ok after some thinking this is how I would add the weeks
1season would start aug 9 not the 24
2 move the start from move start time back to 730 or 800 I think that is where i should be any with the state going to DLS I know it still would be hot but I think the sun would not bearing down the players
3 in the add 2 more weeks one would be a bye week
4 I would not start for 2 or 3 years so schools had time to work out all the kinks they would have
-
As far at the heat goes with daylight savings time you could move the start time back to 730 or even 8
-
When I mean add two more week I mean start early. For instance this year the season starts August 24 move the start to August 9

What does anyone think about add two more weeks to the season? Now with my idea with add two weeks. You will add one more game and would have a bye week.

1 do not see happen when they will have to play a MIC school to win it
3 if you did that why not move back to 5 class
9 I do not see this happen any time soon, if you went more then 8 teams you would have to get rid of the 2 Non-Conference games but it might help with it schedule as it getting harder for the top teams in the MIC to find teams to play them. If the MIC was add a team or two Avon, Brownsburg, HSE or Fishers would be more my choice then CN
11 I think it comes down to time and money, and I do not just mean how much money you get for coaching. I think it comes down to what teachers make and most people that want to coach also want a good paying job. Right now that is not teaching. The time issue is that Coaching is not just a few hours after school any more. No mater what sport it is it is year round.
13 as far as recruitment new people in to world of officiating one start with money two I would hit up collage kids hard those that their playing days are over.

Here is a question for you all is Mr Football a career award or is it a best senior year award

That certainly favors (Most) 5A & 6A schools. I would think they have 50% to 100% more coaches and assistants than 1, 2, 3 and probably 4A. I would think each head coach of each school getting a vote would be best??
But you have to remember that 5a and 6a have less teams so I say it would favor the Lower class

I think the best scenario is covered in other post you started on 3-10.
1 - Merrillville, Crown Point, Lake Central, Lafayette Jeff
2 - Penn, Chesterton, Valparaiso, Portage
3 - Noblesville, Homestead, Carroll, Warsaw
4 - Westfield, North Central, Carmel, Zionsville
5: HSE/Fishers/LN/LC
6: Pike/BD/Avon/Brownsburg
7: WC/Tech/Southport/Perry Meridian
8: Franklin Central/CG/Columbus North/EastBD and Wc will probably be in 6 together. Ihsaa likes puting them together, I think it makes them fell better about not all sectionals champions in the south being MIC schools

Nah. The morning session was above average. The evening session was way down because CMA has no fans, neither Ben Davis or Carmel has huge fanbases either, despite their size, and there was no IU or Purdue recruit playing to draw in casual fans.
I will disagree with you on camels fanbase have you ever seen the turn on they have for the football state finals. I really do believe that springs break hurts attendance I am sure their is a lot of families that would go to the game but are out of town

I would have to disagree. His pass numbers probably would have been just as high or higher. Jack Kellams threw for 31 less yards, then Kiser, his senior year (2016).
That is true but cg also has Russ that year and he is a big reason Jack numbers where that high a lot of YAC yards

Can you imagine if Kiser played for Center Grove?
His passing numbers wound have not been even close to that high and would have not played defensive or play defensive and not qb

Is it possible that Barr Reeve/Bloomfield brings more people than Ben Davis/Center Grove?
ForBen Davis you will be right for CG not so sure but you also have to take this into consideration Cg just start spring break so their will some that would have gone to the game but will now will be on vacation out of state.

I think it might interesting to see what schools test and those who do not test

I believe every state that has a mercy rule starts it in the 3rd quarter. Some will allow it in the second quarter with a higher point differential. At most the clock only stops using an acronym of TIPS (time outs, injury, possession changes, scores). NFL clock rules would also stop for incomplete passes and runners going out of bounds. The main difference between NFL and NFHS on clock status is it doesn't stop on 1st down and it starts on the ready when a runner goes out of bounds outside of end of half situations.
If I am wrong please tell me but the clock would start again once the ball is set after they go out of bounds,
-
I personally do like the idea of a mercey rule. But if they where do one here is my thought on it. One it can not start till the 4th quarter by thay time if one team is up big they are play the2nd and 3rd string kids. Two the win team must be up by over 35 points and have the ball. Three the clock should run like the NFL this was you can spreed up the game but still have teams can get younger plays and seniors that do not play much into the game also once you go to that type of clock you do not go back.

Here is my two cents
I think it should stay free site. But if you want to make it paysite it should be free to read but, if you want to post or start topics then you have to pay small fee for the year

from what I understand, New Palestine is the only school in Hancock County that does not . . . but it should
I am not sure how to ask this with out sounding like I believe it to to true, but I think it is a good question and I am not saying that this ishow they got good, but do think it could play a part in. After all you do not have to live in school system to go to school their any more

With the proposed bill that would make drug testing a law I was curious to see how many schools already have this in place. I know CG has this for any sports, band and choir also has it place and if you drive to school you are in the program.
Add two more weeks to the football season

Here is a few of my thoughts
1 the bye week add In is more for the 1-4 class then for 5 and 6 who most already have a bye week the first week of the playoffs. So the more think about this instead add 2 weeks just add one 1-4 purts in a bye week 5 and 6 add a game.
2 I use to think seeding would be a good thing and get ride of the blind draw. but the more I think about It. I feel if you want to add more mean to the regaler season then they should do away with whole idea of “neutral field”. The Ihsaa can still do their blind draw but home field would go the better team and let them treat it like a home game with all the fanfare that goes along with it
