    4. Dustin Sherer, Hamilton Heights; Wisconsin. Sherer led Hamilton Heights to a 33-7 record and threw for 6,371 yards and 61 touchdowns during his Huskies career. "There were always going to be people out there who say that because Dustin came from a small school he can't be that good," Heights coach Steve Stirn said. "I always said, 'Come see him play.' " He was Wisconsin's starting quarterback in 2008, completing 54.5 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and five interceptions in the Badgers run-heavy offense. His senior year, Scott Tolzien took over as Wisconsin's starter. In 2016, he joined the Tipton coaching staff as an assistant.

I thought that was illegal down yonder, HH kid on Tipton's staff   😎

Thanks for sharing this coach! Lots of players that I forgot about. It was a great trip down memory lane.

I literally had 10 people reach out to me asking why their log ins do not work anymore in the last 2 weeks, they will get around to signing back in.

Will it ever be the same as it once was during the heyday of the Holy Wars of GID, I would say probably not, why, as I have stated, the digital world we live in has transformed message boards from the go to place to the if I want to go to place.   The go to places are for information 1st has been Facebook, Twitter.

Me personally speaking see ZERO issues.

So lets say the forum stays at 500 members come August, then our community is 500 members, still will cost you $0.00  whether there was 500 members or 5000 members.

FYI:   I am a twitter fella:   Have access to GID twitter account:   https://twitter.com/?logout=1549488372455

    8000 followers :       Hmmmmmmmmm

I have faith that GID Nation will be back in full force this upcoming season.

I don't think there has been serious consideration to abandoning TA's desire to keep it a free site outside of a couple of personalities.  There is an annual drive for donations and, to my knowledge, it raises enough or close to enough to never make the serious thought of a pay site enter into the admins' minds.

Agreed.  You can sometimes see the ebb start as soon as some teams are eliminated from the post-season tourney and many mothball their accounts on Saturday night of the finals; especially if they didn't have a dog in the fight.  This is actually the second year that I think I remained active through to this point after the finals, but in the past, when football season was over, my time on GID fell off until usually August of the next season.  I spent the better part of at least six years on GID as a seasonal participant that then mothballed the account for about seven months a year.

I normally check out the forum twice a week or so in the deep off-season, which I consider around now until July when the season is right around the corner. I'm normally active in the out of bounds section year round.

Again. I strongly disagree that GID conference thread followers will take their business elsewhere en masse were the GID to go pay only.  Just don't see it happening.  Look at the measley numbers we have here post crash.  People will throw in the towel rather than try to move their sub community to another site.

The measly numbers are to be expected. The site traffic goes down significantly in the off-season. I bet that a large amount of posters aren't even aware that the site even crashed and rebooted.

Millennials are consistently searching for convenience which is why they will pay for delivery of fast food. In the same way they won't pay $20 for a pay site when there are just as convenient options that also happen to be free.

I'm a 29 year old millennial, but I typically don't care much about convenience. I care about getting the best deal possible. I'll pass on paying $20 for a website that has little to no traffic.

  6. My main question is, if the GID is converted to a paysite, will the $20 be simply for posters or for everyone? I'm not an administrator, but I've gathered over my years on this site that a large amount of this site's traffic comes from "guests" or non members, AKA players coaches, fans, parents etc who are checking out what the chatter is.

I'm not against charging a "poster" fee in principal. I believe though that the website will be low on content. If the website turns into pay only to view and post, the GID will fold and/or slip into irrevelency within a year.

Remember that TA didn't do this for profit. He wanted to share his love of football with everyone. If we make this website "for profit" it will become an abomination of the creator's original vision.

Coach White resigned in December and NJSP promoted Alum, and recent staff member Brett Lambert to HC.

Coach Lambert played at Judson, then did some coaching stints under Brad Urban at West Central, Greg Willis at NN, Chris Meeks at RCHS, then back to NJSP under Kirk Kennedy, took a few years off (growing family) and got back in last year.  Has been Head Track coach their last 5 years or so as well.   Young guy who should be in it for the long haul I would assume.

Congrats to Cousin Brett. I know that Grandma is smiling down from above and was always his biggest fan. She had a newspaper clipping on her fridge for the longest time about how he had scored 5 or 6 TDs in a game.

  8. Hilton is still the man in Indy, and will be Luck's main weapon and target until Indy drafts or stumbles upon a better target. Don't forget that good defenses are capable of game planning around stopping Hilton because Luck has one of the worst receiving corps in the league. Dontrelle Inman was a good midseason pick up, but he isn't a long term answer.

The Colts need to draft a WR with their first round pick or one of their second round picks, then take a chance at another in the later rounds.
