  1. Alright, who all is doing the Temp eliminator contest... I am so torn on 6A, do I play it safe with a game I am dang near 100% sure of and take less points or risk the entire 6A on the Southport/Arsenal Tech game for a huge injection of points. I am at a crossroads. hahaha
  2. My father and I went to the Mishawaka v Northwood game, it ended up being more of a game than we expected after the first half Mishawaka produced. Northwood stormed back, had their chances to tie, but Mishawaka responded and held firm in the end. They got a late sack fumble that was ran back for a TD. They are lined up to face St. Joe, who has a heck of a defense and that game could be one heck of a sectional championship (assuming both teams take care of business on Halloween). If your team in not in it anymore and you want to potentially see a great game I recommend Mishawaka/St. Joe.
  3. Wes-Del you didn't show up!!! dang it!
  4. Sure, they have every chance to prove that in the tournament. Teams that win their games Like Carmel and CP should be granted their reward of home games. I am not saying Westfield is bad or less than CP, based on merit of winning their schedule they earned the two spot. I punished Penn for their weak schedule but yet still gave them the five seed because they took care of business. Even though every person that lives south of 24 believes that Penn would be a sub .500 team in the HCC most years. Which is likely true, but again, win your schedule and get the rewards of playing home playoff games.
  5. Do we not still reward winning? CP's 9-0 is better than Penn's, but Fishers and Westfield's records are better than Penn's 9-0 as well. This is the SEC conversation over and over and over again. These teams are so good they should be rewarded no matter what. 3 and 4 seeds vs the 2 and 3 seed is picking nits. It is not like I put them 5-9.
  6. How I would do this, it takes into account record but also who you have played and tries to balance them. North - 1. Carmel - 16. Portage 2. CP - 15. Harrison (WL) 3. Westfield - 14. LC 4. Fishers - 13. Noblesville 5. Penn - 12. Snider 6. HSE - 11. Zionsville 7. Carroll - 10. Elkhart 8. Homestead - 9. Northrop South - (this was harder for me, being from the North) 1. Brownsburg - 16. Southport 2. CG - 15. N. Central 3. Lawrence North - 14. Jeffersonville 4. Decatur Central - 13. Arsenal Tech 5. Warren - 12. Perry Meridian 6. Lawrence Central - 11. Pike 7. Avon - 10. Ben Davis 8. Franklin Central - 9. Columbus North So many teams around .500 in the south it is hard to point to where they should be ranked. Clearly with Sagarin it takes some of the subjectiveness away. Sorry I should have said that, Since Temp mentioned that is how you did it, I just wanted to post it if anyone missed that thread.
  7. This is @Indiana Fan's post on how he would see the tournament. #1 Carmel vs #16 Portage #8 Zionsville vs #9 Homestead #5 Penn vs #12 Elkhart #4 Crown Point vs #13 Noblesville #3 Fishers vs #14 Lake Central #6 HSE vs #11 Harrison (West Lafayette) #7 Carroll (Fort Wayne) vs #10 FW Northrop #2 Westfield vs #15 FW Snider SOUTH: #1 Brownsburg vs #16 Arsenal Tech #8 Franklin Central vs #9 Ben Davis #5 Avon vs #12 North Central (Indianapolis) #4 Decatur Central vs #13 Perry Meridian #3 Lawrence North vs #14 Jeffersonville #6 Lawrence Central vs #11 Pike #7 Warren Central vs #10 Columbus North #2 Center Grove vs #15 Southport
  8. Realistically, Take into account the records plus who they have played. Like Penn is not the 3 seed even though record says they would be. split north south obviously.
  9. If you have a burner on the sideline, first play throw it deep. See if the Penn secondary is as good as they have played all season. Penn relies on getting to the quarterback. If they can get to him either with the sack or with pressure their DBs can make plays down the field. The O, can become pass happy at times. Which is frustrating when they are a good running team. They have quality backs and even a back that if you get him into space can become a big problem. 3 is shifty hard to bring down, 4 is a hard runner that can brake a play wide open and 10 is the bruiser of the group.
  10. @temptation how would you seed this years tournament if you had the power? @23andCounting how would you seed this years tournament if you had the power?
  11. 1A - Wes-Del #223 over Tri sectional 44 2A - Manchester #188 over Prairie Heights sectional 35 3A - Crawfordsville #234 over Speedway sectional 29 4A - Plymouth #158 over SB Washington sectional 18
  12. Crown Point 7-0 291 87 9- 0 350 94 Won 9 Merrillville 6-1 279 111 7- 2 334 146 Won 6 Michigan City 5-2 192 147 6- 3 252 193 Lost 1 Chesterton 4-3 151 172 5- 4 174 211 Lost 2 LaPorte 2-5 90 200 3- 6 128 248 Won 1 Lake Central 2-5 104 189 3- 6 156 247 Won 1 Valparaiso 2-5 148 158 2- 7 180 222 Lost 1 Portage 0-7 74 265 0- 9 102 352 Lost 10 I think Chesterton down are 100% guaranteed wins. I think MC and Merrillville would be games but I think BD wins them in the end.
  13. So, BD would be the second best team in the DAC, if they played a DAC schedule.
  14. Is it that Penn is improved to CP or CP has come back to Penn? I think Penn's O is much improved from last year, the D benefits from not being on the field all game long. However, the issue of quality opponents I think becomes a factor. Penn has been punched in the mouth and responded once this year. But, it wasn't punch after punch, I think if CP wins the coin toss they should take the ball to test Penn's D right off the bat.
  15. Probably, just trying to be somewhat positive...
  16. I am taking St. Joe to face Mishawaka in the Sectional final. That means Riley is going to get beat, I think Washington gets beat by Plymouth, while NP and Marian go down in close games.
  17. So, Penn's offense went missing for the second quarter and some of the third. That is partially due to St. Joe having a decent D, but Penn could not stop trying to shoot their feet off. If it wasn't for a pick 6, that game is likely 14-0 at half. Oh boy am I worried about the sectional title game.
  18. Yes, but if Penn goes Independent in football only with an agreement to keep NIC teams on the schedule....just not all of them every year, that benefits everyone. Washington and Riley dropped to the "small schools" division because they were tired of playing Penn. My proposal is to play the three SB schools on a rotating basis. Play the two Catholic schools every other year. Drop NP all together. Keep Elkhart for a yearly local 6A matchup. Work something out with the NLC that makes the Penn Mishawaka game the final game of the season every year. That is 4 local games every year that costs little to nothing to travel. Go get teams from MI, OH, Indy, FW and the DAC That would be a top schedule every year. Or, Join the Summit conference and talk them into dropping the crossover games and go to more non-conference games. Since we are technically closer to FT Wayne by 5 miles. 🤣
  19. I still think Penn wins those games by an average of 25 points in the preposed new NIC.
  20. I like your thinking, I think as a while even though it would be a haul to Warsaw, NP would probably prefer to be with Penn and Elkhart rather than the NLC conference. I would prefer we swap Washington and Mishawaka, but we know that will never happen.
  21. Carmel 74.56% 62.11% 55.15% 39.83% Westfield 21.92% 14.39% 10.83% 5.51% Zionsville 3.23% 1.28% .66% .18% Harrison (West Lafayette) .30% .04% .01% Brownsburg 72.32% 52.22% 39.58% 22.14% Avon 22.33% 10.79% 5.77% 1.99% Ben Davis 3.71% .93% .27% .05% Pike 1.64% .29% .06% .01% Harrell's tournament odds woof...predestined.
