Again, extreme outliers that are exactly that, outliers. Ohio also has 2x as many high schools playing football schools than the state of Indiana. I can hardly envision a scenario where a 9-0 team in Indiana isn't at least one of the 32 top rated schools in their respective class regardless of the schedule.

If they play bluffton’s schedule they might be (maybe should be) left out.  They went and picked up the... case in point they picked up prairie heights in place of the jets tonight

Hopefully COVID isn't going to start ruining things. I'm concerned since AC has closed school the next 2 weeks & not playing Bluffton tomorrow. I'm sure the Woodlan game will probably get scratched, but hope I'm wrong. Really would suck if they have to bow out of the playoffs due to COVID, but safety is the priority. Hopefully SA doesn't get hit by it. That would be very cruel and devastating to see (even for Jets & Braves fans).

Sectional 19 is a pretty interesting one. Leo and Northridge seem to be the teams to beat. Curious how the draw ends up in this sectional for sure. East Noble will also be a threat with the return of their best player last week you could see a monumental difference.

    SECTIONAL 19
      Sect Class Overall
    Northridge 2-  0 4-  0 5-  1
    Angola 1-  0 2-  0 4-  1
    Leo 1-  0 3-  1 6-  1
    East Noble 2-  1 4-  1 4-  3
    Columbia City 1-  1 3-  1 6-  1
    NorthWood 1-  2 1-  2 2-  3
    Wawasee 0-  2 0-  3 2-  5
    DeKalb 0-  2 0-  3 0-  4

Sectional 3 is another great sectional in the northeastern part of the state. Homestead and Carroll had a shootout with Homestead pulling away in the 4th. Not sure how Bart Ball is going to fair against any of the teams in this sectional.

    SECTIONAL 3
      Sect Class Overall
    Homestead 2-  0 2-  0 6-  1
    Carroll (Fort Wayne) 1-  1 1-  1 5-  2
    Warsaw 0-  0 0-  0 6-  1
    Fort Wayne Snider 0-  2 0-  2 4-  3

I don’t see anyone hanging with Leo.   CC Leo tonight.

By next week, I will have officiated 9 of the 13 teams on this list.  Not so sure that the list is true representation of the "abilities" of the teams.  But to each his own, with the rankings.

The postseason will provide a great opportunity to distinguish the differences...within the classes they each represent.

Given ur familiarity with the teams I’d be interested in ur top 10

Did you ever go to a party, or an event, or a meeting of some type with a spouse or a friend or an associate, get there, and then look at your friend and say, "what are we doing here, we dont belong here."  "We have no friends here."

Im starting to get that feeling about my association with The GID.

The PP supporters have left the site.  The elimination of the OOB forum cleansed a lot of the riff raff from this place.  Now, intolerance and extreme myopia have compromised the ability to have a good discussion.

Ive always leaned towards more controversial topics , bacause frankly, they are much more interesting than reading about what is going on in the Sagamore Conference.

At some point however, people who are uber resistant to change or lack the ability to embrace new concepts have heard enough.

I think we have reached that point here

Im not a revolutionary, or a change agent, or a football hater.  I simply have watched the game evolve over the years, and see common sense solutions designed to maintain a fair level of play for all schools involved.  Ive also watched football take a nose dive relative to its place in our overall culture while its most ardent supporters remain devoted to supporting and maintaining the status quo.

Im not after anybodys program.  I just think that we have too many of them still in operation who are not performing, just like we have too many restaurants, convenience stores, tattoo shops, and shopping malls.

Have you heard enough?  I think you probably have.

Shopping malls exit for the consumer while HS football exists for the participants.  Granted some of the play is not good.  But the players are afforded the opportunity to play which, in my opinion, is what is most important.

  6. Bellmont at Dekalb - DeKalb has a very capable O line.  If they can stay close and control the ball they’re dangerous (see CC game earlier this year).  Rooting for braves but DeKalb just too much at home 10-7

East Noble at New Haven - EN found their stride last week.  NH just hard to figure out this year.  EN 28 - 13

Leo at Columbia City - CC needs possessions but won’t get many.  Leo 35-7

Norwell at Huntington North - HN may have some injury issues.  Trap game for Norwell with CC next week.  Norwell 24-7

I coached my son in baseball until his 8th grade year, all in Rec.  We both loved it. I will say, I had the benefit that he was legit one of the better players each year.  Not sure I would want to coach him in "school sports"

One if the things I developed early on with him was the minute we got into the car, he would start talking about the game.  I would stop and ask if he wanted to talk to dad or coach.  He almost always asked for coach.  He wanted to get better.  He is now in HS, and plays three sports, and while I miss being on the field with him, I love to just watch.  I would never trade those memories.

Would / could / should  U Coach him now in HS?

I don't have a dog in the fight, but I know a good football team when I see one. Kind of like South Adams..........a very good team that would wax many schools twice their size. Last year Homestead beat Dwenger because they were the better team. Then they lost their running back Braeden Hardwick at the end of the season. Ask any player, coach, or fan at Homestead if they were a different team after that. It's the same thing with Dwenger not having their RB Tippmann playing in the game. And it still took Homestead a last second score to to force overtime. Dwenger has a special team this year. It's a shame they won't be able to call themselves SAC champs. It's ok though, they've got their sites on getting to the state championship game.

Good luck to the Starfires. This could be their year.

Who else is there?  AC?  Nope.  Southwood?  Nope.  LCC?  Nope covid.  So down to state go the star fires... Lutheran?  Yep

YUP! Been beating that drum for several years. Having coached wrestling for 12 years - I've seen it can be done. Was it always perfect?? No, but a heckuva lot better than the alternative (blind draws)

Unfortunately - if it doesn't have the support of coaches - it will never make it to the IHSAA. And sadly, 50% of coaches (estimate) are always gonna like the "blind draw" - cause they could be coaching that 2-7 or 1-8 team that gets the dream draw and makes it all the way to the Championship, only to be drummed by 30.

Been on both sides of that coin over the years.  1 win season and u draw another 1 win school 1st round and it breathes life into the team (for at least a week).  Double ur win total for the year!  Alternatively, solid season and and get stuck in the bracket with the other top 3 teams.  Teams u smoked during the season playing after ur done. Championship is settled long before the title game.  Can see both sides which is why it likely will never happen.

Then you are fine! Just another strange variation of this play. It's why it's so important to understand the what of the rules and then be able to piece it together on the field so you know how to rule.

And the fans in the stands cheer politely as they accept the call on the field. 🙂

  11. Bellmont at New Haven - NH at home.  Seemed to wake up last week in 2nd half.  Need a W after losing 3 straight.  They get it 34-13

Columbia City at East Noble - bad match up for EN as their secondary is weak and CC wants to air it out.  Best game of the week.  CC 35-28

Dekalb at Norwell - Norwell has given up 49 total points and that includes a pick 6 and a scoopnscore on offense.  Homecoming at the courtyard, no ticket restrictions... Norwell 24-13

Huntington North at Leo - HN run centric offense not a good match up for Leo front 7.  Leo 38-7

Predicting a 3 way tie for conference at end of the year.  Has been a great conference season thus far.
