You said, "the best of 5A" which is New Pal. After that, I disregarded the rest of what you had to say. No one has hurt feelings here. -
Temp’s Top 25 (After Week 8)

Good team but not ready for the best 4A/5A has to offer either. You think they'd be competitive with Chatard and New Pal? I don't. Because the BLUE BLOODS are directly in their path to accomplishing anything due to geography, lol. Also, I am not including Franklin Central with those others. They have to beat CG once in the postseason to earn any stripes. Again? Damn. -

A "minor headache" like one gets when they are dehydrated. Northrop might have the best player on the field in your hypothetical scenario, but I guarantee Carmel/Brownsburg would have 15-16 of the remaining 21. Running clock easily. -

Not under Kevin Wright IMO. Not saying they couldn’t slip up, but if they do, it will be more so because of what Westfield (or someone else) does as opposed to what Carmel doesn’t do. -

I believe that 28-6 win over Decatur was the first for the DC backup who really came into his own in Polson’s absence. Do with that info what you wish. -

Crown Point/Carroll = The Field -
One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 1A tournament. The north portion looks pretty wide open on paper as a handful of squads who are heavy sectional favorite could provide for a must see regional round. This seems to be a very balanced side of the bracket. In the south, it appears that the two best teams are in the same sectional in South Putnam and Riverton Parke. They would meet up in the sectional title game, should chalk hold. South Putnam's lone losses are to 3A Edgewood and 4A Northview, whereas Riverton Parke has yet to be challenged. Springs Valley and North Decatur appear to be the best from the other half of the south bracket. The Blackhawks have been rolling people, though their schedule strength barely cracks the top 300, whereas North Decatur's lone blemish is to 2A powerhouse Linton. Temp's Title Odds: South Putnam: 30% South Adams: 25% Pioneer: 10% North Judson: 10% North Decatur: 10% Carroll (Flora): 5% Riverton Parke: 5% The Field: 5% Whatcha say?

One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 2A tournament. Adams Central looking to make it four consecutive trips to Lucas Oil with Andrean looking to avenge last season's semi-state loss on its home field. Sectional 36 boasts a handful of capable teams in the most balanced sectional in the state according to Sagarin. Will the survivor there have anything left? A handful of worthy squads in the south bracket. Brownstown Central has been on the doorstep too many times to count and will likely enter the postseason undefeated though this week's test against Scottsburg may be telling. Linton always has to be considered a threat, likewise for Indianapolis Lutheran and Triton Central. Lapel intrigues me also. This class may be the most unpredictable Temp's Title Odds: Brownstown Central: 25% Adams Central: 20% Andrean: 20% Linton: 10% Lapel: 10% The Field: 15% Whatcha say?

One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 3A tournament. Myles McLaughlin is the story here. The nation's leading rusher is putting up video game numbers on a weekly basis and legendary coach Russ Radke is looking to take the Redskins to uncharted territory. They are the favorites in the north but there are a handful of capable squads. The south boils down to a couple of story lines for me. Cascade has also been putting up video game numbers, albeit against a mediocre schedule which gives some folks pause. They finished the 2024 regular season undefeated also before getting upended by county rival Tri-West in the opening round of the tournament. The two are likely to meet again, this time in round 2. Gibson Southern and Evansville Memorial are breathing a sigh of relief that Chatard is now in 4A and both think it is their time. Neither has lost to an in-state foe and like Cascade/Tri-West, appear to be on a second round collision course. Temp's Title Odds: Gibson Southern: 30% Evansville Memorial: 30% Cascade: 15% Tri-West: 10% Knox: 10% The Field: 5% Whatcha think?

One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 4A tournament. Central Indy stalwarts Chatard and Roncalli likely see each other in the sectional semi-final where one of them goes home early. With the growth of the Indy suburbs, Pendleton Heights and Yorktown are sneaky good but not garnering much attention. Heritage Hills has the most talent in the field and should roll to semi-state. The South Bend are, NWI and Fort Wayne area each have a contender in the north. Who emerges? Temp's Title Odds: Bishop Chatard: 35% Heritage Hills: 30% Roncalli: 15% Mishawaka: 10% East Noble: 5% The Field: 5% Whatcha think?

One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 5A tournament. Is it still New Pal's to lose? A surging Cathedral has put that in doubt. Who emerges from the north and breaks through like Warsaw did last year? Bloomington South appears to be the class of southern Indiana. Can they make a run? Temp's Title Odds: New Palestine: 60% Indianapolis Cathedral: 25% Bloomington South: 10% The Field: 5% Whatcha think?

One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 6A tournament. About "as balanced" as its been in a while with Carmel in the north but one thing that stuck out to me is that amazingly every 6A bracket draw with the exception of Sectional 7 (which I maintain Warren's JV could win) pits the top two teams on opposite sides of the bracket, thus ensuring the best two teams meet for the sectional title if chalk holds. Its hard to not see a collision course between Carmel and Brownsburg, though I do give Westfield, Center Grove and Lawrence North a puncher's chance. Are teams like Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Decatur Central or Avon capabale of pulling an upset or two? Temp's Title Odds: Carmel - 30% Brownsburg - 25% Center Grove - 15% Westfield - 15% Lawrence North - 10% The Field - 5% Whatcha think?
