Joe Biden won't be President past January, 2023.  Been predicting this since the 2020 election.  He is the placeholder until then.  Have no prediction what will take him out, just that he will be out.

Shots fired! We'll see if any of the Judson crazies take this bait...

    No shots fired.

They had the Blount twins and Allen the tailback this year on that team. They had the frasure cousins and lineman like Dylan Marin, Benson and a Redlin.

They did what Winamac did last season and got over confident.

I am having flashbacks from last year, hearing how good Judson is supposed to be before they got taken to the woodshed at home.  AC could put a running clock on every opponent in the playoffs and it wouldn't be good enough for the people in North Judson. Until it happens to them of course.  They put up 6 points in the first half against Triton a few weeks ago, they are not some juggernaut team.

Yes AC has taken a step back from last year, there are like 5 seniors that play its still a fairly young team. That doesn't mean anything for the rest of the north.

Judson has a pretty rabid fan base.

They struggle to pass a little bit, their pass defense isn't the greatest either. They aren't overly quick either.

Last year gave them a bit of a big head when they went as far as they did. They really over achieved. Their 2020 Judson team is better then this one.

I would say they're comparable to an extent. HH's top three teams would be #1 in the MWC, but when comparing apples to apples both the conferences are down.

Yes. It's good to see Sheridan being good again.

I'm happy for Carroll, as a Winamac alum and who personally knows John Hendryx glad he's back there helping his son in law.  I think had his father not gotten sick sometime in 2005 (papa Jack Hendryx passed away in 06) I don't think John ever leaves Carroll.

WC had a good season, and I would say the conferences are comparable. With that being said, Caroll is a superior team and will have a running clock on WC Friday night.

I don't think they are comparable.

The MWC had 1 team make it to the 2nd round. The heartland had 4. HH had five teams with .500 or better records. Mwc had 3.

There's a huge huge reason why Pioneer, Winamac and Caston got out of the MWC (caston maybe should have stayed but that's a different story). I think if you flip Winamac and Carroll.  Winamac doesn't have a winning record overall playing HH teams.  They win the MWC and that's the 7th place team in the HNAC I'm talking about.

Winamac still lost to them... calm down. It took a late game punt return to make it even interesting. Can't fault them for a brutal conference when they took care of business with everyone in it. Compare Carrols conference to West Centrals and it's almost identical. Strength of schedules aren't far apart but Carrol is getting credit for being good and not the Trojans, should be a good one on friday night.

Make it interesting? Winamac was up 7-6 after 1, wc was up 14-7 at half and 20-7 at the end of 3 and Winamac outgained them lol the whole entire game. I don't know what game you were watching. I get it, you think you guys dominated winamac lol.

I saw them Friday night against a woefully undermanned team in Taylor. No idea what Carroll (Flora) brings to the table … but West Central was very underwhelming for a team with only 1 loss on the season.

    Their conference is absolutely brutal.

Winamac was very underwhelming this season with only 2 starters coming back and had 6 turnovers in their game against WC and lost by six. I don't think WC made it into the Red Zone. They scored on a 30+ yard run and a 97 yard scoop and score and a pick six. Winamac beat the #3 in the mwc by 4 tds with the back ups playing most of 3rd quarter and all of 4th.

It's west centrals best team since 2014 but the 2014, 2013 and 2012 teams would beat this wc team by 40+

Sweet 16 week! Time for the sectional finals and I'm curious about what the GID has to say about a couple of these matchups. For the most part, I think the favorites are pretty clear, but anything can happen in November...

Sectional 41: Culver @ North Judson (JH prediction NJ 49-7) - I think this one is pretty straight forward. I expect NJ to score a lot of points to try and prove that the Triton matchup was a one-time thing. Did Triton figure out a defensive formula to limit the high-flying NJ offense? Time will tell. The final score was misleading in that one, as the Blue Jays scored a couple of late TDs after some late-game desperation with a Shuh-less Triton.

Sectional 42: Traders Point @ Park Tudor (JH prediction PT 45-28) - This is an interesting one. Both teams are spread, pass first teams and will present an interesting challenge for North Judson next week. PT edged TP by 5 earlier in the season. I think the Blue Jays handle whoever comes out of Section 42.

Sectional 43: West Central @ Carroll Flora (JH prediction Carroll 35-21) - I expect Carroll Flora to take care of business in this one to set up a road trip to the Landing Strip in Monroe for a regional championship. Does West Central have any chance here? Honest question. I know Carroll is big, but what does WC do well?

Sectional 44: Adams Central @ Northfield ( JH prediction AC 49-14) - The AC offense looks like a machine right now. They have 4 guys who can hurt you on the ground at any point and they equally distribute the carries. AC's strength on D is their front 7 and I expect that to show on Friday against the Northfield option attack. AC has not faced many non-spread teams this year, so I'm curious to see how their guys adjust, as they'll need to defend the run well the next few weeks if they want a chance to make it back to LOS.

Sectional 45: Sheridan @ Hagerstown (JH prediction Sheridan 42-14) - I don't know much about the South this year, so I'll need to rely on other GID posters for these matchups.

Sectional 46: Knightstown @ North Decatur (JH prediction ND 42-0) - I expect North Decatur to advance and will be surprised if they aren't Lutheran's semistate opponent.

Sectional 47: Lutheran @ Covenant Christian (JH prediction Lutheran 49-21) - This is the matchup I'm most curious about, as AC pulled off a 42-19 win against CC in week 3. As an AC fan, this will be the only chance for me to compare the Jets to Lutheran if we make it back to state. The AC game easily could've been a much larger deficit.

Sectional 48: Tecumseh @ Providence (JH prediction Providence 31-30) - Congrats to the winners of sectional 48, but whoever comes out on top will only play 1 more week.

West Central has a couple nice athletes in the Marlatt boy and White boys...both are quick.  Pilarski is a good player and Beiswinger is a good lineman but their probably the weakest 10-1 you'd ever see.

The biggest drawback that I see for Rochester is that LCC's three losses have come with teams that have put the ball up in the air at least minimally.  Even HH, which had the least passing shots at LCC's defense still completed more passes in their game with LCC, 12, than Rochester has completed all season, 11.  HH even put up more passing TDs in that one game than Rochester has all season 3 to 2.  Guerin also put up 3 passing TDs and WL put up 3 passing TDs as well.

In watching LCC, their secondary was vulnerable in the air, which is uncharacteristic for LCC teams, but pretty decent when playing the expected run.  Where they got in trouble was when a team could keep them honest, or worse, burn them, when they were looking into the backfield from the secondary.  It will be interesting to see if they stuff 10-11 in the box and dare Rochester to throw on them.  Rochester only has 31 attempts for the season and hasn't completed a pass since September.  Of the 11 pass completions for the season, nine of them have been to a single person and he hasn't had a reception in a month and a half.

Both schools have played some 3A competition, but SOS, particularly for those 3A opponents goes in LCC's favor.  LCC still has three 3A opponents left in the mix right now including Hamilton Heights who is #16 Sagarin in 3A, Guerin who is #5 Sagarin in 3A, and WL #2 Sagarin in 3A while Rochester still has #13 Sagarin in 3A left in the mix.  The one thing that I am interested in is Rochester's last game against Benton Central.  BC hasn't entered stats, so it's hard to get some data points, but BC put up 26 points on Rochester, but put up zero on LCC.

It was 43-12 at the end of 3. I imagine Rochester's back ups were in when the last two scores occurred.

Sadly this is the underlying story for many many teams at this time of year

”if we only had that guy”

People often ask what it takes to win a championship….a fully healthy team is generally a must.

That's true. I still say that's what hurt our 2013 football team. QB broke collarbone week 6 against WC on defense. He missed week 7 through week 11. Played sectional final through semi state but wasn't the same player.

The back up QB filled in nicely but the offense had to change w him (thrower not runner).

HNAC teams took care of business last night in dominating fashion!  It sounds like there were some pretty impressive individual performances as well.  Triton surprisingly dominated Pioneer.  If not for 2 first quarter turnovers by the Trojans it would have been worse.

All the HNAC survivors should be favored next week.  It would be nice to see 4 teams advance to championship games.  LaVille's game with Andrean tops the docket.  That should be a really good game!  The Lancers can prove they belong if they can send the 59ers packing.  A lot of hype around that one.

We'll see if Triton can push Judson.  I'm hoping it's a good game, but geez... the Jays dropped 74 last night!

The Cavs should roll.  Knox will have a battle with West Noble, but hopefully they can win at home.

Hopefully everyone came out of the first round healthy and ready to go!

Triton get any points off the Pioneer turnovers?

Lakeland at Knox - The Redskins should feel good as they head into sectional play.  They are Sagarin's highest rated team in Sectional 26 and have played one the most difficult schedules of the group.  Nothing's a given when the tournament rolls around, but Knox has a chance to walk away with some hardware this year.  They'll be ready for the Lakers at home this week.  Knox Redskins 35-14

Whiting at LaVille - I can't imagine the Oilers having anything in their arsenal that will push LaVille.  They only average 12 ppg and LaVille's defense is probably one of the better ones they'll see all year.  Hopefully the Lancers can use this game to get their replacement quarterback feeling a little more comfortable.  LaVille Lancers 42-7

Winamac at Central Catholic - The Knights are a very balanced offensive attack and I don't see any way the Warriors keep this one close.  LCC will impose their will and they win this one going away.  Lafayette Central Catholic 45-7

North Newton at Culver - The winless Spartans come to Culver where they will receive a shellacking by the Cavs.  Lots of yards on the ground for Shuman and his running mates.  Culver wins this one easily on their road to the Sectional 41 championship game.  Culver Cavaliers 40-0

Triton at Pioneer - This is the most interesting matchup of the night.  I've been saying all year this Pioneer team is not as bad as their record makes them appear.  There are a lot of good teams in the HNAC this year!  I know they finished 6th, but look at the teams they lost to:  LaVille, North Judson, Triton and Culver all have the best teams they've had in years.  Knox is solid again.  And the Panthers' non-conference opponents were a combined 13-5.  So I see this game being close.  Triton is - and should be - the favorite.  But a letdown by the Trojans will end their season prematurely.  If I'm a Triton senior lineman, there's no way I'm letting a group of freshmen push me around.  Ultimately I think the experience of the Trojans will prevail, but it won't be decided until the 4th.  Triton Trojans 31-22.

North Judson at South Newton - South Newton has had a good year!  Winning 6 games is an accomplishment for sure.  But these two teams have lived in different worlds this season.  The Rebels were average in the very bad Midwest Conference.  The Judson option will run roughshod over the Rebels and it won't be close after halftime.  It should be a running clock for much of the second half.  North Judson Blue Jays 49-14

West Central at Caston - I would love to see the upset of the week happen in this one!  Caston played a difficult schedule and West Central's SOS was ranked 308th in the state!  That's in the bottom 3% statewide.  But they've won the games they've played, including a week one beating of the Comets.  I haven't seen anything from Caston to indicate they've improved enough during the season to give the Trojans a run for their money this week.  West Central Trojans 34-13

Imo. Culver's team last year was better then this season.. way more size and more weapons.

Judson beat us 55-8 last Friday and we had more positive takeaways than probably any game this season. Pioneer was inside Judson's 10 twice and came away with 0 points, dumb mistakes kept them out. Promising thing about the longer drive was that on the Oline there were all freshmen and 1 senior from tackle to tackle. Defense played okay for a half, but they were finally playing with some emotion and passion.

Triton is a very good team, I just think if our kids can play a whole game for the first time this season we can pull out the upset. Score was 7-0 Triton going into half. Going into the 4th quarter, I believe the score was 14-6, a couple injuries and youth showed themselves and Triton ran away in the 4th. It should be a great game and a fun atmosphere going into Friday night.

Right? I had more positives against LaVille and North Judson as a winamac fan then almost every game they've played this season and that's including the Culver/WC losses and the two wins.

When you can move the ball and drive against good teams, it should give you the confidence to be able to do it to others but with youth.. they'll play better against good teams and worse against the lesser teams.

  14. 1 hour ago, RingLeader said:

The first meeting was a dogfight for three quarters. Pioneer just has lapses of play where they throw a pick/fumble/ get a punt blocked for score/ start missing tackles etc.  Personally I dont think they are that far off being very competitive.  Final Scores dont reflect it as Their youth has been exposed a bit but best thing about all those freshmen starters is they become sophomores.

When I saw them week 2. I thought they'd be 5-4 or so, I heard the injury bug hit them. Small senior and junior class that seems not to work as hard as previous classes have at Pioneer so I've heard and that's the right mentality to have. It sucks they are killing killed as freshman but once they are juniors and seniors.  They'll be doing the killing. That's what I always told some of the '22 kids from winamac. You'll take your lumps now but eventually you'll be the one giving instead of taking.

Didn't make it to the game, went to watch little cousin play LaVille.

Sounds about like how I thought it'd be.

Better things on the horizon for both teams.
