  1. Question, How is Hamilton not being looked at by Purdue or IU? https://247sports.com/Recruitment/donovan-hamilton-159160/RecruitInterests/ And people wonder why they aren't competitive....They don't even get the best players from their own state.
  2. Didn't Mr. Football from a couple of years ago go to Purdue with Brohm ..... Did he leave?
  3. @temptation Is there a list of the guys they beat out? Sorry, It may have been shared in another thread, just haven't seen.
  4. I agree, it would just be much harder to swallow if this game would have been close or some how it swung the outcome of the game. You are 100% correct these things happen, but man, I would be mad if it had cost my team the game.
  5. Their closest game was Moeller...If there was any fight put up against them, he would have probably added a few more scores. As Joel Klatt says you need to have an out pitch....Ringer was that for EC.
  6. If the kid scored 60 touchdowns this year...probably not many. Should a young man be punished because his conference is weak. He did his job. Burton won Mr. Basketball by scoring 30ish points per game...and the NIC is not the top basketball conference in the state. Sometimes, players can supersede the uncontrollable limitations around them and perform to a level that is again undeniable. If this young man was on CG and put up 30 touchdowns...we would still be talking Mr. Football. I think he has surpassed those type of limitations so much so, that he is for sure a strong candidate for the award, he may not win it, but he is in the conversation that is for sure.
  7. I agree with you that it is natural to want to look at a player of O'Neil and Cherry's caliber, and want to include their body of work into the conversation. They are deserving of great Honors...It just boils down to Ringer went off this year.. It is almost undeniable.
  8. This is similar to the Colt McCoy argument for Heisman, they guy was the most winningest QB at the time, had a solid senior year, but people were arguing from a career standpoint for him as the Heisman winner.
  9. My guy (Sanders) you have to earn it, not just be given it because you are a school legend. That would be like Florida handing the Keys to Danny Wuerrffel just because he won a natty and the Heisman.
  10. You also have to consider what part of the playoffs we are in. Not every game can be televised and most high school stadiums would require half a dozen, maybe more, additional camera angles to help provide a decent assortment of angles to help do replay. Really right now, until the IHSAA goes to neutral site semi-state games, state is the only place that can handle the angles required to provide the production of angles needed for replay.
  11. I think that is actually the problem in any replay concern at any level. For example, it took a specific camera in the Georgia-Ohio state game to pick up the brock bowers play. That angle is not used in every game during the regular season. Some angles are used only in Televised games, so non televised or regionally televised games have less to work with. as you know means higher failure/call stands rate of replay calls.
  12. Which makes sense...Indiana like many things is behind the times. Thanks @Bobref I was not aware of this.
  13. I mean, I think Prime will listen to them especially if the money is right, but would Tallahassee forgive him for taking those jobs?
  14. From the replay, it looked like the ref was in a bad position and not looking at the play. I think this is why there should be some sort of limited replay abilities in the state final game.
  15. This is before I actually paid attention to Mr. Football, but was Drue Tranquill out of Carroll considered for the award?
  16. Look at Basketball last year, Burton wasn't the biggest played, didn't have all the big time offers. But, his stats were undeniable.
  17. He could be in consideration if he wins his position's Mr. Football
  18. Sometimes that is the same person. But, not always. There is a pretty good post in another thread about what they are looking for. From what I gathered, the winner of the award is selected from the group of Mr. Football position winners. So, this young man would need to win his position to even be considered Mr. Football overall.
  19. He really rocks the half smile with the I am terrified to be in front of a camera look.
  20. Zionsville works too. Well I think that this group of dudes could come up with a better system than what the IHSAA currently is working with.
  21. never-mind.. I actually clicked on the BD's profile....that is 10-12 enrollment.
  22. I found a site that has Warren at 3800 kids...BD at 3200 kids https://www.niche.com/k12/search/largest-high-schools/s/indiana/
  23. I hate that they continue to do things like this. Force two good teams from near Indy down into the south. The Ft. Wayne guys could speak to this better, but I doubt Northrop wants to play 6A tourney ball, give them their reprieve and let them go down to 5A. That means there is no need to force anyone south. Portage is not competitive in 6A anymore, send them down to 5A and move Valpo up. Laf Harrison is the wild card, if they move up. I would like to keep Warsaw in 6A, give 5A either Indy Tech or Jeffersonville. That will require one of the teams you listed to move south. Give them Carmel.
