South Putnam made a statement Friday night by dominating a very very good Fountain Central Mustang squad 45–7. FC was easily one of the toughest opponents they’ll face all season but South Put controlled the game from start to finish. At this point it’s hard to see anyone in 1A slowing them down. They look poised to walk right into the state finals.

South Put @ RP - I was at the FC vs South Put game, and all I can say is that if South Put can beat a healthy Mustang squad that bad, I don’t think anyone in 1A can stop them. As expected, the first offensive drive by the Mustangs was masterfully executed by Coach King moving the ball effectively through the air and with the QB run game. Herb threw everything he had at them, and South Put didn’t even flinch. I don’t see RP being able to run the ball 50 times and have success against this defense, and their passing game hasn’t shown enough consistency to keep up. South Put looks like the clear front-runner for the state championship, and right now, I don’t see anyone slowing them down. South Put 54 – RP 12

HUGE 1A Tournament Matchup Fountain Central vs. South Putnam Fountain Central comes in red hot as they are winners of 6 of their last 7, averaging 44 points per game while allowing just 8 during that stretch. The Mustangs’ defense has been dominant, but South Putnam will be their toughest test yet. Expect this one to be a battle that’s not decided until the final quarter.

Seeger @ Lewis Cass - Seeger keeps on rolling. I know they almost lost it last week but they're playing too well to pick against and I'll give them the go ahead nod just because they're in the WRC. Seeger 28 - LC 21 South Put @ Fountain Central - This is the game of the week. Probably the best game in the state on Friday. South Put will be coming into Mustang Country and its going to be a heck of a game! The Mustangs are primed and ready to battle. Giving up only 4.5 points in their last four game and scoring 51 points in those same games. FC is on a mission to prove everyone wrong and show they are one of the top teams in 1A. Herb will pull out all of his tricks if needed and win this in a close one. 35-30 MUSTANGS. We're one week away from THE REMATCH North Central @ Riverton Parke - I think most people just thought that the Panthers would beat the Falcons more handedly. They were up 21 at halftime whereas South Put was up 55 at halftime against the Ramblers. A win is a win so I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm glad they were able to rest up and hopefully everyone on the team is up to full health in the next two weeks. RP wins this one but I do think NC will put some pressure on them early. RP 40-14

I could be wrong but I believe the Fountain Central Mustangs, led by Hall of Famer Herb King, have been using a drone to film all of their games this year

They will beat the Wolves twice who have a winning record and were once ranked #10 in class 1A

LCC @ Seeger - Seeger is really good and I see them making it to their sectional championship. It's a down year for LCC. Sullivan @ SV - This will be a similar score to last time these two teams played. Sullivan wins 63-12. It's time to get the Wildcats ready for some basketball. Attica @ South Put - South Put wins easily. They better get up early then rest those starter because they get to play one of the toughest teams they'll play this year next week when they face the Mustangs. PH @ Herb's - Mustangs will take care of business just like they did last week. Mustangs are 5-1 in their last 6 games and continue to improve. I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again NO ONE wants to play the Mustangs right now! @WRC123 It's not time yet! Stangs win big! Covington @ NC - North Central wins in a close one 36-30. If it was at Covington I'd pick them but it's not. RP @ NV - The Panthers win this one and we're one step closer to an epic rematch of week 3!

There’s at least two. Noah Dodson could play at any level. He’s 6’2 225lbs and he’s a beast on the field. Next would be Foxworthy. Only true pocket passer in the WRC. Best natural QB we’ve seen in a long time. Might not be D1 right now but they could play at any level

Attica @ SV - South Vermillion has gotten better throughout the year and the young qb they have is a great athlete. This one won't be close. Wildcats by as much as they want. Covington @ RP - I’ve been hearing some rumblings that the Panthers played their varsity basically the whole game last week. Anyone know if there’s any truth to that? @BillyBettis mentioned in last week’s forum that maybe there was a player vote about whether they’d play the full game or not.. not sure how accurate that is. Either way, I think the Panthers win this one big, regardless of whether the varsity plays in the second half or not. FC @ PH - Man did you guys see the whoopin the Mustangs handed out last week??? PURE DOMINANCE on both sides of the ball. I've said it once and I'll say it again. The Mustangs are DANGEROUS when healthy. Mustangs win this one by 60 plus! Seeger @ NV - Seeger is looking very good right now. I see them getting ahead early and sending the subs in. Gotta stay healthy this time of year. No since in playing starters when a game is wrapped up.

Covington @ Attica - Covington gets another win before playing RP next week. NV @ FC - It was nice to see the Mustangs rolling again. I'm hearing that they are healthy now. They are going to be DANGEROUS heading into the sectional. I would not want to draw them round one.. Mustangs have the starters out by half time and we will get to see Herb's touchdown dance many times 😍 Mustangs will win out the rest of their schedule and make a case to win the sectional RP @ PH - Panthers look to continue their winning streak. I think the Wolves could keep it close for a quarter but the Panthers will win this game by 40 plus. SV @ Seeger - I'm taking the underdogs in this one. SV sneaks one out and opens the door for the Mustangs to take second place in the WRC. (I'm rooting for NV to beat Seeger next week as well)

Some call it average and some call it fascinating... Even if you call it "average" it's hard to be average for 35 years against really good competition. I believe Kevin Allen is the head coach of the Panthers junior high football program. He's the reason for a lot of their success as he has been dominating the local junior high program for the last couple of years. If I had to guess I'd say he'd eat all of your Mom's Spaghetti and leave no scraps

After Herb stepped in, those same programs went a combined 62–65. That’s not perfect, but it’s a massive jump! Nearly doubling the win percentage! Everywhere he’s been, Herb has left the program better than he found it. That’s the Herb Effect.

Really???? The program changer is Herb King!!! He goes to bad program after bad program and gets things moving in the right direction! Lucy doesn't know what she's taking about. I have a very reliable source that stated the job was Herb's if he wanted it. I'm old enough to be your dad probably

07 Rockville team is a top three in the WRC ever. No debate.

The NV team I could agree with. I would put this years RP team up there with the 04 Seeger team and the 07 Rockville team.

Attica @ RP - Riverton will mercy rule the rest of their schedule and rest up for the sectional. Covington @ Seeger - If Seeger plays as well as they did last week I think they can beat just about anybody. Seeger is playing good football and that will continue this week. I could see if being close for a little bit if the Covington qb is back. Seeger wins by 4 scores FC @ SV - Herb is going through it right now. He can't keep his team healthy but they keep fighting. Foxworthy is out again which is a huge loss. I know Herb will figure it out. I don't see FC losing another game the next three weeks. FC by 3 scores PH @ NV - Should be a good game. Both teams will play hard until the end of the game

NV @ Attica - This game might be a tie... Who ever scores twice first wins the game. PH @ Covington - Covington is looking good. Their only loss coming to a good Mustang team. Covington will continue their winning this week. Wolves will keep it interesting for a bit. Covington 34 Wolves 20 Seeger @ Herb's - Foxworthy is back!!! He played against the Rambles last Friday and showed why he's the best qb in the WRC. He threw for 264 yards and 2 tds. He looked healthy too. FC is a DANGEROUS team with him at qb. I don't think this game will be close. KING will have all the answers the Seeger will try and throw at them. @Richard C Herb will have the starters out to rest so it won't get too ugly. FC wins 42 -20 SV @ RP - RPs game with NV was really close in the first half. I'm not sure if they were resting players or not but even if they were, it shouldn't be that close. SV could keep it close for a quarter but RP will pull away and win by 60+

Who all did RP scrimmage this summer? I know FC scrimmaged Pioneer and South Put.. I think maybe even North Judson was at that scrimmage also
