@AG insinuated that the Covid merry-go round would continue “until” (his words) there was a vaccine available...hence my question.

The flu (a disease 20 times more dangerous to children I might add) vaccine is readily available and is not 100 percent effective so my question remains.

Well obviously I meant until there is an "effective" vaccine available.

If “guarantee” is your standard for a solution, you’re going to be disappointed. There are no guarantees with any solution ... including the “let’s get back to ‘normal’ and pretend there’s nothing going on” solution.

We can also call this the “let’s generate permanent employment for a lot of lawyers” solution.

Job security for you my man.

    I don’t.

Then we're just going to continue this Covid charade until a vaccine is developed. If it was up to me, the federal government would mandatorily test the entire country. They should have done this months ago and it would have saved congress from having to pass several of these trillion dollar relief packages. Anyone testing positive is then quarantined. If they want to put up a fight, they can then be tried with a felony after their quarantine is finished. We need to get back to normal, but what we're doing isn't working.

While I agree is it all or nothing?  If schools are in person, fall sports should be “a go” no?

While one is essential (school) and the other is not (athletics) how can you look kids straight in the face and tell them it’s OK to pack into buildings with thousands of classmates but not participate in athletics after school with dozens?

I personally believe that all schools should either be canceled for the upcoming school year or it should all be done online again like it was in March, April, and May.

Certain people won't look at it this way and it's a shame.   Of course it's out of selfishness.   When less than 175 people under age 24 have died in THE UNITED STATES IN 5 MONTHS what else could it be.    But hey let's take away from kids and hide them away in front of ps4.   Its ridiculous.   I'm more worried about long term concussion issues than I am covid effecting athletes.      But that's me.   Others will differ.

It's not about the teenagers dying, it's about limiting the amount of people who catch the virus, carry it, and then give it to higher risk people. It's all about limiting transmission rates.

Bragged about taking a family vacation?  Don’t forget. Paid straight cash homey. 😉

We had this planned and paid for months in advance. The powers that be didn’t cancel. So we CHOSE (freedom) our path. We PRAYED and made our decisions.

    I am celebrating my freedom.

I “potentially” endangered people by not wearing a mask?  Your words. Masks aren’t mandated.  If you are wearing a mask, why do you care if I’m not?  You are “protected”. My body, my choice!  Or does that only go for the murdering of babies?

Have a great day at work tomorrow.

    That’s DannEllenwood to you sporty.

    ALL LIVES MATTER.

    Luckily I'm off tomorrow.

Wearing a mask protects others, not vice versa.

  7. Ellenwood, what I don't understand about you is why you've come on here and have practically bragged about traveling to Florida, a known hot spot, and didn't wear a mask because of your "freedom" and etc. What are you celebrating exactly, your freedom to make bad choices and potentially endanger the lives of others? What's so empowering about that? Then you're even cocky and proud of it.

I believe that you and many others have confused what you believe is freedom with selfishness. Not following rules or regulations isn't freedom either, as you bragged about as well.

Whatever helps you sleep at night there.  Again with the spin job.

I will NEVER apologize for saying All Lives Matter.

If I were you, I'd stop talking.  You keep trying to spin things, but man are your views racist.

Many of the accusations you've been throwing my way are exactly how I feel about you, except that my viewpoints actually make sense.

Only certain Black Lives matter to AG and Ron.

    All Lives Matter!

They just can't say it.  Their views are too racist.

    Go Woke, Go Broke!

Keep putting words in my mouth and shout it from the top of the mountains. You're not only ignorant, you're childish as well.

LOL @ innocent toddlers and children getting caught in crossfire and dying not qualifying as “something major.”

LOL @ a young African African law enforcement officer with a family getting killed this spring in Indianapolis also not qualifying as “something major.”

But let’s rally around guys like George Floyd and Sean Reed.

Wow, just WOW.  How embarrassing for you.

These aren't necessarily my viewpoints, I was speaking from more of a viewpoint of the majority. How embarrassing.

You are the one opening your mouth and allowing your racist views to spill out, not me.

    WOW!

Liberal logic.....blame the others of what you are actually doing.  Heard it all before, yada, yada, yada

Nice spin.  BTW, you are welcome for the Jackson information.  Still awaiting your spin on that too.

I've only seen Jackson criticized for his comments. I'm guessing that he's not being picked apart by half of the NFL due to the fact that there's probably a much smaller amount of Jewish NFL players as opposed to black NFL players.

Many on the far left see the usage of "All Lives Matter" as racist.

I'm not okay with the All Lives Matter "movement" because it's not an actual movement. It was a knee jerk reaction to the BLM movement. Part of it was a misunderstanding, part of it was intentional to deliberately discredit the BLM movement. It has roots in racism and ignorance.

    We have reached peak stupidity!

You must not get out much. Both of these are common viewpoints from the left. Never thought I would be accused of being racist by a far right Trump supporter either. Oh the irony.

So with this thinking, you 100% support someone that says  WLM (White Lives Matter), because in your own words, "they matter just as much as other lives, not MORE."

    Wow are you a racist!

He, nor any of his like minded ilk, can not answer that.  Just like their talking heads they listen to can't answer it.

People tend to be reactionary. The majority of people won't protest unless something major happens.

Let’s just finally call this what it is...

Black lives matter MOST (to the point of marching, kneeling and protesting) to many folks when it fits the narrative of victimization, especially by authority figures and the white man.

    Otherwise, not so much.

    I highly disagree.

If “all lives matter” then why the silence from the NFL folks about Jackson’s comments?

    Shouldn’t there be outrage?

MUCH more inflammatory than anything Brees said, yet crickets.

    Ultimate hypocrisy.

I don't know. I just don't care for the phrase being used In general, so I downvoted him. I'll have to read more into Jackson's comments.

Winamac has a new coach but will finally have experience on their side

    Seniors

Dakota Podell, Trent Fox, Cale Pesaersi as seniors.. Going into their 3rd year of being starters. Patrick Kiefer if he returns from his eye injury that cost him his jr year will be a 2 yr starter (had he played last year.. He'd be a 3 year).. Brayden lynch is a 2 year.

    Juniors

Russell Compton, Logan Schultz, Hayden Clark and Kyle Olds are in their 3rd year as starters..same with Max Murray. Beau Brandt will be in his 2nd year. Jaxon Roudebush, Brendan Day and Remi Schwartz got valuable expierence last year too.

Coach Barr had to completely rebuild the program and now with that over. John can come in with an expierenced group. The sophomore class is virtually non existent (2-4 kids) and the freshman will be 7-10.

I see them competing for the 4th spot.. Maybe hang with LaVille for awhile.

What were the losses from last year? I expect good things from the Warriors this season.

@AG hilarious that a girl doing the right thing gets people so triggered. Have a great day.

The IHSAA has already added Flag Football.  There is no no need for 8 man.  If varsity is too much of a stretch for a football playing school, then flag is a good secondary club level option

    https://www.news-sentinel.com/sports/2018/05/03/reggie-hayes-ihsaa-makes-great-move-adding-flag-football-to-its-unified-sports-program/

I am against both.  Contraction or Flag are better options.

Won't schools switching to 8-man football be a form of contraction?

Read above.  I’m actually on board with the changes but the timing of them is what makes me skeptical.  Why now?

The Redskin nickname has been around for 87 years.

    The Indians for 105.

It’s simple.  The “woke culture” is applying the pressure.  Nothing is safe.  It’d have been a much more genuine gesture had it been changed before but the current climate of the country makes everything a target.

Hell, this came up 7 years ago and Dan Snyder was interviewed and ADAMANT that the nickname would NEVER change, yet here we are.

Why is it a bad thing that "woke culture" is causing bad things to change? "Oh no, racist and offensive things are being destroyed!!!"

  21. 9 minutes ago, Temptation said:

It’s called caving to pressure and staying ahead of the story so you don’t become the story.  The cancel culture has its sights on anything and everything.  Such cowardice.

Are you unable to see your own biases, racism, and ignorance?

  22. 22 hours ago, Temptation said:

Oh, I agree and actually agree that Redskins should be changed.  Hell, it should have been a LONG TIME AGO.

    But why now?  Odd timing?

Nah, FedEx reads the writing on the wall.  Silence isn’t good enough these days.  Get ahead of the story before you BECOME the story.

Every time the “woke culture” scores a victory, they feel empowered and move on to the next thing.  It will never stop.

It's called change and it's inevitable.

A better option would be to allow small schools to form co-op teams, like they do in Illinois.

I like the idea because it will allow small, struggling programs a chance to have success and it will allow other, non-football playing schools a chance to have a program.

Regardless, it will lead to contraction while still technically having a program, which should make you and DT jump for joy. It sounds like the best of both worlds to me.
