6A Tournament Discussion
adambetz replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Pretty much. They've done a good job of scheduling aggressively in the non-con, but when there's only a couple of quality opponents in the NCC its hard to prepare yourself for the 6A/5A tourney. Most of the past decade the only schools that have been able to challenge them in conference have been Harrison, McCutcheon and Kokomo. I just don't trust them to be battle tested come tournament time. I hope the two WL schools stay on Jeff's schedule. I believe Jeff picked up North Central in week 5 next year, so I'm assuming the NCC schedule is shifting around quite a bit. -

I went to Marion, we had like 1k less kids, that road trip sucked, just a rival. Nothing specific, just pettiness on my part. Oh and they whooped us in everything. EVERYTHING. -

Unless you have to deal with them on a regular basis. I respect Jeff but I'd never go out of my way to cheer for them in anything. -
Carmel Job open
adambetz replied to Footballking16's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
If you're Carmel and CG wouldn't you rather just pick from this list of schools every year? HCC and MIC schools that are willing to play Cathedral Louisville Trinity Louisville St. Xavier Louisville Dupont Manual Louisville Male Cincinnati St. Xavier Cincinnati Moeller Cincinnati LaSalle St Edward (OH) Archbishop Hoban (OH) I think we are closer to the elite Great Lakes high schools creating some sort of scheduling agreement or conference than Carmel and CG joining an existing IHSAA conference. The only conference in the IHSAA that currently fits them turned them down already. -
Saw some talk in the 6A thread about getting a 5A thread going, especially with regards to the Jeff vs Warsaw game. Personally I'm leaning towards the Tigers. Tougher schedule imo, with much better conference competition. I think Warsaw is gonna come out and give Jeff the ole "Noblesville." Can't score if your offense isn't on the field.

3a Tourney Predictions
adambetz replied to MikeTyson15's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Over 300 rushing ypg, defense that flies to the ball and seems to make every play, true dual threat QB with 800 yards passing yards, 13 tds and only 2 ints and over 1k yards rushing. The schedule hasn't been real strong but they handled Lakeland's D1 QB and his plethora of weapons twice. They also handled the terminator Seth Pruitt and West Noble twice. Luers vs Garrett would be a slugfest. -

Luers has Andrean week 2 for at least the next two years so that blows up this little hypothetical sadly. -

When I say opt out, I of course mean it hypothetically. I'm not sure at all about any of the contracts lengths. I do believe a bunch of the SAC schools signed 2 year contracts when the new scheduling configuration started. -

Crown Point vs Lawrence North: LN opts out after home and home with Northside. FW Northside vs New Haven: Luers opts for better comp and drops New Haven after two years. Marriage of convenience between Northside and New Haven. Northside could certainly court a better opponent. FW Luers vs SB St Joe: St Joe and FW Southside done after 2 years. FW Southside vs SB Washington: Panthers fill a hole in week 2 after playing a neutral site game against New Albany this past year. -

CG has Carroll for the next two years in week 2. Westfield played Carmel week 2 this year for the first time. Would imagine that continues going forward. Brownsburg and Cathedral have played week 2 each of the last 3 years. I'd assume that goes at least one more year, probably more. HSE and North Central have played each other week 2 every year since 2014. I'd assume this keeps going. If that date comes open for HSE I'd be excited for HSE/Crown Point. Likewise, Fishers and Pike have played week 2 every year since 2014. Could copy and paste the HSE entry. Warren Central is in year one with Warsaw. Could be a multi year deal or just a one year match-up. WC vs CP would be fun. LN is in year two with FW Northside, and hopefully this is the last game in their series. Couple of programs going in opposite directions. We could be seeing LN vs CP back to back years. I'm sure many of you know more behind the scenes stuff than me. Just wanted to put this all down so we could get a picture of what the possibilities are. -

FWIW, Arizona College Prep is 9-1 and ranked 22nd in Arizona according to both Maxpreps and Calpreps. Projected state champ. Ranked nationally around teams like Concord, Warsaw, Roncalli, Avon according to Calpreps. I won't pretend to be an Arizona hs football expert but it seems like they'd be a solid match-up for any not top 5 IHSAA team. -

I believe your opinion is valid. Crown Point is a great team. Statistically speaking, the number of variables added to the schedule by hypothetically placing CP in the HCC make it far less likely that the Bulldogs would be able to escape the season with 1 or less loss. Not impossible, just less probable. Like others have said, the HCC schedule introduces way more teams that are able to compete with CP. Going from only having to worry about two teams a year to having to properly prepare each and every week. Hypothetically, the wear and tear of playing tougher games and having to play the full 48 minutes will cause injuries. Even if its 60/40 odds that CP would beat HSE, that is a significantly tougher task statistically than say the 80/20 chance they had to beat Valpo. Replace the 95/5 chance of beating Portage with the 70/30 chance of beating Noblesville. That's a statistically significant difference. CP could absolutely go 7-0 in the HCC. Imo its just as likely that they go 4-3. -
There's about three layers of inside jokes and obscure memes here that I don't understand, but its hard to pick against the Dawgz with this kind of enthusiasm.

North Judson 56, Taylor 14: Blue Jays roll, but the Titans score two long touchdowns early to spark some hope. South Adams 41, North Miami 35: The Starfires win their third straight track meet behind their dynamic passing game. South Putnam 42, Sheridan 21: Just too much Eagle for Coach Wright and the Blackhawks to handle. Milan 29, Providence 28: The road warrior Indians chew up the game clock and avenge their two score loss from earlier this year.
-
Center Grove 22, Warren Central 21: I think it is going to be a defensive struggle, interrupted by a couple of big plays. Center Grove scores last and Coach Moore will make the choice to win it in regulation. Lawrence North 38, Brownsburg 24: Another slow start dooms the Bulldogs, as LN's athletes run wild. I think one of these two teams is gonna get the upper hand early and keep a two score lead throughout the game. I could see Brownsburg being the dominant team, but no one has stopped that LN offense yet. Westfield 35, Fishers 14: Shamrock and roll.

Temp’s Eliminator Poll (Week 3)

14-10 Snider at halftime. Snider scores on the first drive after the break to make it 21-10. Lightning postponed immediately after the extra point. -
Temp’s Eliminator Poll (Week 3)

Snider/EN was a weird game. Dead even about halfway through and got postponed to the next day at like 10am on a different field. Snider held EN scoreless after the restart. If you throw out any game it's that one. -

2024 2A Football
adambetz replied to First_Backer_Inside's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
AC should handle Eastside and the winner of Eastern/Tipton fairly easily. That LCC/Andrean game should (no disrespect to Bremen, just different weight classes in that game) be fun. Wouldn't mind seeing that match up every year in the regular season. -

I also have Madison over North Harrison, but I'm not sure how much of an upset that is.
