It appears to be a pretty bland set of games this week.  Not much to discuss for the last week of the regular season.

Caston at Knox - Knox won't get much of a chance to sharpen their game heading into next week's sectional play.  Caston is probably already looking at the rematch with West Central next week.  Knox Redskins 56-0

LaVille at Culver - If there is an interesting game this week, this one might be it.  I don't expect Culver to make it close, but it will be interesting to see how LaVille looks with a new QB running the show.  LaVille Lancers 48-0

Pioneer at North Judson - The Jays have lost 13 straight to the Panthers.  This is the year they turn the tide.  Pioneer ends the regular season with their worst record in over a quarter century.  North Judson Bluejays 42-0

Winamac at Triton - This young Winamac team will find themselves overmatched in this one.  The senior dominated OL of the Trojans and the hard running Schuh will pummel the young Warriors.  They might get a score off a turnover or late against the JV.  Triton Trojans 49-7

Running clocks by the 4th quarter in every game this week.

You are telling me Triton will beat Winamac worse then what Knox did, North Judson or LaVille? Okay.

Does anyone pose a real threat to Carroll Flora in sectional 43? I see West Central is 7-1 and is only 10 points behind in Sagarin. Similar strengths of schedule.

    No.

West Central is the school I follow County rival. They have some good players but play in the worst conference in the state. Winamac outgained them, had more trips to the red zone but stalled out. They had five turnovers and lost to WC by six. WC had 3 tds, one came from a big run and the others were a pick six and a 97 scoop and score.

West Central and Winamac flip spots. WC at best is 3-5.  They are what I consider a fake good team.

West Central's only loss came at the hands of a bottom-half HNAC team by way of a shutout.  If Carroll doesn't beat WC in dominating fashion, they'll be a sacrificial lamb at the hands of Adams Central.

The deeper we get into the season, the more the 1A north looks to me like a showdown between North Judson and AC.

Culver didn't even have a few of their starters either...that game should have been much worse than what it was.

4-4 would be good, but we are 5-3

Forgot you guys beat WC haha.

Heard Plummer is done for year. Colin Czarnicki is back up which is gifted athlete comes in. Kid can play and Laville wins by 21 at minimum

Thats what my LaVille friend said too. It's a shame! Kid can ball.

  4. Culver vs LaVille

Culver should be feeling very good. I know Ortiz has been out or was out for a bit. I know they had a couple lineman out against Triton.  Shuman is an absolute animal. Mike Zehner is an outstanding guy and glad to see even what they lost last year still being 4-4 is pretty good.

I think LaVille's biggest issue will be how they adjust wo Plummer.

    Triton Vs Winamac

Triton is just simply bigger, stronger and they got more facial hair (mighty ducks 2 reference). They shouldn't have much of an issue w Winamac. I watched Judson and LaVille play online and was blown away about how healthy our kids stayed in the game vs both schools due to the size of both. Triton prob not near as big but big enough. This year is unfamiliar territory for Winamac. They haven't had a 2 win season since the early 90s and its treading that way. They however only lose 2 kids off this years team that make a big impact. They return about 19 or 20 kids that get playing time, so hopefully a good off-season can make next years prospects better.

North Judson beats Pioneer for the first time as conference foes.

Crazy to see how down Pioneer is.

Knox rolls Caston. Radtke one of this years is gonna have a legit team at Knox.

LaVille definitely showed what kind of team they have.

IMO the LaVille defense stepped up once again against one of the best RB in the conference and best total offenses, holding Allen to less than 60 yards in first half and about 85 yards for the game.  The also kept North Judson out of the end zone in the OT and  limited NJSP to about 120 rushing yards for the game and did not allow them in the end zone for the second half.  Allen did have three TDs for Judson and showed that he is a very valuable young man on this team.

DeWitt was nails toinght. Probably around 160 yards rushing and 2 TDs.  Plummer getting injuried at the end of the third didn't seem to bother LaVille.

Next man up stepped in and did a nice job running the controls.  Howevrer, if Plummer is out with the injury, that takes away a lot of positions that he plays for the team - QB, P-PK, Kickoff, defense, he can play a lot of places.

After watching this one, I could see both NJ and LV make a deep run in the state tournament.

as always, the game is better

Imo. The mvp race was down to Allen of Judson and DeWitt of LaVille. I think LaVille winning and DeWitt having that big of a game sealed it for me. Schuh is a stud no doubt, I loved watching him play against Winamac last year. He played hard and ran hard, he just had no chance in the game last year.

He'll be the leader for conf mvp next year. It wouldn't be because lack of stats this year but because the RB grouping in conference is very good.

Shane Shuman deserves a lot of chatter for his overall talent but he doesn't have the team around him that Cheyenne, Paul or Schuh does.

Watched Schuh against LaVille.  He was nails in that one too.

Schuh definitely one of the best backs in the conference.  Wouldn't be surprised if he was over 1,500 rushing yards or pretty close for the season. And, I believe he has over 100 yards rushing in every game so far this season.

Would also say that DeWitt fits in that category for LaVille.  He's probably near 1,100 rushing yards after last night and I believe since he finished over 100 yards against NJ that gives him six games over 100 yards.

Both Schuh and DeWitt should be considered for conference MVP.

DeWitt had over 100 against Triton, over 150 against Knox and I bet almost 150 against North Judson...and they beat all 3 of those teams.

I believe he'll get it and Schuh will get it next year.

  7. 10 minutes ago, Jmumm1235 said:

Yeah Laville Online legit. Think Judson also had under 200 yards rushing, which coming into game was averaging near 280

    Very.

When I saw LaVille and Judson play Winamac I was scared for our kids haha. Size is something Judson or LaVille doesn't lack.

    Hope Plummer is OK.

Walter is a bigger troll than Spanky Harper.  How is it that we are even talking about Winamac when, arguably, the biggest conference game in the HNAC’s history is about to be played?  Because Walter Sobjack wanted to talk about last year all over again.  I wish Walter was a Bluejay fan, but his true colors always come out.

    Lol

You guys have been quiet, figured I'd try to bring you out some

I do have a lot of love for some judson folks.

Rabe Frasure, Rob Hochstedler, Al Harper, Nolan Shidler, Eli and JJ Blount and Dylan Marin are great guys!

Do not put words in Lamberts mouth. The better team won, move on.

I didn't put words in his mouth.

You know I know a lot of his family members right?

He was worried about our overall team speed. The weather made the field conditions very equal. It slowed us down quite a bit. You may not want to admit it but as I said. There's a reason he didn't want to play on turf.

  9. 3 hours ago, littledog said:

Has zero to do with the kids. I just enjoy your excuses and theories when they lose a game.

Oh I remember yours too! What's really funny is, a few months after last seasons game your head coach admitted to multiple family members that the field conditions helped them and hurt us and made both teams equal!

And I realize you still don't understand the differences between facts and excuses.

Hey, hey . . .  It is Week #8 of the high school season.

Where did the time get to already?

    Culver at Pioneer

    Knox at Triton

    North Judson at LaVille

    Winamac at Caston

    What say you?

I am hoping winamac pulls this out. If they finish 1-9 it'll tie the worst record in school history (1975). If they beat Caston but lose out they'll tie 92 and I believe 76 at 2 wins. This is different then most years with how young the Warriors are (youngest team in school history)

Great week of games for the HNAC. This will be the week that we find out the most about the top 4 teams. See tons of possibilities on how it may turn out!

Culver at Pioneer- 28-12. Pioneer picks up a win before heading to Judson next week.

Knox at Triton- Triton has a tough athlete trio leading the charge but don't think it's enough. Knox is a tough team.

North Judson at LaVille- 41- 31. Think it will be a high scoring game unless LaVille tries to manage the clock.

Winamac at Caston- 21-13. I just enjoy Winamac losing.

Tell me about it, I enjoyed seasons of seeing judson lose and lose a lot t about 8 to 10 years ago, then I grew up and realized their kids and they are trying. Winamac won't be down too long though.

  12. It's gonna be a great game so I think.

Really tough to get a measure on both teams since Winamac is pretty down this year.

I will say I think LaVille has more speed then the Jays but I also think neither team has the best pass defense. Winamac had success on both throwing and Winamac was able to hang around a bit longer with the Jays (rivalries will do that). North Judson though gets stronger as the game goes on. They were up 7-0 against Winamac with 4 mins left in first half. Culver was close at half too as was CMA but pulled away in 2nd half. Triton was clinging on to some hope only being down 2 scores but in 2nd half it seemed NJ rattled off 3 TDS and was up 49 to 14 or 49 to 15 at one point.

    I'll say LaVille 23. NJ 22.

Benson did look like a stud. I expected Allen to be the feature player, but it seems NJ runs their offense through the young fullback. I think assuming that players "forget" their assignment/job is dangerous for people who aren't on the coaching staff. Since I don't think either of us are on the staff, I'd consider the possibility that you're missing something. We don't know the game plan or what the players are being told to do. I don't think any team has taken advantage of our upperclassmen DEs being undisciplined and I think they're decently disciplined.

If the two teams face off against each other again this year, I highly doubt it will be a running clock right out of halftime - or at all for that matter. We can definitely agree on that. I think it would be a fun semistate matchup if it happens. A lot of football has to be played to get there, though.

It would not shock me if the game plan is to see them ride Benson during the regular season and once playoffs hit you'll see a lot of #40.

Their secondary is pretty young but their front 7 is excellent.  Their run D is superb.

    #33, #14, #89 are studs on D.

I think speed to the outside or a decent passing game could give NJ fits. Well see how they do Friday against LaVille.

For what it's worth there were parents yelling at them as they were running across the end zone towards the bell.  When they got back to the gate they were met by a coach that laid into them. Happy they won, but pissed they did that.

Do you know what led up to the extra curricular at mid field after the game.

I'm glad they were yelled at... that REALLY crossed the line.

I believe one of the west central boys and Winamac boys have a history and it didn't go over well.  I'm glad nobody was hurt on either side.

That was an odd odd game. I don't think I've ever seen Winamac lose a game where their defense didn't give up a touchdown. I thought the defense played really well and our special teams played well too. Offense is just so up and down.

As you know well what it's like watching a young team play. You'll see good things and you'll see bad things. I told you on JH this was the year for WC to break the streak if they wanted it to end soon. Next year will be a much different story with 19 starters coming back. I don't think the turnover problems are because of lack of talent. I just think it's because of lack of experience and most not being varsity ready. Good luck rest of way.

Thanks.  He's a good coach.  I happen to think it's the wrong sport, but he's actually turning their program around.

(I'd still like to see him on the sideline at Sheridan someday)🤔

I could see it! If that chance ever happens, he'll be leaving North Newton better then when he got there and the next coach will have all the tools to atleast compete.

Gonzo, I played for Coach Wright at Sheridan from 1978-1980, coached there and then had 3 sons who were the starting QBs from 2001-2012.  It seems like yesterday but my youngest just had his 10-year recognition.  Enjoy the ride while you can.  Time marches on.

Your youngest is doing a good job now at North Newton coaching bball!

Caston at Culver- 52-6. Caston won't win a game this year.

Glenn at LaVille- 48-6. Laville gets back on track and takes it out on the falcons.

Pioneer at Knox- 42-14. Pioneer is young and Knox is starting to click.

Triton at North Judson- 21-14. Game of the week. Both teams come out excited to play.

West Central at Winamac- 29-28. Since Winamac now has their best player and would pass all over everyone, they score 28 this week.

Who said they would pass all over everyone?
