroying our beautiful planet. Since then, Americans have been told constantly that they should feel irresponsible if they drive cars or use fossil fuel energy to heat their homes or power their businesses. A rapid, massive conversion away from coal, oil and natural gas to renewable energy sources such and wind and solar, we are told, is the only hope for saving the planet. Now children are increasingly depressed about their future, thanks to the constant barrage of global warming propaganda that they receive at school. Indeed, they have become so brainwashed and cowed by their peers that they no longer dare to question any statement made about catastrophic climate change. Yet, essentially everything in Gore's climate change agenda is either wrong or highly misrepresented. Now that he is President Donald Trump’s Senior Scientist for the National Security Council, Dr. Happer needs to show there is no “scientific consensus” on these issues, rekindle informed debate on climate and energy issues, and help bring hope, common sense and real science back into the discourse – to help end the dangerous mythology of dangerous manmade global warming.
  9. And the problem still keeps getting worse? I want a refund......
  10. https://www.governorpalin.org/2019/03/08/david-duke-endorses-democrat-ilhan-omar-calls-important-member-congress/?fbclid=IwAR2AnLnuxZqLTueMuTaWgrSWjI6v3mEDjd7N0SzlLtZO3PIYn2WS8moM52s https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/if-ilhan-omar-were-a-republican-the-media-would-be-demanding-she-address-her-endorsement-by-david-duke An endorsement from David Duke? I thought Ms. Illhan was a Democrat........Can you imagine the earth-shattering uproar if she was a Republican? My guess is maybe some "nazi" nomenclature would pop up.
  11. https://nypost.com/2019/03/08/ilhan-omar-obamas-a-pretty-face-who-got-away-with-murder/ Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar ripped former President Barack Obama in an interview published Friday, belittling his “pretty face” and saying his agenda of hope and change was an illusion. She cited the “caging of kids” at the Mexican border and the “droning of countries around the world” on Obama’s watch — and argued that he wasn’t much different from President Trump “We can’t be only upset with Trump,” the freshman firebrand told Politico Magazine. “His policies are bad, but many of the people who came before him also had really bad policies. They just were more polished than he was,” Omar said. “And that’s not what we should be looking for anymore. We don’t want anybody to get away with murder because they are polished. We want to recognize the actual policies that are behind the pretty face and the smile.” The explosive comments about a man lionized by Democrats were only the latest in a series of incendiary statements that have put the national spotlight on Omar, a Somali-American Muslim who spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya after her family fled the violence in their homeland. She sure isn't making friends in the Democrat Party.......After this episode, SF wonders if Speaker Pelosi is questioning her decision not to ostracize Ms. Omar more for her "anti-semitic" comments.....
  12. With Uncle Joe leaning towards a run, this could get interesting..... https://www.chicksonright.com/blog/2019/03/07/bidens-past-comments-on-busing-and-integration-arent-going-to-go-over-too-well-with-the-dems/?fbclid=IwAR13d90F3L5axV23SdNKq0qB1uunj0BGnyeOCM5mOhhmCVKm2nNU2Nt6nHU AAALRIGHTY folks. So Biden is about 10 seconds away from announcing his candidacy… and honestly, he might be among the Dem’s very top contenders. His main obstacle? Getting over the whole “old white man” thing. Democrats take issue with that. They don’t particularly LIKE old white men. Some newly re-discovered comments of his are CERTAINLY not going to help his cause. Interestingly… they’ve been newly rediscovered by the ultra-liberal WASHINGTON POST. (My guess is they have their money on Kamala.) The Dems are about to lose it big time. Mmm Hmm. And it only gets less “woke” from there. WAAAIT. Is Joe saying Diversity ISN’T our strength?! And then… So… he’s NOT in favor of reparations, right? I’m not necessarily commenting on his opinions here. I actually agree with him that slavery is in no way the fault or responsibility of people around today. But how’s this going to play out with the libs? At a time when other top contenders are running on “White man BAD” platforms? My guess… NOT SO GOOD. Please run Joe, please run...............
  13. A pool? Oh (IMHO) you guys are going straight to the river Hades for this one...... SF takes June 1......
  14. OK - Then let's just remove the walls from the cities like El Paso and McAllen........And move them to the places that actually want them.....
  15. https://www.dailywire.com/news/44270/watch-us-border-patrol-offers-staggering-numbers-hank-berrien?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=dwtwitter At a press briefing conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Tuesday, numbers were offered that showed how urgently U.S. Border Patrol needs help, including the fact that in February alone, the Border Patrol executed over 66,000 apprehensions of illegal immigrants. Brian Hastings, chief of operations at Border Control headquarters, stated that in February, U.S. Border Patrol executed over 66,000 apprehensions; since October there have been over 268,000 apprehensions, a 97% increase over the previous fiscal year to that point. Hastings noted that some people said there were comparable numbers in the past, but Hastings pointed out that the demographics are different now, as in the past the immigrants were primarily from Mexico, and thus returning them was not as difficult, while presently the bulk of immigrants are coming from what he called the “northern triangle” of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. He stated, “Historically the U.S. Border Patrol has arrested 70 to 90% Mexican nationals; we could apply a consequence to that demographic; we could return them quickly to Mexico. Today 70% of all those we are arresting are from the northern triangle: Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.” He continued, “October 2018 marked the first time in our history that family units exceeded single adult apprehensions, and in February of 2019 family units and unaccompanied children accounted for 65% of all Border Patrol apprehensions." Hastings warned, “So without a consequence, without being able to deliver a consequence to these individuals for illegally crossing our borders, the Border Patrol has no reason to expect that this trend will decrease; in fact, we believe it will increase. It’s well known at this time that adults with children will not be detained during the immigration proceedings for illegal entry; the word of mouth in social media quickly gets back to those in the northern triangle countries that if you bring a child, you will be successful. From April 2018 through February 2019, we’ve had almost 2,400 fraudulent claims of families. Of those fraudulent claims, some are folks who have claimed they are under 18 and they’re not; others have actually been fraudulent familial claims.” Hastings noted that in the current fiscal year there have already been 70 groups of over 100 people, yielding over 12,000 apprehensions. He noted that the previous year there were 13 such groups; the year before that only two. He also pointed out that the large groups are entering through rugged terrain in Arizona and New Mexico that is quite far from the central processing areas, medical services, and transportation services the U.S. has. Hastings added that drug cartels are using the large groups to distract Border Patrol agents so that the cartels can conduct their transport and machinations unimpeded. Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Kevin McAleenan added, “It should be very clear from these numbers that we are facing alarming trends in the rising volume of people illegally crossing our southwest border or arriving at our ports of entry without documents. This increased flow presents, currently at our highest level in over a decade, both a border security and humanitarian crisis.” He warned, “The system is well beyond capacity, and remains at the breaking point." McAleenan concluded, “Every single day, smugglers and traffickers profit from human misery, exploiting people who are seeking a better life. Through human smuggling, transnational criminal organizations have established a new multi-billion dollar line of business. The situation is not safe for migrants; it challenges our ability to provide humanitarian care; it contributes to dangerous conditions on our border, and enables smuggling while enriching criminals. Regardless of anyone’s preferred policy outcome, the status quo is unacceptable. It presents an urgent and increasing crisis that needs to be addressed.
  16. Reminds SF (for some reason) of a Sheriff in the fictional town of Mayberry whose Deputy was allowed to carry a gun, but his one bullet was supposed to stay in his shirt pocket......
  17. I have a friend/neighbor that is employed at the County landfill. He described pretty much what you said, they sort it onsite versus at the point of pickup. In other words, I don't feel bad if all of my recycling winds up in the cardboard dumpster because it was raining and I didn't want to walk all the way down to the plastics or glass areas.
  18. Thanks for the clarification Fox. AND As I said, nice job. I think we can agree there is indeed a major problem on the border. We can agree to disagree on what we opine is the best solution. My belief is that a wall from end to end WILL absolutely stop the infiltration of ILLEGAL border crossing that has plagued every administration since and including Reagan. Stopping the illegal points of entry, and funneling immigrants through legal points of entry is what I (and I believe most others) want to see.
