North White has a very good team, I think they're undefeated.  It's good to see vintage MWC matchups, though.

Caston strength is their 4 linebackers.

All of them are really good and the two inside are dudes.

Very good against the run and I could see them giving North White some problems.

It will be interesting to see how Pioneer/North Judson handle this game Friday!  Neither team wanting to show off everything and by all means staying healthy.  It wouldn’t surprise me if they “rested” some of their main players for this first matchup that basically means nothing.

I think they should both forfeit this week.

  3. NIL and portal ruining the game.

Louisville brought in over 40 players.

what did ND bring in? 3 or 4?

I warned everyone ND is not the place for coaches to learn how to coach. Parker has no clue and his HC can’t help him.  Recipe for disaster.

ND’s arrogance in the hiring process always seems to bite them in the ass.

  4. Not sure what can be assessed comparing games.
Pioneer had chances to win against Triton and Pioneer got avalanched in first quarter against Knox. NJ got spanked by Triton and led late vs Knox.

I believe Triton has the best athlete in Shively while Knox has the best two running backs and they are dudes.

    should be interesting.

Being more of a defensive guy, the 2009-2012 squads always held my attention for their physicality.  You are right that that 2015 LCC team had lots of talent on it; especially from an offensive standpoint.  The receiving corp was just overflowing with targets and then you toss in Jackson Anthrop in the backfield and it was hard to figure where you were going to be attacked.  Pioneer was really good that year and that 31-14 score was a little misleading as Pioneer led that game 14-10 going into the 4th quarter.

    100%.  Couldn't agree more!

Was there anybody in the northern part of the state (who wasn’t playing) who wasn’t at that 2015 game😳

End zone was a who’s who of Indiana coaches

  6. Pioneer first drive fumbles Knox recovers. Knox first play scores.

Pioneer next drive pass goes thru receivers hands ricochets off his helmet into Knox DB hands pick 6.  Ball game as Pioneer mails it in from there.

Knox way more physical and easily better team and they were very impressive.

Pioneer was without the usual missing dudes, but it would not have mattered.

It was a tough loss for the Irish!  One thing that some of you are overlooking it that it took tOSU 2 plays to barely score against only 10 Irish defenders.😉

Well the first play was a quick out to Harrison, so the ten really had no impact  on the first play.
OSU apparently noticed the shortage and ND did not in spite of Freeman’s pathetic answer where he didn’t want a penalty.
Notre Dame is not the place for young first time HC’s to cut their teeth.

  8. :07 left OSU goes with 12 personnel which means ND puts Kiser in and Harper out. Rubio, JJT, Cross, Mills on field
    11 players are on field.
ND calls time out. Puts Harper in (goes nickel)and takes Kiser out. Believe also means Botelho in for Rubio. Rubio is out and Some reason Botelho does not take field. Only have 10 on field. Incomplete pass. OSU puts in new RB, ref stops snap to give ND opportunity for personnel changes….37 seconds pass …no personnel changes for ND. (Why Bertrand, Liufau, or dline doesnt recognize no 11th guy for :37 secs and 20 coaches watching is anyone’s guess )….TD

    :37

and Freeman states he knew he had 10. 🤔

  9. Hammond Central (4-0) at Pioneer (3-1)
The Wolves did everything they could to lose at Highland last week, committing 25 penalties before escaping 21-15 in overtime. If they do that again, they'll lose. But if they don't, they should win this one. Hammond Central, 34-20.

Worked this game last night at Pioneer. Pioneer was just more physical than Hammond Central. I told a Pioneer guy that Central had better athletes for the most part, but Pioneer had better football players. Penalties did not hurt HC this week. Pioneer was able to keep the stud RB in check for most of the night and usually had several hats hitting him when he did run the ball. The HC QB missed some shots later in the game but really threw some nice balls, just out of reach. One was a touchdown, but it got knocked out of the receivers hands at the goal line. Again, physicality of Pioneer. Pioneer was somewhat smaller sized across both lines. Pioneer also played about 9 guys both ways. You just felt like the HC RB could break one at any time, and he eventually did, but the Pioneer staff had him scouted very well. My 2 Cents.

good write up of Pioneer game from one of the officials.  I would agree with his assessment and add their were 2 forced fumbles inside Pioneer’s red zone that were huge.

Pioneer was without their center and if they can ever get full team playing at same time would be huge for them.  Everybody deals with that but when you are depth challenged to begin with “next man up” mantra is difficult.
