The DC establishment (uni-party) is certainly terrified of another Trump presidency. SF has learned a new appreciation for the idea of a 3rd party from the past 2 elections where both (left and right) sides have successfully divided the voters into tribal entities that are fixed in place. Trump's win in 2016 slowed so much in the world that had relied on a Clinton victory meant to weaken the US leadership in the World. Russia had to wait 4 years to continue it's aggression in Ukraine.
