Nice that you have a positive attitude about the team, but I don't think LaVille has any chance to go anywhere in the 2A tournament without a passing game.  Now, if you tell me the backup can chuck it like Plummer, then maybe they have a shot.  That Plummer to Smith combo is essential for the Lancers.  Without that connection LaVille would have had trouble beating Triton.  They won't beat Andrean without it.

    Congrats to Laville

Believe I heard first potential conference championship in 36 years!

I think the loss of Plummer’s kicking may be as big as the loss of his passing. Generally, if you are going to play late into November you better be able to run the ball and have effective kicking game. It appears Laville has the ability to run it but kicking could be issue

  2. Just from what I have read:

    both teams beat 3A Knox

NJ no prob with Skins 26-0

Lville had to escape with stopping 2pt conv for win in final 30 secs 21-20

Both teams are vulnerable to the passing game. Would think with Laville QB they would have advantage here. Laville QB is very good and if flushed can use his legs very effectively. NJ will need to be disciplined with their pass rush.  If Laville has success thru air Dewitt becomes even more dangerous.  On D can Laville force NJ to throw.  Stopping NJ option game is going to be issue for Laville. They will bout have to change their front for this game.  If they can take away Benson then Harper and Allen on the edge will be a problem for Laville Lb and DB’s.
In the end NJ too physical for Laville imo as Benson will churn out his yards and move the sticks

    NJ 24

    Lville 14

Logansport seems to have a better team this year.  With Kiser gone, maybe the good football players are going back to Logansport to play for the old Pioneer coach.  Going from 1a to 2a back to 1a can also hurt a team.

    Try again

There have only been 2 Logansport football players make their way to Pioneer in the last 30 years.

Both came in 2001 due to disciplinary issues at Logansport.

Didn’t Brett law when mr football at Sheridan ? Just a opinion here but maybe when pioneer was up a ton at state you let those kids that took a beating against the varsity all year get in the game instead of playing the starters all game .

They did…that’s how they beat 6AChesterton and Andrean and went to 2A semi-state when those players were seniors🙄

I disagree on them not being a snub, but I understand your reasoning since they are next in line. Having seen some of Triton's games so far on YouTube, they are 100% a top 10 team, if not higher (I'd place them at 6). The polls ultimately don't mean anything, I understand that. They'll get their chance to in the next few weeks in matchups against Pioneer and North Judson to show whether or not I'm right.

SA will have a couple of pretty solid athletes to stop if they want to win. Does anyone know if MC is strong up front like they usually are? They always have some big dudes.

Don’t believe a matchup with Pioneer carries any weight for Triton other than they’ve never beaten them. Pioneer has talent but lacks heart to be a factor this season.

Yeah, I think he's in the 220lb area and fast.  From what I've heard he has been contacted by a handful of D1 schools. I can't remember all of them, but I've heard Kansas, Bowling Green, and others if I'm not mistaken.

Since he is only a junior that list will grow.  Hopefully he is making the rounds to camps and combines in off-season

With all due respect to Schuh, Allen from NJSP is likely the best

    Don’t underestimate the Schuh kid

Believe I would take Schuh if I had a choice.

Btw what does Schuh go this year?  Looks about 225-230

Surely he is getting looks from the next level

As for LaVille, anything less than a conference championship and another shot at Andrean, this time in sectionals, would be considered a failure.

Good goals, shouldn’t that be the goal every year?

FWIW Friend has seen Andrean twice this summer (his words) “nobody is touching Andrean in 2A, they are loaded. Watched them dismantle Valpo without Drayk Bowen playing”
