  1. Stars are extremely outmanned tonight due to players out due to a positive COVID test at BNL. No players have tested positive but in the “area” of a student who did. Part of the what will be an interesting season.

Bloomington North off to a quick 14-0 lead following BNL fumbling the opening kickoff.

Stars driving as the first quarter comes to a close.

From the mouth of former Louisville Male DC and new Providence Head Coach Dan McDonald.

They’re a very talented football team. You watch their film and there’s talent everywhere. The quarterback, running back and their big offensive lineman get a lot of credit, deservingly so, but they have several other players with big-time talent. You watch their defensive line on film, and those guys flat get off the ball. Their linebackers play downhill aggressively and they’re solid tacklers,” McDonald said. “I think had they played Male last week, it would have been a very interesting game. That’s not intended to be a knock on Male, either. FC has a ton of talent on the field. This is the most talented team they’ve had in four years.”

    (I’m a homer though.)

Good luck to all HHC teams tonight!

And I should copy and paste what Bless said about BNL tonight and Gaddis makes it sound like East will struggle against Seymour when they play them. What do you think a coach is going to say?   I mean I try to give you a pass on your ridiculous takes but you make it impossible 😀

You told us earlier this week that FC would compete with Elder. ‘cmon man.

I certainly admire FC for scheduling them and it will certainly help them come playoff time. They are certainly the favorite to win the Eastless sectional and they are a very good football team. I love to watch Wenkers Wright run the football.

and I’m very glad the new Providence Head Coach made your day

    Good Luck tonight

Haha. Man we are known for being a pretty friendly and hospitable fanbase. I’ve been to every football and basketball venue in the HHC and I’ve never had an issue. I’m pretty complimentary of my school, all the other schools, and all coaching staffs. Because I believe we “might” be able to hang around with 1 or 2 of the better teams on the schedule, doesn’t make me an asshole. Sorry, not sorry.

I’ve never had an issue with any fan base in the HHC. I do enjoy you thinking that every year FC is going to challenge East.

    THIS IS THE YEAR!!!

Sincerely I just enjoy picking on you and hope for a healthy year and the opportunity for these young men to get to play.  I root against no high school kid.

I will never apologize to any of you, for being an optimistic fan. It beats the alternative.

Nah it ain’t that...you are just a reflection of the entire fan base at Floyd so we take it out on you.

BNL will have 3 starters out tomorrow night as a COVID precaution for close proximity to a confirmed case. 🙄

Also starting center out for the next 4 weeks as well.

Going to be difficult with 4 Freshmen staring tomorrow night.

To some extent but talent is talent. Athletic ability and size goes a tremendous way in high school.  I would argue coaches teach discipline and respect for the game but if you don’t have enough athletes and size you cannot win consistently. Can not convince me otherwise

Is it just a talent issue or is the talent going to North?

Honestly, we’re just spoiled. If we don’t look like a top four team in our class, if we can’t beat Columbus North, or if we don’t win our conference games by 28+ points each then we get frustrated. I’ll admit those last two Markell Jones years really had me spoiled. If we weren’t beating HHC teams by 42 points or more then I thought there was something wrong with us. Lol

Seems to me that East improves as the season progresses and North takes a step or two back.

Not trying to take anything away from New Albany but I wonder how Bloomington South looks now that Mo Moriarity is retired. You’d assume there’d be some sort of drop-off after losing a coaching legend.

They certainly struggled after his other departure

NA up 40-28 in the 4th vs Bloomington South. I knew NA was going to be very improved. Really good Junior Class. They’ll be scary next year. It appears they’re already getting there.

This really tells us nothing, the poor kids from Bloomington are no doubt scared for their very lives.  The mayor has shut down the city essentially indefinitely.  I doubt they let North drive to Lawrence County next Friday night.  🙄

Picking against East will get you kicked out of your new house even before you get moved into Columbus 🙂 haha JK

East will be a work in progress (especially on the offensive side of the ball). It’s a total toss up tonight. They could win, they could get beat by 20 lol

I just know they’ve started slow at times but always finish strong.

I also meant to pick against BNL too but once I saw it I was too lazy to edit it. Maybe they will pull it off.

  9. South Dearborn @ Seymour

    Martinsville @ BNL

    Whiteland @ East

    Paoli @ Madison

    Jennings Co @ Covenant Christian

    Bloomington South @ New Albany

    Floyd Central v Jeff

BNL is very young and banged up again on the OL.

Next year should he a lot of fun and the second half of this year could be as well as these kids get some experience.

Been awhile since I’ve not had a kid on the field but I’m still excited to watch the boys play and very thankful they get to play tonight. I’m also glad to have a ticket in hand.

The only loss CE had at any level against HHC opponents was the 12-7 loss to Seymour at the Freshman level. JV and Varsity both went unbeaten.

BNL due to injuries had a several kids who didn’t play on the Freshmen and JV because they were playing on Friday nights. If this Freshman and Sophomore class stays dedicated in the weight-room they will be a force to be reckoned with. That will be on them though.

    FC vs Jeff.

This is no sure thing. Even though Floyd is favored, Jeffersonville has improved. I have a lot of respect for Lieutenant Parker for being a Jeffersonville Police Detective and being the Head Coach at Jeffersonville. That isn’t easy. They are physical and they have plenty of athleticism. If Floyd Central doesn’t show up ready, they could find themselves in trouble. I think a lot of Coach Bragg, and I’m sure he’s doing everything he can to get them ready. But those kids need to be focused and put this one away at home.

Something is wrong with @Fkfootball he’s talking way to sensibly over the past few weeks. I agree with with his assessment.

I would think FC will win but with BNL’s last three games against these two teams it is no sure thing. I believe FC has enough talent to win it going away but I do think Jeff has a better OL.

Our defense struggled a little bit. They did make a few key plays. Really impressed with BNLs offense. Nikirk threw the ball so well. Really both QBs looked good. It was more exciting than what I thought it would be. I thought both teams would just run the heck out of the ball. The officials were all over the place in this game too. I don’t know what was up with the music. I know FCs coaches were yelling at the booth because they don’t want that either.

Thank you for recognizing that 😀

I’m sure someone will get an earful before next Friday night.

Nikirk is a great young man. Has a great arm. He be playing baseball in college.

Two of my favorite moments from this season were Nikirk (Dalton) throwing TD pass to Nikirk (Dylan) his brother who is a Freshman.

This team had the worst loss a team could have at home to Madison on homecoming night and could have folded but they overcame inexperience and a ton of injuries (season ending) to continue to improve and finish with their heads held high.

Coach Weber and his staff are absolutely incredible and as long as they stay the course and continue to coach at BNL the fruits of their labor is right around the corner.
