  1. @Lysander Will you be at the game this Friday? Should be a good one!
  2. Columbus East Floyd Central Seymour Madison
  3. Columbus North 14 Roncalli 0
  4. New Albany Floyd Central Columbus East Jeffersonville
  5. Jeff New Albany Seymour Floyd Central
  6. Columbus North beat Decatur Central in week 1.
  7. That surprises me. Good for THN though. It seems the competition is wide open this year. I’m sure the cream will start to rise in the next few games as coaches make adjustments. We will start to see who the contenders really are.
  8. East had two picks. That was about it.
  9. Oh yeah. I forgot he was hurt. That could have made a difference.
  10. First congrats to THN. I’m sure those boys are riding high right now. Second, I never saw that coming. I thought maybe Mooresville has something cooking with the addition of Cruz. So many crazy turns this past two weeks. Especially in 6A! That’s what makes football so exciting. I think this season is going to be one to remember.
  11. I think that the Floyd vs Terra Haute South game will be the most competitive. It came down to the wire last year or the year before. Terra Haute South lost a few key players but returns a lot. Floyd lost a lot of players but still has some talented and experienced personnel. That long trip to Terra Haute is a killer though. We have had teams that underperformed partially because of that long trip. It can make teams come out cold.
  12. Beech Grove (0-1) at Jennings County (0-1) #9 Bloomington North (0-1) at BNL (0-1) Columbus East (0-1) at Columbus North (1-0) Floyd Central (0-1) at Terre Haute South (0-1) Jeffersonville (0-1) at Seymour (1-0) New Albany (0-1) vs South Bend Washington (0-1) (at Sheridan)
  13. Hopefully nothing too serious.
  14. Yeah. I don’t give any credence to the Southport score. I figured they got a solid lead and put JV in. Chatard plays some tough games in the next few weeks. Roncalli and Cathedral before they see us. They have a really good schedule.
  15. These are the next two games we are really excited for. Roncalli is down quite a bit but you always have to give a program like theirs respect. It will be interesting to see how their new coach pivots. Chatard is not the team from last year either. However they still have some dudes. If North can impose their will on both these teams then there will be some heads turning.
  16. Mooresville has picked up Connor Cruz at QB. That is probably a big difference maker. A couple of years ago our CN freshman team picked up a game against Mooresville. It was a battle. I imagine they have some pretty talented Juniors now. Could be interesting to see how Mooresville does throughout the season.
  17. Last year, we were a team of mainly Sophomores and Juniors. These boys return with experience, growth and resolve. They believed the whole time. They embrace being a dark horse.
  18. Columbus North is looking to knock off 14 and 21 in weeks 5 and 6.
  19. I get that. The rivalry is real! Lol
  20. Wow! Good win for Seymour.
  21. They have been putting in the work. Definitely some things to clean up but they played great “team” football. Lots of different guys making plays.
  22. Great start to the season!
  23. @ptr will you be doing pickems for this thread?
  24. You literally say so right here. Haven't you guys lost to East on years where you thought you would beat them? I believe, from what I hear on the board and from people I know at Floyd, that this should be their year again. I'm just saying that if they lose it would definitely be an upset where they choke or fail to perform to their expected level.
  25. It sounds like Floyd will be the team to beat in the HHC. However, Floyd has been known to blow it when they looked to be on top before, right? Columbus East secondary is good. Lawson is tall, lanky and fast. Can win 50/50 balls. Herron is tall and athletic as well. I foresee their lines being a big problem. Will have to see if they can figure it out. Coach Vogel alludes that the team is still trying to find their identity. Seymour has arguably, or not, the best WR in the conference. Maybe one of the best in the state in Johnson. But he doesn't have the other WR help that he had last year. I know they graduated a bunch of linemen. Their QB spot seemed up in the air and big shoes to fill with Perry missing. I think the top three are Floyd, East, and Seymour. East and Seymour could be interchangeable. If Floyd manages to get upset, it could make the race for the top interesting. I like that Floyd has a tough schedule. East's schedule isn't a walk in the park either. As always, teams staying healthy matters.
