  1. Culver played over there a couple of times when Whiting was 1A. Their fan support was pretty strong back then. Their facilities were cool with a turf field (rare in 1A) and you could actually see the lake and downtown Chicago from the stands. A railroad track ran by the field with trains going by every so often. Definitely a memorable place to play!
  2. I could see North Miami being interested. Playing the 1A schools in HNAC would be more of a fit than Peru , Rochester and Wabash
  3. All the schools that remain in HNAC would be 1A in football except Winamac, who just moved up this year. Caston and Culver are under 250 which is about half of Rochester. I define that as significant.
  4. I’d push for North Miami, North White, West Central, or South Central for HNAC. Argos and OD don’t have football and several other sports (wrestling, track). I doubt Rochester would join as they would be significantly bigger than the schools that remain. Westville is too far from most of the schools
  5. I agree with Westfield it is disappointing to learn I won’t be able to see the games on TV. Don’t see how this decision benefits high school athletics overall
  6. Culver had like 8 or so contributing seniors on last years team, so combined with this years big senior class it was definitely more talented overall. The addition of Coach Foust has opened up the offense a little more for this years team though which has served us well.
  7. Caston beating West Central may be a stretch, but wouldn’t be surprised if the last place team in the HNAC (Caston) beats the 1st place team in the MWC (West Central). The quality of play between the two conferences is isignificant
  8. Culver Community 28 Pioneer 8 The Cavaliers get their first when ever against the Panthers
  9. Culver over Pioneer 28-21 Knox beats Triton 35-32 Laville outlasts NJSP 21-20 Winamac gets win over Caston 32-28
  10. Culver over Caston 42-6 Laville over Glenn 35-12 Knox beats Pioneer 35 - 14 NJSP over Triton 22 - 20 Winamac over West Central 28 -21
  11. NJSP has struggled with teams with speedy backs. The Flying Jets exposed this in the semi state. McLaughlin, Roman, and Conroy bring a lot of speed that will allow them to move the ball. If Knox can slow down Allen and limit the passing yards I think they get this one
  12. Culver is at about 20 players right now with 3 out due to injuries. 8 of the 20 are seniors. Knox has a lot of speed which allowed them to rush the ball well around the ends. Their linebackers were also quick and closed rushing holes quickly. They definitely were better than I thought going in. Having played both Judson and Knox already this year, I would pick Knox to beat NJSP next week
  13. With all due respect to Schuh, Allen from NJSP is likely the best
  14. Should be an interesting year with several teams capable of winning the title. I see NJSP as the favorite, but there are at least 4 other teams that could win it
  15. I think NJSP would be the favorite coming into the year, but I expect there will be a lot of parity in the conference. Triton, Laville, and Knox all could challenge for the title
