What metric and what process is used to seed? Should Sagarin ratings be used? BTW, Sagarin is an algorithm that only 1 living human being understands and that human being will eventually expire. Seeding is used in States where not 'everyone' gets invited to participate. Also, the IFCA has had the opportunity to suggest a seeding proposal. It is possible that there are as many coaches against it as are for it? How does this affect the gate, since the gate is handed back to the schools. Seeding is normally brought up by folks whose team draws a bad ping pong ball but who are silent when their draw is favorable. If seeding using Sagarin is used, what would be the regular season strategy of teams? Would Bud Wright at Sheridan schedule 9 weeks of 6A teams entering the tournament at 0-9 but ranked #1 in 1A? Would 6A and 5A schools ditch 1-4A teams to avoid lowering their ranking...even with a win? SImple people suggest apparently simple changes without any next-next thinking of the ramifications. Simple suggestions generally are to support their team, not the sport in it's entirety. BTW, we only broadcast games...not a rule making entity.

Not only that, the home schools is expecting the revenue from concessions which can be massive. Local restaurants, hotels and business enjoy the economic benefits. Fans only think about themselves and are not in tune with the 'business' aspect and financial challenges of schools and communities.

How does the IHSAA predict the eventual matchup in advance so sites can be ready? Which schools are prepared to re-mobilize their de-winterized press boxes and rest rooms, recall staff and volunteers? Which schools, on a Monday's notice would be able to re-stock the concession stands. Finally, which schools who have a girls basketball game scheduled are prepared to cancel that game to re-assign ticket takers, parking attendants and staff? It's much easier to suggest this than implement it, isn't it?

And your reasoning is...? So Lafayette Jeff, with no dog in the fight has to mobilize their grounds crew, staffing, equipment and forsake their own sporting schedule for what? Additionally, CP loses 8-10k in concessions. Not really buying 'another stupid decision'

All 12 Semi-State football games will be streamed live on IHSAAtv as a pay-per-view presentation. Price per game is $12 or watch all 12 for $20. This is the 4th year that all games have been covered. Common Questions: 1. Why are the games pay-per-view? We hire the best commercial Indiana webcasters and announcers to produce these games. This assures the presentation is as close to TV quality as possible, versus a HUDL camera or other game-film style video. These folks desire a profit in addition to covering their costs. Additionally, the travel distance for Semi-State can be extensive. We make sure all games are available for all viewers, everywhere, including those unable to attend or those who can't travel. 2. Why not let all local broadcasters to air the games? As the number of games decrease, the demand on space in the press box becomes problematic. We have to limit space allowing our Champions Network affiliates and state wide and local press access. To assure adequate bandwidth for our streams, we also have to control the use of streaming technologies by others. 3. Who are the announcers? We attempt to enlist our State Championship announcers at the Semi-State level. If not, we select the best announcers from our local professional webcasters. 4. Do any of the proceeds go to the schools. Since not every school advances to the Semi-State level, paying just those teams wouldn't be fair to others. The IHSAA gives back the entire gate proceeds from the tournament to the schools at the sectional. Additionally, this year, the licensing proceeds from webcasters at the sectional level are given back. IHSAA gives backs exceed over $2 million yearly which exceeds the operating budget of the association. Unfortunately, those who parrot, 'Its all about the money' do not understand the business of high school sports. 5. How can I watch We strongly suggest using a Roku, Firestick or AppleTV devices on your television. Then download the IHSAAtv app from the applicable app store. That's from our facebook post. There are so many misconceptions about this that we thought a clarification was necessary. We are still answering questions, but generally fans were unaware that the contact with Bally paid the hefty costs of production. So for many years, it was free. The bigger picture is the death of linear television on cable. Channel 13, 6, 4 and others simply can't sell enough advertising to remove network programming and substitute these ad revenues with local sports sponsors. That's why you don't see games on 13, 6 and 4 during the regular season and tournament. Even ESPN is going to a subscription plan anticipating the death of cable companies.

IHSAAtv in partnership with Hamilton County TV, will be airing 'Game Day' each week of the football season leading up to State Finals. We will highlight 4 games of statewide interest with look-ins to webcasts from our affiliates. There is no charge during the sectional and the regional rounds. During semi-state Saturday, this webcast will be only available to those fans who have purchased the all-access pass. I believe you mean reporting phising issues? If so, the IHSAA is powerless to stop the hundreds of fake accounts and phishing posts that pop up falsely indicating a game is streaming. We can report accounts to Twitter and Facebook, but there are hundreds...perhaps thousands of fake posts. This is why tournament games must stream only IHSAAtv.org to protect the fans and viewers and guarantee a safe viewing experience.
