  1. B South Franklin Whiteland South Dearborn Louisville St X Martinsville Greenwood
  2. On another note, will there be a HHC pick 'ems? If so, who are the week 1 opponents?
  3. I can agree with the students/parents/economic situation making a difference and possibly making it easier on the teacher to produce different results. A parent can still point to those results and site a difference in educational opportunity. I totally believe there are good teachers in both areas. The education is different in results and possibly application, whether that is the environment or the program or a little of both. It's very much the rich get richer. I don't think anyone will perfectly solve that problem. It's something that we will always have. But Indiana has opened the door to open enrollment so they have created their own problem. You know what's funny? When students that don't play sports transfer you don't hear anything. I wonder if a school loses their best soloist in band if they deny their transfer?
  4. First, my family moved from Seymour to Columbus. We have 5 kids. We witnessed first hand how the curriculum is more intense. My oldest is a high ability learner. BCSC's advanced curriculum (AC) program is awesome. Seymour didn't have one at the time. Not sure if JC has one or not. BCSC has two one at Parkside and the other at Southside. My other children who are not AC kids were challenged quite a bit more at first. Once they got used to the difference they started to thrive. Take a look at NICHE. JC scores really low on math. North is higher in every aspect of education. It just is what it is. My oldest was challenged because there were kids that were doing trigonometry in the 6th grade. He's competitive so it made him work harder. It's not a slam, it's just facts. Someone has to be first and so on. Columbus North doesn't rank as high as a Fishers or Carmel but for this area it's number one. That does not mean that kids can't be successful at other schools. But for those that want to be challenged more and experience more, North is a better school statistically.
  5. They are not going back. The education is waaay different. And he’s really become a part of the team. They enrolled their 1st grader in school at Columbus. He plays on my youngest son’s football team. The IHSAA should be ashamed of themselves. They have the 1 transfer rule on the docket for next year. They started this with open enrollment. Do what’s best for the kids. It goes to the board of education now. Good luck to JC proving that their education is on par with Columbus North. It’s not even comparable. I just hate how they are going to mess up a kids life for a year. The parents and Elmore are committed though. Come what may. They are stand up people.
  6. As of now, he is ineligible.
  7. Columbus North will return 21 starters so looking for a strong season. We were a young team of mainly sophomores and Juniors last season. They have grown and gotten faster so hoping that bodes well for the season.
  8. I would say that is a fairly accurate description of the North/East rivalry. The schools do a good job of promoting the rivalry games in each sport; encouraging the student sections to come out and support their teams. Certainly a lot of trash talking leading up to the event. Then afterward, it's on to the rest of the season. We don't wear any orange clothes in our house (except when deer hunting). We joke about that with our neighbors (as we actually live in East HS district) but it's tongue and cheek. We go to church and hang out with families from both schools. But when the game starts the rivalry is on!
  9. How are the teams looking in this conference for 2024? B. North, C. North, and Terra Haute South looking to be the top 3 this year? I know B. South lost a lot of key seniors from last year, but do they have some good players coming up to fill those gaps? Excited for the season to start!
  10. No. North is set at QB. He has been playing safety and is a crazy interception threat.
  11. 19 or 20 returning starters. We should be very solid.
  12. It will be interesting to see what their team looks like this year. I have heard reports of them losing upperclassmen linemen and their prospective RB will not be playing. I imagine we could see some underclassmen get a chance to prove themselves earlier than expected. North defense had their way with the O line last year the way it was so it doesn’t look good for the city rivalry game this year.
  13. The Central QB is at East. James Scruggs. Very athletic freshman. He's been putting in a lot of private training with a QB coach in Indy and Dusty Kiel.
  14. Look for #15 to play in game 1.
  15. The roof blew off the arena when she flipped the match.
  16. This was fun. I got started late and missed a couple in the middle but it was still a good time. The HHC Group is a super active thread. Until next year!
