  1. Also love how they just wear Indiana on most of their uniforms.
  2. Orioles is the mascot. Deaf Hoosiers is the nickname.
  3. Before the recent defections of a handful of IHSAA schools I was really worried about the future of 8 man, and now it looks better than it ever has.
  4. I doubt it. In fact I bet the shut New Haven out.
  5. Owensboro Apollo had a senior baseball player come out this year and caught 7 balls for 268 yards and 5 touchdowns last week in his first football game. Looks big and fast, could be a problem
  6. Andrean 35, Luers 21 Carroll 28, Center Grove 21 Decatur Central 56, Wayne 0 East Noble 28, Snider 7 Eastbrook 43, Concordia 42 Bishop Dwenger 21, Toledo St Francis de Sales 7 Warsaw 40, Northrop 28 North Side 28, New Haven 0 South Bend St Joseph 35, South Side 21 Noblesville 38, Homestead 35
  7. Outside the Huddle is reporting this in more of a "removed" sorta way. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2026/08/24/sources-ben-johnson-no-longer-the-football-coach-at-north-side/
  8. Milan has been solid for the past decade
  9. It's not like half of East Noble's starters are college football players too or anything. EN had the best player on the field according to recruit rankings too. Easy to blame on bad coaching. This is a half decade of almost putting a team together. However, losing by three scores to EN week 1 is something that would happen to a lot of good teams.
  10. Northside QB is out tbf. Still woulda picked EN even if he was playing
  11. AC 35, Luers 24 East Noble 42, Northside 30 Warsaw 35, Snider 21 Leo 49, Wayne 14 Northrop 56, Gary West 7 Carroll 35, HSE 31 Roncalli 21, Dwenger 7 Westfield 42, Homestead 21 Secina 38, Concordia 6 Marion 42, Southside 35
  12. Yay it's prediction season. Let's throw these guesses out. Booneville 35, Bosse 7 Gibson Southern 35, Floyd Central 34 Heritage Hills 70, South Spencer 0 Mt. Vernon (Posey) 35, Forest Park 7 Washington 27, North Daviess 20 Southridge 28, North Posey 27 Eastern Greene 34, Pike Central 26 Princeton 15, Tecumseh 13 Tell City 30, Perry Central 12
  13. There used to be a website called mghelmets or mgshelmets or something where this graphic designer had a created one of these for almost every football helmet ever including high schools. I think the website went away about a decade ago.
  14. The big issues a lot of the coaches at (I assume) smaller schools seem to be having is sharing. If there's an open period, you want your athletes practicing with you during that period. Most of the time at smaller schools, those athletes are already actively practicing for a in season sport. Every missed session is a wasted day in the football coaches mind. The kids get burnt out essentially playing three sports year round. Lose lose situation for everyone. Like a coach mentioned in the survey, lift weights all off season but don't pressure the kids to think they need to be playing football year round. Start ramping up in the summer. Obviously for the bigger schools where one sport specialization is more common this would probably actually hurt them more than it would help. It's hard for the IHSAA because the law you write for Hamilton Southeastern has to be followed by Sheridan and vice-versa. I feel like having less live periods would help 1A through 4A with turnout and burnout, but it would hurt 5A and 6A (and some 3a and 4a schools) where one sport specialization is more prevalent. And of course if only 1A-4A had less live periods it would leave them at an even larger disadvantage when playing those bigger schools simply due to less time spent together. I think they mean any sort of organized sport outside of the school. 7 on 7, AAU, travel baseball etc.
  15. Gonna be real interesting when they show up in your sectional this year.
  16. How many D1 guys did they have a couple years ago when Tae Johnson was terrorizing the Summit City? They need to break the mold they have fallen into the past couple of years. TractionAP is pushing out talent like a Play-Dough Fun Factory and it just hasn't really come together completely for the Legends. When they have the QB to feed the weapons the weapons are hurt. When the weapons are ready its a down year a QB. Just weird stuff like that. Depth in the trenches is where they lose to Carroll and Homestead, yet their talent there is top end. They should be in the favorite hunt but can they put a full season together? They really haven't yet. Also, just up north in 4A, East Noble has a sophomore with an Ohio State offer. That week one matchup should be telling if the Legends are state contenders. Northside struggled with Concord and Mishawaka would be just as tough. Northside, Luers, Dwenger, Mishawaka, Hobart, Lowell, Yorktown, Delta, Kokomo, St Joe, Columbia City, Leo, DeKalb, NorthWood, and Northridge. Loaded semistate. I really hope the eventual winner is on this list lol
  17. Completely fair assessment. 100% is a moot point. No way FWCS splits their highschools.
  18. You're 100% correct on all mentioned. I'm sure the kids would rather have a 2 hour bus ride home from competing for a conference title than getting blown out in their backyard every other night. Your point is about financials but my point is driven by cultural, demographical and competitive fit.
  19. I don't think the ACAC is done adding/subtracting
  20. Its more about demographics and money and less about location. Marion plays Southside in almost every sport, especially the ones where both programs are lagging. Both schools would fit perfectly with strongest basketball and okay football and bad everything else.
  21. South and Wayne should join the North Central Conference.
  22. Concordia pulls the plug on the SAC, bringing the ACAC to 8 teams and a much more solid foundation to build from should Jay County or Southern Wells decide to bolt as rumored/discussed over the past few years. With Bluffton and Adam Central's growth, this gives the ACAC a strong group of 5 or 6 like sized schools with the exceptions being the aforementioned Raiders and the solid athletic department of South Adams. Adding Concordia also gives the ACAC a full 7 game football schedule, making it so that they won't have to have an odd week for a non-conference game. Had it on good faith that the ACAC was saving that 8th spot for Blackhawk, will be interesting to see what happens with that now.
