Remember the devices your wore around your neck to make your brain swell?
On 7/27/2023 at 8:27 AM, Bobref said:The device was called a Q-Collar. The theory was that the collar, by compressing the internal jugular veins in the neck, increased the volume of blood in the brain’s vessels, leaving less room for the brain to slosh around inside the skull. Theoretically, less sloshing = fewer and/or less severe concussions. I don’t recall any scientific data showing it actually worked.
I remember talking about the Q-collar a few years back when it was in testing…you can buy it here now !

Rochester averages 40 points a game, so they are more than capable of putting up more than just a few touchdowns. I understand the strength of schedule isn't great, but they scored 23 on a Peru defense that only allowed 27 against Guerin. Rochester also did it running the ball where Guerin did a lot of their damage through the air. As far as pass defense goes, they played a Maconaquah team that averages 271 passing yards a game and that had thrown for 28 touchdowns to just 14 points.
On the right track here! About the only two comparisons you can make for the two teams is Lcc played Guerin and lost 27-3. Rochester played Peru and lost 34-23. Guerin beat Peru 27-19. Lcc played West Lafayette and lost 37-7. Rochester played Valley and lost 39-8. Valley beat West Lafayette 35-13. Both teams have beaten who they are supposed to and lost to who they are supposed to. Which team is going to win a 50-50 game that in my opinion neither team has had this year? It's going to come down to senior leadership, defensive execution, and who can win the turnover battle. Like you said should be a great game and in my opinion the game of the week in the 2A North.
I know Rochester gets greif for their schedule but other than the 3 early season games, LCCs isn't anything to brag about. It doesn't help them not being tested for so long...

The more I look at it, the more I think the North will be represented by Rochester/LCC/Laville with a possibility of Bluffton. I don't think Luers is as good as people think, and i think their record is very misleading. Luers got blown out by their two non-conference opponents on the schedule, not to say they weren't good teams, but they weren't even competitive. The Fort Wayne schools as a whole only beat each other without making much noise outside of Carroll and Snider outside of the conference. If you watch Luers play, outside of pretty good defense, there isn't any consistency in the offensive game plan, no identity from what I can see. Just athletes making some plays here and there and the further you get into the playoffs, the more athletes everyone has. I just don't think they are going to go as far as people think they are going to go.
You may be right about Luers but I'm not quite ready to bail on them yet ! Could be they were looking ahead cause they know Eastside will be tough !

Last years regular season score was 31-30 Chatard and Guerin missed on a 2 pt conversion at the end of the game. The score of their playoff game was 49-13. I don’t think it will be as lopsided this year but I also don’t think Guerin scores more than 10 points this time. I would put my money on a healthy BCHS scoring more than 10. A healthy Chatard scores at least 28.
Good point bringing up last years contests... I see it playing out about the same. I figure Tippy Valley about the same as Guerin(based on Tippys and Perus games vs Rochester) and we seen what Chatard did to Tippy !

LCC vs Rochester has the makings of being a classic !
Peru gave Guerin a better game than LCC and they didn't beat the Zebras by much !
My oh my... who gonna come out on top !!!

Gee whiz !!! Who else we gonna bring in this thread ? There is a 2A north thread....please take it there ! https://gridirondigest.net/topic/7781-2a-north/

Yeah after watching Laville play against pass happy 320 plus offensive lineman I’m ago with Laville
2 hours ago, mumm6866 said:Nope I’m talking Semi State but it seems this site has mass confusion about people posting… I would at this moment take Laville over Rochester or LCC… I didn’t realize everything needed to be explained in depth on this site.. Laville just handled Andreans pass attack with ease
over the years, have seen several posters say crap like this only to see them eat crow... gonna be fun !
we'll get to Laville in due time.... this ain't the time !
you're more than welcome to start your own thread !

Unless it was between '73 and '93, Chatard has never played Cathedral in a sectional game.
I dont put much stock in what Trojan said.... weak sandbagging attempt IMO!

That's a bold assessment. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I'm not saying it's incorrect either. I'm gonna say the games mentioned will be closer than they appear. This is the Sectional of death by the way. Enjoy what we can and predict what we think we can. Enjoy life either way.
First off, Thank you for your service to our country !

You all can talk up Cathedral all you want but fact is Chardard beat them with a lees than 100% healthy team from what I understand !!!

I don't think TV is ready for the smoke that Chatard is about to bring.
Chatard likely 3A state champ.
Likely??? Chatard would make a serious run in 6A if not win it !
13 hours ago, Tippy said:It might be their 2nd best season in school history. In 1979 TV went 13-0 and won the 1A state title 44-14 over Hamilton SE. Their closest game that year was 26-7.
Nice info ! Thanks !!!

Probably not but their resume is slightly better than both IMO.
NorthWood has fans on here?
I’ve got Decatur Central at 26, Leo at 35 and East Noble at 36.
There you go… if we all agreed around here, it would be an awfully boring place !

i'd replace your 22-24 with Decatur Central, East Noble and Leo in no particular order...possibly bump LC to 22 and those 3 at 23-25
just my opinion ! 😉

Nope.
But winning games eventually has to matter…can only rank so many sub .500 MIC/HCC teams.
East Central rolls them 41-14, lol.
i'm still confused...
None of this explains Northwood at 23.... maybe their one point win over Mishawaka or the 24 point loss to Warsaw ?
BTW, thanks for the badge of honor ! I'll wear it with pride !!!

Thoughts on this one? Lot of good teams in this sectional. I know Chatard is being labeled the favorite, but Guerin took them to OT, and Tippecanoe Valley/Hamilton Heights both undefeated and look very tough.
Chatard is a lock !!!
Nice try !
The other games will be interesting !

i''m confused
Why Northwood at 23 ?... not only ahead of Warsaw but they lost to Northridge who gave said Warsaw team a better game !!!
