I notice you list your school affiliation as Lewis Cass. How can you live with yourself? Their nickname is the Kings. Escaping from monarchical rule is the principle on which this country was founded. It is the opposite of what this country stands for. It’s also blatantly sexist, implicitly approving a male-dominated government structure, and elitist. The use of “Kings” offends me ... and all right-thinking people. Shameful.
I notice that your name is Bob. Bob is a typical male name in English speaking countries. Females have been repressed in America to the point that there hasn't been a female president. As a male, you are part of the problem and offend me. Change your name at once! 😄

I think any school in Indiana with the name Rebel or Redskin should change their name. Just my thoughts.
I'm fine with "Rebels" as long as it has nothing to do with a soldier or the Confederacy. Redskin is too racist for my tastes.

Cass loses a ton from last year, although their coaching staff is very solid.

I purposely planned my annual vacation, for 3 weeks in March, so I could stay home and watch the NCAA tournament. Instead I ended up stuck with a 5th grader who didn't want to do e-learning.
I restarted my eBay business selling sports jerseys and T-Shirts and I scratched the sports itch a bit by catching up on two seasons of Battlebots. I also helped my wife in the garden quite a bit.

Caston needs to go back to the Midwest Conference where they were competitive.
Caston and Pioneer not being in the same conference would just feel weird, plus Caston is typically at least competitive with Pioneer in other sports. Caston also has a soccer program, which might make them an odd fit in the MWC.

And it stil looks bad
If there weren't vast personal ties attached to his decision, I would agree with you, but I can't fault a man for following his family, especially in the latter parts of his career. Some career opportunities come up only once and a person has to take advantage and not struggle with "what-ifs" for the rest of their life.
This gives Coach H the chance to reunite with his Warrior family and gives him a short drive from home. Radtke can now be closer to his family as well.
It also beefs up the HNAC into a potential small school powerhouse conference, with Pioneer, LaVille, Knox, Winamac, and North Judson all looking to have some strong teams in the upcoming years. The HNAC is looking to be a slugfest at the top.

Its sad .. Parents at Winamac want to beat Pioneer bad but Winamac parents won't let their kids get coached or attend weight lifting sessions in morning.
The champ club is what I was referring to.

Didn't long time successful coach Tim Roth be one to have built the foundation of the program?
Congrats to Coach Hendryx and welcome him back to Region 4
Yes he did, but Coach Barr raised the bar, no pun intended, by adding a weight lifting program using a phone app. It was in the local papers and I liked the idea.

Barr's actual overall record is something like 111-100. He won 5 sectionals and 2 state titles at Chatard.

Is it fair to say that the Winamac people were frustrated and disappointed with 3 consecutive 5-6 seasons and general lack of overall program improvement following the ultra successful Roth regime?
Coach Barr has a career record of 57-80, including stops at football powerhouses Bishop Chatard and Winamac.
Craig Barr record Year School Won Lost Title 1994 Indianapolis Chatard 6 4 1995 Indianapolis Chatard 8 4 sectional 2002 Noblesville 4 6 2003 Noblesville 3 8 2004 Noblesville 1 9 2005 Noblesville 3 7 2006 Noblesville 5 5 2007 Noblesville 5 6 2013 Madison-Grant 3 7 2014 Madison-Grant 4 6 2017 Winamac 5 6 2018 Winamac 5 6 2019 Winamac 5 6 The problem was that some parents didn't want Barr leading the program from day 1. His hiring cleared by 1 school board vote. His firing was mostly political.
Everyone involved with the program knew that the last three years would be tough. This upcoming season was supposed to be bright. I've heard from sources that Barr had made major strides in building the foundation of the program as well and I heard nothing but positive things outside of disgruntled parents whose kids weren't playing enough and etc.
Barr was the head coach at Chatard when they won two state titles, 9 years overall. His record is not 57-80, it is much better, but for some reason Harrell's site doesn't list a coach for several of the years that he coached there.

He is working out alright
I'm a fan of using later round picks on first or second round talents. Jaylon Smith (2nd round) and Marcus Cannon (5th round) are good examples of players who persevered.

Karlaftis tied for the team lead with 7.5 sacks, led the team in hurries and TFL, and was named a Freshman All American. Sounds like a stud to me.

Many coaches turn over the defense to inexperienced assistants and put all their best athletic talent on the offensive side of the ball.

Lincoln Riley
Jeff Brohm
The list is endless
That's not tackle football. Thats flag football
Jeff Brohm has George Karlaftis who is a future NFL player and a five star recruit out of high school.

So you want a utopia.
If the resources being used by the dropped sport are redirected to other activities then it is a win.
We all should want utopia. It's not possible to be perfect, but why not try to get close?
I agree, but only if the resources are used for academics. Otherwise I prefer seeing more students get the opportunity to play a sport.

It is a business. I simply believe that it shouldn't be. Every person deserves to be educated to their highest potential and money shouldn't be an obstacle.

These days, positive threads can be helpful. Describe the best play you ever saw at a high school game. It could have been an athletically superior play, a big play at a critical time, or just something that came unexpectedly out of the blue. Here’s mine:
It was the 2006 semistate, South Newton @ Sheridan, in the midst of Nick Zachery’s great run for the Blackhawks. Sheridan won the game comfortably, but South Newton’s terrific QB made it interesting for awhile. I believe he ended up the MVP of the North-South game the following summer. Zachery made a play during the game that I still have not seen equaled on a high school field. He was playing safety and a pass down the sideline was well overthrown. He went up over the receiver, with about a 40” vertical, caught the ball with one hand, and got a toe down inbounds before sprawling out on the track. One of the most remarkable plays I’ve ever seen at any level. I used to have a photo of it. I’ll see if I can find it.
2008 regional vs Pioneer, NZ fielded a punt at around midfield and took off toward a sideline. He then ran out of room and headed toward the opposite sideline and used his speed to evade several Panther defenders for a TD.

And you would be wrong. But go ahead, keep believing that if it makes you feel better about yourself.
However I will celebrate when government gets out of the education business entirely.
Education and business don't belong in the same sentence.
You and DT have sure fooled me, with your hundreds of combined posts chronicling the potential demise of youth athletic programs, all in the name of your own entertainment.

When you quoted the constitutional right to public assembly, you are also enabling people to possibly do just that and that is dangerous in our current situation.

All schools hilited in below chart should consider contraction option during this most difficult offseason.
Revenues everywhere will be down and the cost of running a football program will grow to its highest percentage of athletic department funds available ever.
ADs and admins should take into account recent records, competitiveness (point differential), coaching turnover, roster size, status of feeder programs, levels of community support, and overall financial impact
Given the current events overtaking everyday life, public opposition to football contraction will be limited and greatly muted.
Now is the best time to make the move, giving go forward playing schools the opportunity to react and reschedule where possible.

I'm watching CNBC again this evening and catching an interview with a small business owner who owns a vintage record and CD shop.
The owner has laid off most of his employees and is looking at the near term likelihood that he will need to shut down permanently without massive government infusion.
He claims the government proposal to disperse $2000 to all citizens will do nothing toward saving his business. He says he needs help with rent and his general overall overhead.
I say let the business shut down and go away.
Suddenly, everybody is looking for a handout. It appears that far too many businesses in this country do not have the capital to survive more than a few weeks without revenue. Frankly, if that is all the financial backing you can afford, you should be working for someone else like Walmart or Amazon.
Democratic lawmakers are taking this opportunity to make a big push for student debt reduction. So as a taxpayer, I am expected to bail out a deadbeat student who made horrific choices to major in underwater basket weaving at BillyBobs Online College for the Underprivileged. And I am expected to step up and help cover Bubba's basic overhead so he can profitability run his hobby vintage record business.
No thanks. We need massive contraction in the small business community. Too many tattoo parlors. Too many coffee shops. Too many sub shops. Too many vaping shops. Too many gas station-convenience stores.
The cannabis business found out very quickly about oversupply, and contracted just as fast as it started.
Most of these industries will soon follow the retail model where specialty undercapitalized retailers were wiped out and overtaken by the big guys. Its a big guy world. Time for the hobbyist workers who don't want a corporate environment to get ready to leave their comfort zones. Massive contraction is coming.
I'm preparing for the wave.
I've never seen someone want others to fail so much in my life.
