Congrats to the Jays. Didn’t see them winning against the Warriors, especially by such a large margin.

Culver executed their game plan to control the ball against SC in sloppy conditions. Rained pretty hard the whole game, which made it tough to do much but run up the middle. Defense stepped up with big games from Reno and Alex Zehner, and Ben Lee.  They will need to continue to improve to stop a strong Bluejays team next week.

I was shocked by how much the Jays won but I wasn't too shocked they did. They are a very well coached team and The jays wanted revenge and got it in a big way.

It was pretty much a reversal of last season. The jays came in over confident and winamac wasn't good enough to drill them but beat them. This season I think this year Winamac was judson of last year and Judson was solid enough to beat the brakes off them.

  2. Tip your hats to the Jays. They had a great game plan and executed very well.

Winamac had at least five turnovers. The pick that I believe Aldric Harper had right before half (did a great job at staying home) was a major back breaker. I also thought when they scrub kicked it after they scored to go up 6-0 and recovered gave them a lot of momentum.

I know both teams played on the same field but the playing conditions absolutely helped north judson more than Winamac. Judson is a very up the middle type team where Winamac is more to the outside and some passing.

I think last years loss was great motivation for the jays and it showed.

I'll always wonder why Winamac didn't go to a 5 man front either at all or hardly tonight.

Any thoughts on Triton @ Northfield? Seems to be 2 evenly matched teams on paper. Sagarin has Northfield as about 10-point favorites and JH has Northfield winning 28-21. @WalterSobchak How did Triton look against Winamac?

Winamac's field was really muddy so that slowed things down for both squads.

I think Triton only made it past the 50 once and that was due to Winamac fumbling on their own 7 yard line.

#2 their QB and their sophomore RB are studs.

I mean... we do prefer to talk after we win. lol I'm just really not sure how the game is going to go.

Judson is more battle tested but I'm not as sold on them as others due to their lack of size.

ANDDD Winamac is still a mystery to us all.

To be honest, Winamac's kids are battle tested. Bentle, Perry and Good didn't play football last year.  Holehan and Klingerman.. Didn't play football at winamac last season but Winamac has four kids that have started for 4 seasons+ the kicker and four more kids with 3 years of varsity starting. Seymour, Brown, Bell, Pratt, Heater, Jones and Bucinski are in their 2nd year of varsity.

They played LaVille, North Judson twice last season and LCC. Covid took the Pioneer game from being what it should have been and eliminated both LaVille and Judson games.

Winamac shouldn't be a mystery to any HNAC squad. They are a well coached team that's physical, has size up front and some quick skilled guys with Russell Compton leading the way.

He was a key part of their offense before getting hurt. SA has done well replacing him, but he can add another level to their offense.

    Yes he would.

He had 5 carries for 76 yards and two TDs rushing the ball and went 10-12 for 3 TDs and no picks w 182 yards passing.

The fact they are 8-2 and he didn't play in 8 games is a big deal for SA.

    Hope he can come back.

    Thinking same thing

gag order has been put in place

If Allen doesnt carry the load it won’t matter and if NJ can’t slow 18 or 1 they won’t have a chance either.
From what I have seen of 1A this is a golden opportunity for either team to get to Lucas Oil.

Allen and Harper will show up for North Judson.

Clark and Compton will show up for Winamac.

It'll come down to line play, turnover battle, both kickers, passing game and if the teams 3rd and 4th options offensively have big games. This game should be much like the 83/84 games. Intense, hard hitting and low scoring.

I anticipate neither fanbase wants the other to have much bulletin board material. Winner of this game gets a 2nd win on the season over a team with a record over .500.

I don't think either team will need much.

North Judson is still mad they lost last season. Winamac has been humming along and probably wants to show the area last year wasn't a fluke.

When both teams are good, neither team needs any extra motivation. This is a rivalry game.

Delphi with their 2 RB's will keep ball out of Robinsons hands and limit possessions which lead to them beating the panthers...20-14

LaVille will continue the offensive production and beat the Lions this week.  Defense will be tested, but I think they believe what they are doing on that side of ball and will continue doing what they have been doing!!   20-10

Why don't they throw with Plummer more? He can chuck it.

I don't recall how many seniors LaVille has but I don't think it was that many like 3 if that.

Man the caliber of opponents this year and the added high school play calling by Indiana has done the team morale in. Could not have been a better perfect storm to doom this team. From the first game ass kicking, Allen was never able to put the team back on track, grasping for straws all the way.
And to think temptation was saying they would win 6 or 7 games. He must have reach for the wrong pipe.

High school play calling? Sheridan called the O last season too lol.

Penix threw 2 pick sixes against Iowa and threw 3 picks against Cinnci...better QB probably means Iowa is a closer game, Cinnci is probably a win.

QB play is killing them right now. Tuttle going out killed IU big time offensively.

I saw the Culver game, but I will admit that a single game sample size isn’t enough to judge how they’d stack up against Busco. I think I was coming off the high of the win last night! Winamac looked huge in that game and that size/physicality will be tough for anyone to deal with. The Winamac vs. North Judson matchup should be a fun one!

    Culver usually gives Winamac issues.

The T formation is tough to stop at times, Culver also does a pretty good job at taking their time and usually using the play and game clock to their advantage when its tied or when they are up. Its when they get behind a score or two they are in trouble cause they don't throw very well.

Winamac had also missed the two previous weeks.

It'll be a battle this week and an uphill battle for Winamac if the Warriors get to Semi State. Monroe Central and Adams Central are both solid teams.

Ouch……visiting family in Wisconsin and just saw the score. That is brutal. The one thing that is noticeable with Ryan Day compared to even Urban Meyer……..Day knows how to get his team to bury a team like IU, where it always felt like Meyer’s teams were just as superior….they played just well enough to pull off a win in most years.

Indiana has to find a QB in the transfer portal or two.

Indiana's defense is good IMO but not good enough to completely stop Ohio State but good enough to stop them at times but since IU's offense is so bad and going 3 and out. IU's defense is on the field non stop.

Indiana has to sustain drives and their terrible QB play and offensive line woes doesn't allow them to do that.

You may be right. I’ve seen MC and Winamac play. Not NJ. I’d still stand by my statement based on what I’ve seen.

When did you see Winamac play?

Winamac's team this season reminds me a lot of the 2013 Tri Central squad that won state.

They are big upfront, pretty athletic up there too. They have a balanced running attack with QB, FB and both wings getting touches. Their QB can throw it too (threw for 1k as a freshman and sophomore) and threw all over CC last season but Winamac has the type of offense that if they can just keep it simple and beat you they will.  That's why they don't drop 60 on teams. Coach John Hendryx doesn't like doing that and does a great job at rotating his 2nd string kids. They could have beat WC 70-0 tonight or Caston a few weeks ago but didn't.

Winamac doesn't have the "stars" that the 2013 or 2014 teams did but they are better coached, have more depth and instead of having 3/4 studs, they have 4 really talented kids and 7 or 8 pretty solid kids.

North Judson's defense is really good. Their offense can be a bit shaky but their main studs Cheyanne Allen and Aldric Harper are very good...along with Owen and Quinton Frasure on D. They got Brennen Benson up front and he's a solid OL/DL.  Their passing game isn't super strong but if Harper gets the time, he can throw it. Allen and Senior Kason Sanchez are both capable receivers.

This statement completely underestimates how good Busco is. May not have been your intention, but that’s how it seems. That team was as tough as Eastside physically. Busco would likely win every sectional in the north outside of #44. To downgrade AC after beating an extremely tough team - a team that took Eastside to the wire - seems like an overreaction.

Are there things that need to be worked on? Of course. But I’d venture to say every team in the win column tonight would say the same thing.

I think in your post you are also underestimating Monroe Central, Winamac and North Judson. All three of those teams are very very good.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm betting if SN played Culver's schedule they would have 5+ losses as well, but those losses mean nothing now. I think the winner of this game represents the north part of the bracket.

South Newton would probably have 1 win if they played Culver's full schedule.

MWC is bad. Caston would have won it this year and maybe even last year.

You have no way of knowing that as you can throw all of the predestination crap out of the window.  The Culver game will be a good test for the Rebels.  SN has played well against inferior competition this year and just needs to tweak their offense a little more.

I'll eat crow if this backfires but Tri County, Frontier, North White and West Central are awful. Attica is terrible.

Culver is way more battle tested by playing Pioneer, North Judson, Winamac and LaVille.

Culver is big, physical and can control the clock via their offense.

I could see this be a Culver win by 3 TDs.

So maybe they won’t get out of their own sectional?

I think they have a very good chance at doing so.

They are much better offensively and defensively compared to last season.

I think North Judson's defense is better compared to last season but offensively I don't think they are (they miss redlin and Marin up front and the blount twins at wings). Coach Lambert and Coach Howard will have them ready to go.
