  1. Yes, 2014 and 2015 season under Coach Marsh. They were .500 both seasons and did them no favors in meeting Lowell and/ or Hobart in sectional. It really doesn’t matter if you don’t have or can keep your Jimmy’s and Joe’s.
  2. Munster is a very affluent community with arguably the best school system in NWI. They support all sports and pay their teachers and head coaches extremely well. They have two main issues as I see it. First and foremost, Munster is the medical hub for NWI and thus the demographics are heavily populated with Middle Eastern and Asian descent where football is not a sport they are familiar with. Second issue is Chicago Catholic League ie Mt Carmel, Brother Rice and St Rita scoop a lot of their very good athletes especially football and baseball players. Andrean will get some but historically not many. Munster is very competitive in really all of the other sports for both boys and girls. Football will remain a challenge. I feel the new coach for the past two seasons has them playing much better but the numbers aren’t high for a 5A enrollment.
  3. Success factor is not a good measure for pound for pound. SF points are determined by accumulating them in one’s said classification. Similar “ pounds” so to speak. Success in classifications that are above enrollment classification is a good qualifier, schedule strength and record vs schools above their enrollment is another, and margin of defeat vs larger school classes is another.
  4. Are we talking this season 2025 or over some period of time?
  5. Andrean makes this list for sure. Enrollment 455
  6. I watched the Chatard vs Jeff game. Excellent game between two very good teams. WJ offense can score on anyone but their defense can be scored on by anyone. BC did whatever they wanted offensively both power running and throwing. As this relates to Merrillville, I believe Merrillville offense is as high powered as BC with actually better athletes. LJ defense will give up many points to Merrillville. I also think LJ will score on Merrillville but not at the same rate. Teams that have a strong power running game give Merrillville fits not fast athletic teams like LJ. If both teams remain healthy, I’ll take Merrillville by 10+.
  7. So basically just another stupid statement on your part based on no logic. Typical.
  8. I would like you to explain your logic that formulates your opinion that the NW is the easiest road in all classes to semi state.
  9. Okay I’ll take your bait. I don’t thing anyone is saying harder. It’s your second paragraph statement that is ridiculous. Please explain your logic for every class not just one or two but all 6. I’m all ears/ eyes.
  10. There is no such thing as a cakewalk to semi state due to health. In all classes but especially lower classes, staying healthy is paramount because you don’t have the depth. Andrean has been playing without one of their top players all season except for first half of game 1 vs Merrillvile and it shows. Offense has been a challenge without him.
  11. I have alot of respect for Coach Marshall and he will have them improved. Having said that, they just don’t have any horses. They’re not as big up front as they usually are, the qb is not bad but no threats at rb or wr. Defensively, they play hard and schemed ok but not stout or fast. Bad combo. They are young also. It’s just not their year.
  12. Michigan City is way over rated. They beat a bad Valpo team. Jeff thumped them and he’ll Hanover game the score is very misleading as HC kept shooting themselves in the foot. The DAC has two quality teams ; CP and Merrillville. The rest are average to bad.
  13. Did you watch the game??? No you didn’t. Him just being a you know what!! It was 37-3 when Merrillville puts subs and subs to the subs in.
  14. Was Gibbs in the field in the 4th quarter? If yes, then CP was not subbing.
  15. You did and I respect you for it.
  16. If I’m not mistaken, you are the same guy that had Pike beating CP like a mule. Well how’d that turn out?
  17. I would have CP in top 5.
  18. You are correct. CP was up handily…28-0 I think at one point. Merrillville is very talented at skill positions but oline is average at best. Defense is very fast but can be run on vs teams with good and big olines like CP. Merrillville is definitely a top 20 team in the state and I would argue top 15. CP on the other hand proves again that they can play against fast, athletic teams this year but how will they fair vs bigger and just as physical teams as them??? CP defense is much improved from last year and the offense is a power running team with a passing attack to TE’s. Boring but effective.
  19. Any top 25 list that does not include Merrillville has no credibility. None, Zippo. Merrillville would beat all the teams from your 16-25 and possibly 14-25.
  20. BG transfer… that’s a reach They will move him all over on offense this year.
  21. Could happen but don’t see it though. CP is reloading at skill positions mainly QB. RB will be an improvement from Ellison who was good but small. Gibbs is a beast 6’4 235 at RB, great athlete. CP secondary is always suspect imo. It shouldn’t be though with over 200 kids out for FB one would think you could find 4 db’s. So I don’t see Pike stopping CP ground attack and passing to TE’s. I could see Pike with their athleticism pass on CP. CP wears them down with long drives and limits possessions. CP by 14
  22. Although CP lost a lot of key players, I don’t see Pike winning this game. Pike needs to get ready for a physical, ball control offense especially if it’s true Gibbs has moved to RB. CP will grind the clock and limit Pike’s possessions.
  23. Excellent idea, Kudos to GS and ER fan bases and administration for supporting it!!
  24. It is apparent that this is a very polarizing topic with parties on both sides not willing to come to any alignment or agreement. After reading all of these responses, no one has actually answered the original question which is “Will Vouchers affect the football landscape in Indiana?” Indiana has had vouchers of some form since 2011 and my viewpoint is that it has had very little impact on the football landscape. I’m basing this solely on the State tournament results and without any hard data just perception. I think the Success Factor has had more of an impact than vouchers. Transfer Portal is the new variable that may or may not affect the landscape. TP and enhanced voucher program might change it but it will be hard two separate the two changes independently. In my opinion, vouchers alone won’t change it because it really hasn’t in 14 years.
