Last year Kiser, Gregorich, and others would stay on the field for parts of the second half, but only on defense. When Pioneer played teams like Caston and North White, I recall the coaches playing some skill players out of position and giving the second team players reps in the first quarter.

Pioneer was good enough that they could have possibly doubled their season scoring total.

Pioneer has a kid named Derek Wireman who racked up a lot of second half yards in blowouts. He had 336 yards rushing last year, 91 against Winamac on 12 carries.

Keeping your starters in on offense and defense after half when your up 48 to 0? Or 55-0?

On a Purdue forum last year, a certain Pioneer poster had a conniption fit when people on there called them out for keeping their starters in against LCC and North Vermilion. People around the state saw that and as do others in our conference. Its just the main posters in these thread are either Pioneer coaches using multiple names, a couple Pioneer coaches who use 1 account and a LaVar Ball wanna be.. Then there's us... Then some certain posters who are so far up in the Panther staff's back side that they don't know what's night and what's day.

Had no idea that was even in consideration until i saw tweets in the middle of the season by a certain someone and you know exactly who im talking about.

The state isn't stupid. We all saw what was going on and i know people on here and on Harrells called them out for it.

    But is the country stupid?

    Ill say

    Culver 55 Caston 12.

    Knox 22 Pioneer 20

    LaVille 27 Glenn 13

    North Judson 48 Triton 12

    Winamac 36 West Central 12.

Russell Compton is 11 yards away from moving into 6th all time in career passing and is 36 yards away from 2,000 for his career... Not to shabby for a kid that didn't start playing QB until half way through 8th grade.

Do you not trust Pioneer? What makes you think that Knox will actually win?

Do you ever quit talking about who is not on your team, or who moved, or who is injured?  Why don't you just talk about the players that are playing?  All teams have guys that are hurt or have moved away.  You don't hear everyone on here whining about what could of been for their teams.  Move on!  And you wonder why people give you a hard time on here!

Looks like he got under your skin.

  6. Brissett completed his first 16 passes vs ATL and looked like a wizard in doing so. ATL struggles a bit defensively and this obviously isn't the norm, but it's great to know that Brissett is capable of playing at a high level.

Northwestern. Western. Hamilton Heights. Cass. Tipton. Twin Lakes. Pioneer.

    Why not?

That would work and would be in my backyard, although 4A Western might crush Pioneer in a few sports or when they're down. Maybe take away HH and add Peru and Maconaquah for 8.

Well, did we all just witness Mr. Vinatieri's last game in a Colt uniform?  Will he retire before next week's game?

Apparently the Indy front office wants to keep Vinny around. Personally, I'm not sure if the alternatives are any better with it being week 3.

According to the 19-20 classifications, enrollments are:

    Caston - 211, Culver - 239, Triton - 270, Pioneer - 288, NJSP - 331, Winamac - 376, LaVille - 386, Knox - 571

It seems Caston is experiencing exactly what Culver and Triton were feeling in the old NSC (related to football).  It was difficult to compete year in and year out.  Pretty hard to build excitement for the program when you get trounced 5-6 times a year!

Personally I would love to see Bremen (509) replace Caston in the conference.  The Lions would bring excellent competition in almost every boys and girls sport!

Out of pure selfishness, I would love to see a team South of Pioneer join, due to the fact that I live an hour South of Pioneer and as of now I make it to 1-2 games a year. Luckily I have RTCTV4 to watch.

Let them talk--JB's not going anywhere.  Besides, do you think a blueblood like USC or Auburn will hire a coach with a .500 winning percentage?  I think a lot of people talk crap just because they don't have anything logical to say.

Nope. If Brohm takes Purdue to a Rose Bowl in a few years I'm sure that the blue bloods will be coming. I personally think that Brohm will stay a long time.  Worst case I think one of his family members stays and continues Jeff's work.

Travel distance is a cop out.

Schedule Volleyball games on a Saturday if that is an issue

Concur Caston to MWC would be very beneficial to all

My only qualm about the MWC currently is that the majority of the schools in that conference have major issues with very low numbers. Some of those programs are only a few unfortunate injuries from canceling their seasons or canceling a game or two, plus the 1A schools in the MWC have got to be consolidation risks.

I guess it's a risk worth taking though from a competitive standpoint.

It just amazes me how fortunate Pioneer has been lately with the talent of some of their programs, despite having an enrollment of 270ish. Pioneer had state finals appearances in three sports last year alone. It's crazy because a lot of the surrounding 1A schools struggle to even compete in many sports.

Purdue will start getting the good ones.  It's happened before, will happen again...

No doubt, good days are on the horizon! Unfortunately there are already people out there talking about replacing Brohm. Those people obviously don't follow the program very closely.

Brohm has stated multiple times he prefers to play a challenging out of conference schedule. Nevada was already on the schedule from years ago, though clearly, it was no cake walk.

I do agree that it is possible they don't have the firepower to bounce back from a tough start, but I did think so the previous two years either. There is a lot of football left to be played.

Brohm did scour the market for a grad transfer on the o-line has he has the last two years. He did not find one he deemed suitable, as he stated in the preseason. What that means, it is hard to be sure, but likely he was very considerate of team chemistry and didn't find the right fit. He has recruited JC o-line guys, but more often than not, that doesn't address the solution. The offensive line always takes the longest to develop and he has recruited it heavily, but his oldest recruits are redshirt sophomores. They will be fine in time.

I've read reports that IU OL Coy Cronk was going to transfer to Purdue due to wanting to be closer to one of his grandparents, but then said grandparent passed away, so Cronk decided to stay at IU. If Cronk had transferred and Mendez had stayed, Purdue's line would be a strength.

I believe Caston could probably beat Tri County and South Newton if the old MWC was in tact.

I like the old MWC, but I'm glad that Pioneer got out of it when they did. Their schedule this year, if still in the old MWC, would probably be the worst in the state. It would have included Caston, North White, South Newton, Tri-County, and West Central, all programs that are extremely down this season. Pioneer would win all of these games by 60+.

Bremen at Triton - This is the only game with some intrigue this week.  Triton has only beaten Bremen 2 times in the last 35 years.  I think Triton is capable of competing, but they won't.  Bremen has been looking forward to a winnable game on their schedule.  This will be a large Bremen win, one of only a couple on the season.  Next week against Clay is the other one.  Bremen 35-13
Culver at West Central - Culver should control the game with methodical drives that end in scores.  Not a ton of scoring in this one, but I don't think it will be close.  Culver 28-6
North Judson at Knox - Rivalry games can be unpredictable!  I love a motivated underdog in a rivalry game!  But I don't think this one will live up to the last couple of close games.  The Redskins should run away with this one.  Knox 35-14
Pioneer at Caston - The only question in this game is:  Will either Lewellan be tackled tonight?  The Panther JV won't be able to keep from scoring.  Running clock won't help.  Pioneer 76-0
Winamac at LaVille - The Warriors will probably get on the board in this one, but I don't see them moving the ball with any consistency.  The Lancers will score easily and often.  LaVille 45-7

Pioneer score was very close to your prediction!
