Temp’s Eliminator Poll (After Week 12)
adambetz replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I have a hard time taking Yorktown over Gibson Southern and Heritage Hills. On the other hand, Yorktown played New Pal better than almost everyone and proved they were the better team than Pendleton Heights by winning convincingly on the road. Roncalli is a tough matchup next week but the Royals must make the trek to Tiger Town. Top of the NIC flexed their collective muscles tonight with two great wins and both have 50/50 shots to win next week in my eyes. -
What a Final 4 in Sectional 36

Swing your sword Shoals -
It's obviously HCC, then the MIC, but how does it go after that? Is it better if a conference has 1 or 2 great teams, or 4 or 5 quality teams? My guess: 1. HCC 2. MIC 3. DAC 4. Mid-States 5. SAC 6. Hoosier Heritage 7. SIAC 8. NLC 9. Circle City 10/HM. NIC, Pocket, Conference Indiana, Eastern Indiana, Hoosier Hills, NE8, NW Crossroads Top 5 small school conferences: 1. Pocket 2. Hoosier Legends 3. Monon 4. Indiana Northern State 5. ACAC or CIC Sorry if I forgot your conference and yes I am probably wrong.

They claim to operate in a "college-prepatory environment." Bet they go to as many classes as the IMG guys do

St. Thomas Aquinas played NFL Academy at Hotspur Stadium in London? Imagine getting to play a highschool football game across the pond. Insane.

Out of State Dream Matchups
adambetz replied to Gipper's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
The future of highschool football imo is some sort of super conference. Something like Cathedral joining the four big Cincy Catholics (Elder, LaSalle, Moeller, St. X) and the three Kentucky Catholic powers (Cov Cath, St. X and Trinity) to create a Tri-State Catholic League. The HCC probably survives on the merit of it being one of the top conferences in the country year after year. Us Northern guys have been kicking around ideas for improving Penn's conference schedule, and I think a super conference could help. I would rope in DAC teams, but it makes more sense for them to improve their schedules with trips across the state line. Something like Penn, Elkhart, Homestead, Carroll, Dwenger in the big division, Luers, St Joe, Mishawaka Marian, New Prairie and Concordia in the small division. With the hypothesis that the biggest schools will continue to grow, while those in less growth conducive situations continue their stasis, I wrote out a plan for a 24 team super league somewhere with a North divisions with something like Homestead, Carroll, Crown Point, Merrillville, Penn and Elkhart, Suburbs division with Fishers, HSE, Carmel, Noblesville, Westfield and Zionsville, Central division with Avon, Brownsburg, Decatur Central, Ben Davis, LN and LC, and a South(ish) division with Center Grove, Columbus North, East Central, Franklin Central, New Palestine and Warren Central. Play each of your five division mates, one school from each of the other divisions on a rotating basis, and one non-con game (so games like WC-BD and Carmel-Center Grove can be played). Obviously a far fetched idea, but a fun thought experiment. -

Temp’s Top 25 (After Week 7)

I do not believe that the SAC is better than the Mid States. -
#1 (2A) 7-0 Adams Central AT #8 (2A) 7-0 Bluffton
adambetz replied to 260AC's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Jets are the Tigers boogeyman. Bluffton has been improving for the last decade uder Daddy Kunks. I'll be pulling hard for the Tigers but I'd be lying if I thought the Tigers walk away with the W. AC's defense is they key. The Beste to Streveler connection will test AC's defensive backfield (awesome matchup with all the athletes in AC's defensive backfield) and the two headed monster of Craig and Moore will be running right towards Frabel (sp? I mean AC's stud lineman but I cannot remember his name for the life of me). Jets 28-10 -

TEC and ACAC both down to 6. ACAC had plans in the works for an 8th, football only, member and I wonder if that still goes through. TEC should probably just invite Monroe Central and Wes-Del, and I wonder if the TEC remainders voted down the MEC merger due to EH and Doah being included. HHC down to 5 unless they've added a team I've forgotten to replace Shelbyville. Are Bloomington South and Columbus North suddenly desperation options? -
Midseason Mr. Football frontrunners

He was after week 5 and also apparently now -
Which sucks because Kokomo fits the new Sagamore so well in my opinion. Kokomo and Jeff would take the conference to 8 before the Terre Haute merger is finalized. West Lafayette could be the 8th afterwards.

Preaching to the choir Backer. A shame that sports specialization is being preached in club programs all around the state every day.
-
I'm not sure. I'm sure most of their football players are home grown but their student base has benefited.

Started play this year with the 6 smaller schools. Greenwood and Shelbyville to join next year.
-
Shelbyville and Greenwood will both soon be big fish in a 3A/2A conference next year. That should help them both. I expect both teams to fair better joining the Hoosier Legends Conference with Indian Creek, Triton Central, Speedway, Beech Grove, Monrovia and Tri-West. Might take some embarrassing lumps at first but they will find succes and success breeds success. Richmond should be better than 0-10 every year. They should at least compete with the Muncie Centrals and Marions of the world. No knowledge on Jennings County other than thats a toughish conference most years.
-
Why isn't Munster good?
-
Whoops. Hope I don't send anyone the wrong way. Got my Reitz Memorial and Reitz backwards. Confusing matchup lol
-
The Terre Haute schools have struggled with the same issues (although to a lesser extent) as the NCC schools. Jobs leaving, urban blight, open enrollment, yadda yadda yadda. Consolidation might give a shot at in the arm initially but I expect sustained success to be hard to come by in their new conference consisting of Danville, Lebanon, Harrison and McCutcheon.

Wayne seems to have quit the last few weeks, while Concordia seems to run out of talent. Give me Concordia in a minor upset special. Concordia 32-29 I think Dwenger big brothers Luers. The confidence the Knights offense has built up the past couple of weeks will be false as the Saints force turnovers against the young offense. Dwenger 28-7 The Archers are my favorite team in the SAC and I've been proud of their performance so far this year. I think its going to be a track meet on the south side. North 50-35 Either the Northrop O runs wild or the two bitter rivals will play a defensive stalemate at Spuller. The Panthers will keep it close in the first half. Northrop 35-14 I think Carroll and Homestead should be a rock fight. Homefield advantage is the key. Carroll 28-21
