How many D1 guys did they have a couple years ago when Tae Johnson was terrorizing the Summit City? They need to break the mold they have fallen into the past couple of years. TractionAP is pushing out talent like a Play-Dough Fun Factory and it just hasn't really come together completely for the Legends. When they have the QB to feed the weapons the weapons are hurt. When the weapons are ready its a down year a QB. Just weird stuff like that. Depth in the trenches is where they lose to Carroll and Homestead, yet their talent there is top end. They should be in the favorite hunt but can they put a full season together? They really haven't yet. Also, just up north in 4A, East Noble has a sophomore with an Ohio State offer. That week one matchup should be telling if the Legends are state contenders. Northside struggled with Concord and Mishawaka would be just as tough. Northside, Luers, Dwenger, Mishawaka, Hobart, Lowell, Yorktown, Delta, Kokomo, St Joe, Columbia City, Leo, DeKalb, NorthWood, and Northridge. Loaded semistate. I really hope the eventual winner is on this list lol

Finally, some imagination. -
Fort Wayne Concordia to ACAC

Completely fair assessment. 100% is a moot point. No way FWCS splits their highschools. -

What conferences? -
Fort Wayne Concordia to ACAC

You're 100% correct on all mentioned. I'm sure the kids would rather have a 2 hour bus ride home from competing for a conference title than getting blown out in their backyard every other night. Your point is about financials but my point is driven by cultural, demographical and competitive fit. -

I don't think the ACAC is done adding/subtracting -
Fort Wayne Concordia to ACAC

Its more about demographics and money and less about location. Marion plays Southside in almost every sport, especially the ones where both programs are lagging. Both schools would fit perfectly with strongest basketball and okay football and bad everything else. -

South and Wayne should join the North Central Conference. -
Concordia pulls the plug on the SAC, bringing the ACAC to 8 teams and a much more solid foundation to build from should Jay County or Southern Wells decide to bolt as rumored/discussed over the past few years. With Bluffton and Adam Central's growth, this gives the ACAC a strong group of 5 or 6 like sized schools with the exceptions being the aforementioned Raiders and the solid athletic department of South Adams. Adding Concordia also gives the ACAC a full 7 game football schedule, making it so that they won't have to have an odd week for a non-conference game. Had it on good faith that the ACAC was saving that 8th spot for Blackhawk, will be interesting to see what happens with that now.

There are currently 6 IHSAA football teams with open games in the week 5 or week 6. The two in week 5, Monroe Central and Wes-Del, actually happen to play each other in week 6. If they shift that game a week forward, and fun opportunity for the 6 teams missing dates on week 6 to have a fun little Eastern Indiana vs Region showdown. On a Saturday we could have Wes-Del vs Bowman Academy Monroe Central vs Hammond Central Connersville vs East Chicago Central all at the same field to cut operations costs for all involved. I'm sure Hammond Central would love to put their beautiful facility to work. Chicago could be a fun weekend trip.

Future of the SAC

Only two IHSAA opponents with week 3 openings (Mater Dei and LaVille). Carroll might be looking to buy out someone else's contract or go out of state. -

Not sure this SAC football split leads to any conference changes, but if it did I'd like this; Summit 1: Carroll Dwenger Homestead Northrop Snider Summit 2: Columbia City East Noble Leo Luers Northside Summit 3: Dekalb Huntington North New Haven Southside Wayne Summit 4: Bellmont Concordia Heritage Norwell Woodlan Promotion/relegation, play whoever you want in your 5 out of conference games -

My conference road trips were Richmond, Logansport and Tech lol, luckily we had Harrison at home. -

Indiana has two of the best highschool football conferences in the nation. MIC is coming back for its crown. Can HCC shut them out of the state title game for the third straight year? Once is an accident, twice is coincidence, thrice is a pattern imo -
1A State Tournament: OFFICIAL Thread

I'd guess South Putnam's run has been less impressive thanks to Milan clearing out the other big hitters. Think SP might have a size advantage up front and that might be tr he difference. I wonder if their defense will be disciplined enough to handle the tricky Panther offense. -

I think AC handles Andrean again. I have no read on the BC/Lapel matchup. First to 100 wins? -
Knox 28-21. Final.
-
30-27 Cascade mid third
-
He scores his fourth td but the 2pt try fails. Knox 28-21 with around 2 to go.
-
St Joes 10, Hobart 7. Final.
-
McLaughlin sets the single season national rushing yards record. Knox still leads just 22-21. They are bleeding the clock in the mid 4th.
