  1. Cardi B.... who 12 year girls look up to...  theme Poor boys don't get no p***y .  On one hand it is vile but on the other it is kind of funny if you really think about it. It's like a old coach said years ago, "that p***y is good but eventually you have to get out of bed and go to work." Any higher level management job requires you to sell your soul to the corporation. Twenty four, seven and 365... you are told you put in the time to get the job done. Yes the pay is great but the tolls on your life are high. Its a lifestyle choice some make; however, it is their choice.  It is just plain ignorance to make light of ones religion no matter what it is. You might not agree but everyone has the right to practice the religion of their choice. There were a ton of good points in this piece but again there is evil on both poles of liberal and conservative factions, I believe moderation is the key.

I just wonder how many guys there are out there like Les Miles, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Lots of people with this particular skeleton in the closet, I bet. In all walks of life.

    If we only knew.

Yeah, well the state does not care about the kids.  Take a look around the state at the sectional sites for basketball.  There are hundreds of people in gyms and student sections shoulder to shoulder with no masks and we are recording video of it and posting, but hey, some football place could only be at 25% and other sports like swimming had no fans allowed at the state finals.  As long as they are making money, that is all they care about

    It sure seems that way.

I think we can agree that, with the release of the LSU internal investigation, Les Miles is a Dead Man Walking as far as his tenure as Kansas’ HFC. Over/under on days before he and KU go their separate ways is 7-1/2. Whaddya got?

    Over/Under 5.

Well, you didn’t ask the question of me, but I’ll bite.

Compensation for work done is a contract. Provided there’s agreement on terms, workers should be compensated according to that contract. For example, if I stop at a light and a guy cleans my windows, without me asking him to, he’s performed labor, but is not entitled to compensation, since there was no prior agreement.

To refine your cross examination technique, you need to make sure your questions are answered either “yes” or “no,” if you want to keep firm control of the adverse witness.

    Spoken like a true attorney.

That has little, if anything, to do with the question that started this thread.

In part, the conversation had gotten a little off the path with domination comment. One point I will agree on is the differences today and the differences back in the 80's 90's era. The markers have moved and the gap is much larger here in the 21st Century. None of us has a crystal ball for those answers. Hobart is a stagnant population base, there are a few new subdivisions being built but not on a scale of the other areas in the Region. The head count has remained at 1340 to 1350 for many years which supports the stagnation comment. If anyone can take the program to the next level Craig Osika can accomplish the task. So for now the NCC is what Hobart needs to master.

Dont forget, Hobart never "dominated" the south.  They lost "7" state championship games in the Howell era in 11 trips.

    Make that 8 now.

Maybe not statewide but for the Region they dominated..... must admit TWELVE trips to the big show is more than most schools in the Region can claim.

The ass whipping that Roncalli gave to Hobart was probably a good thing for the Brickie program.  Craig Osika was there during the peak of the Hobart run and Ill bet that he took that beatdown very personally, probably much more than the players did.  But it still shows how wide the gap is between The Region and a state championship, at any level.

Well spoken, the gap has widened between the Region Teams and south from the time Hobart dominated in the 80's and 90's.

No they have trucks out there but it’s like in whiting the farthest point is 10 blocks from the school so it’s just different to me

Raised in rural Virginia, I was 9 miles from the school, which was surrounded by cornfields on three sides. Not so much these days with urban expansion and the death of the family farm. We had good support because it was the thing to do on Friday nights. Different times now...

I’ll speculate and probably step out of my lane (pun intended).

Having one guy in charge of both programs makes it a 365 day per year ordeal.  You can see your athletes nearly on a daily basis without violating any IHSAA protocols and work with them to improve their athletic profile.

I’ve met many egocentric coaches (more so in football than track) who brainwash the “specialization” nonsense along with threatening fall playing time.  I feel it’s gotten worse with the evolution of spring 7 on 7.  Man kids feel like they are missing out and falling behind if they play a spring sport...and it’s hard to do both effectively.

From purely a physiological standpoint, there is never anything wrong with improving your speed, strength, agility, reaction time, etc from participation in track and field in the spring.  It’s only going to help you in the fall.

Basketball coaches can be egocentric as well, threatening PT for not attending open gym.
