Oh I get it.  Just busting your balls.

ND’s arrogance prevented them from doing it until now…wonder why.

    One word:  optics

    Couldn’t agree more.

Notre Dame’s arrogance is well documented and widely known nationally.

Their schedule was soft this past season but it is not their fault.  Their rivals sucked and they simply out talented everyone.

I am not against playing FCS opponents (1 maximum) as I actually think that power five teams that schedule other power fives in the nonconference are dumb.

Why in the hell should Notre Dame care what anyone thinks?  Due to their brand, if they run the table they are in and 95% of the time or even in with one loss.  Let the talking heads debate that nonsense.

I will also say that the SEC scheduling them in week 13 is an absolute joke.

Back to my actual point though…ND will get positive publicity for this move which is the sole intent.  They didn’t just schedule ANY FCS school, they scheduled an HBCU.

In 2022, that’s better publicity than scheduling Alabama.

    Bingo. All for show.

Ask the National Federation. They put it in the rule book. Or ask the IHSAA. They’re the ones that direct us to enforce the rule.

The rule had its origins back when people were wearing black strips under their eyes with messages on them (Tim Tebow), or used the eyeblack to paint symbols or signs on their faces. No doubt some of these were unsportsmanlike references to the opponent. So, the rule was created to standardize the use of eyeblack to its original purpose: to avoid light reflecting off the cheekbones which can affect vision. The rule as written allows that.

As to why it is enforced more strictly in football, I can’t answer that. To be honest, I don’t even know what the baseball rule says.

    Don't forget Reggie Bush.

Things that make you go "hmmmmmmm".

Sounds like the pandemic has been very, very good to IU Health.

it's been very good financially to so many in the healthcare industries.  Scamdemic.

hope all the bastards are held responsible for this shi....

That’s like saying a surgeon and an executioner are the same. After all, they both cut off body parts from living people, don’t they? If you’re going to make the case that one group is being treated unfairly, the analysis should be a bit more in depth than what you’ve offered.

    Oh, I concur.

I am saying both groups use the same "logic", but one group truly does care what is best for the student.

Thank you.  I don't recall ever hearing about a public sector teacher's union advocating the banning of books from school libraries.  Do you have a link(s)?

Also I'm wondering if book banning and book burning are functionally the same thing.  Never really thought about it...........

And I really don't think teacher's union necessarily want what is best for kids,  some of these union's actions during the pandemic really highlight that IMHO.  And you have to look at what the core mission of a public sector labor union is. It's too protect it's members above all else.

I will send you a dm w an exact story from my teaching career.  Would that suffice?

    Very fair point.....

    Agreed.

Congratulations to Justice Jackson on her historic bipartisan confirmation as the first African American woman to sit on the Court. Now, let’s roll up the sleeves and get to work.

I did not know she was from Africa?  Does she hold duel citizenship?

Yes, the Silver Dollar in Elwood

Absolutely not. It's an invitation to the lawsuit mediation. In the alley behind the bar at sunset.

As I explained last week, that car has been sitting there 2 years. It belonged to the last out of towner who walked into the bar. He was never seen again. When questioned about him, the patrons all said he 'was offered an NIL deal' and then 'entered the transfer portal'.

Oh.  Thought that might have been where you met the misses or misters.

I don't think this particular tag was out of nowhere, Irishman. You have participated in this forum thread in the past have you not?  Even if most of your participation is downvoting posts.

And it is your decision to ignore the tag or not.    If this forum functionality is so disruptive and invasive to the user receiving the tag perhaps it should be disabled?

Purple for Parents?  I am not familiar with this organization.  At least it doesn't ring a bell.

    Sure.  Happy to help.

  9. Scary that educators are sticking their heads in the sand (or other places) when in comes to the complete corruption of teachers unions, that has recently been released (well some of us knew and tried to share, but got zuckered or called a conspiracy theorist or a purple for parents supporter).

Kind of funny how Purple for Parents got all the bad publicity, but the red for ed are the ones with all the FACTS out to hurt them.

Almost like the leftie teachers unions and their minions were purposely slandering the PFP.

I see tons of red for ed posters around school.  Wonder what would happen if we start to see Purple for Parents signs start popping up?

    Whatcha say Irishman?

You ever get the feeling they are now grasping at something to keep this alive and people panicked??

A "Frankenstein" (sub)variant of a variant that combined with another variant from another variant, and BTW - THIS ONE MAY BE EVEN MORE TRANSMISSIBLE THAN THE LAST ONE THAT WAS THE MOST TRANSMISSIBLE!!

IDK - keep following the science I guess.....wink, wink.....

Note to the GID - please say your prayers for the Speaker of the House and all the Democrats who were with her and the President yesterday.  (The outcome of what you are praying for is at your discretion of course)

    https://nypost.com/2022/04/07/frankenstein-covid-19-omicron-subvariant-xe-detected-in-uk/

A “Frankenstein”-style new Omicron subvariant is spreading in the UK — and some experts fear the mutation may be the most contagious form yet of COVID-19.

The XE variant — which has also been confirmed in India and Thailand — is a mix of Omicron’s BA.1 strain and the new “stealth” BA.2 form, the Daily Beast reported.

Such mutations are known as “recombinants,” and occur when a person gets infected with two or more variants at a time and they combine “Frankenstein” style, the outlet reported.

A total of 637 cases of the XE recombinant variant have been confirmed in the UK, according to data from the UK Health Security Agency.

It’s unclear whether XE causes more severe illness or evades vaccines, though early data suggests that it may be more transmissible than earlier forms of the Omicron virus.

“Early estimates suggest that XE has a community growth rate advantage of 1.1 (which represents a 10% transmission advantage) as compared to BA.2,” the World Health Organization said.

Or is this the first time you have ever seen a GID topic hijacked before?

Ah.  This is soooooo rich.  Spoken from the side of tolerance and acceptance by all.  Will not even listen and see facts.  Too late.  Your comments, or shall I say, lack thereof, speak volumes.  No wonder why so many families are choosing to leave public education.  They are beginning to see right through it all.  You guys keep up the charade.  I am trying to fix the brokenness from the inside.

Nice try though pal.  Good luck with that endeavor.  And this is all just the tip of the iceberg.

Trojan Dad is the one who brought up college tuition. College tuition has nothing to do with NIL for high school student athletes. He had a problem with the wage disparity also among high school students. If all high school students wanted to earn as much as one with a high school NIL deal, they should have become better athletes. Why begrudge the athlete who worked hard to earn a high school NIL his ability to earn what the free market will pay?

    Just an example here.....

Let's say your son gets an NIL for 1 million.  He is a minority.

My son does not.  He is not a minority.

    Equal players.

That is unfair.  I want the same amount.  I will file a law suit for discrimination.  See how that works.  Totally stupid isn't it?

A lot to answer.  Pandora's Box is wide open.  Best of luck shutting it.
